Transformers 4' to pick up where third left off, says Michael Bay

Michael Bay has discussed the plot of Transformers 4.

The director, who helmed all three of the previous Transformers instalments, confirmed that the fourth film will pick up where Transformers: Dark of the Moon left off.

"We're basically taking from the history of where it was," Bay told The Huffington Post. "Or where we left it in Chicago. And we're going to carry it on from there."

He went on to admit that he had at one stage decided not to direct a fourth film, but became concerned that a new director would come into the franchise and "screw it up".

"I thought I was done," Bay said. "Then the ride came out [at Universal Studios Hollywood] and the two-and-a-half-hour lines. And then you're thinking, 'Oh my God, someone's going to take this over'. And you start doing a lot of soul-searching.

"The studio says they want to restart the franchise, And someone could come in here and screw it up, you know?

"I'm thinking that if I do this last one, we set it on a new footing, we change a lot of things - but we keep the history of the three in place. But we broaden it so it can be set up and be carried on - it would have a better chance for survival, I guess."

Hasbro president Brian Goldner recently revealed that the fourth film will introduce a new cast of robotic characters.

It was confirmed earlier this year that Transformers 4 will be Bay's last in the series.

David Walliams wants to be gay Moneypenny in 'James Bond' films

David Walliams has revealed that he wants a role in a future James Bond film.

The comedian said that he would like to play a gay male version of Miss Moneypenny in the next spy thriller.

"I'm really good friends with Bond producer Barbara Broccoli and I did ask if I could be Moneypenny," he is quoted as saying in The Sun.

"I said 'If M is a woman, why can't Moneypenny be a man and have a crush on Bond?' But she just laughed and not in a good way!"

Walliams added that he visited the set of Skyfall with wife Lara Stone, meeting its leading star Daniel Craig.

"Bond films are only as good as the villain. Javier Bardem is the villain in Skyfall so I'm assuming it's going to be fantastic.

"I've seen bits of it and as Barbara is a friend I keep trying to find out more."

Benedict Cumberbatch has recently been tipped as the next Bond villain.

Skyfall will be released on October 26 in the UK and November 9 in the US.

Daniel Radcliffe to play Hunchback in 'Frankenstein'?

Daniel Radcliffe is reportedly in talks to star in a new adaptation of Frankenstein.

The film is currently in pre-production, with Paul McGuigan (Lucky Number Slevin) signing on last month to helm the revisionist, science-fiction version of the Gothic classic.

Radcliffe is believed to be interested in playing the role of Hunchback, who assists Henry Frankenstein in the creation of his monster, according to The Wrap.

The new version of the film places this character, named Fitz in the book, in the lead role. He is reported to wear old clown's clothing, and has been described by sources in production as "pathologically dirty".

The film-makers are currently hard at work finalising the script, which is being written by Chronicle scribe Max Landis.

Landis recently discussed the challenges of re-interpreting the book, and gave a hint as to what to expect from the finished film.

"I began to pick apart our knowledge of Frankenstein and discovered that the public's idea of this myth comes from a million different places," he said.

"I became committed to re-contextualising it all so it all worked in one story. By the end of the day, it's a period piece and yes, it's from [Hunchback's] perspective, but man it's cool. It's the best thing I've written."

Firefly' star Sean Maher wants 'Serenity 2'

Sean Maher wants to return for Serenity 2.

The Firefly star has admitted that he has asked Joss Whedon why there has not been a sequel to the 2005 movie spinoff of the short-lived sci-fi show.

"I wish I could wrap my head around it a little more," Maher told Hero Complex.

"When I see [Joss Whedon], I'm like, 'I don't get it. Aren't you like king of the world right now? Can't you do anything?

"'And I know we can't do another show. I get that. A television show would be very tricky with all of our availability, and I don't think that's in the realm of possibility. But what about another movie? You just shot Much Ado About Nothing in 12 days. You're kind of amazing at that. You made that happen'.

"So when people ask me if there's another one, I say, 'You know, I don't think so, but I don't know, and I kind of don't understand why'."

Whedon is currently working on Marvel Studios' Avengers 2 and the television show spinoff S.H.I.E.L.D.

Maher will appear alongside various other Whedon regulars in Much Ado About Nothing.

Quentin Tarantino to quit filmmaking after tenth movie?

Quentin Tarantino has hinted that he may stop making films within the next decade.

The director, whose slavery drama Django Unchained is released in the US next month, told Playboy that he doesn't want to continue making films into his old age, and would ideally stop at ten.

"I just don't want to be an old-man filmmaker," Tarantino said. "I want to stop at a certain point. Directors don't get better as they get older.

"Usually the worst films in their filmography are those last four at the end. I am all about my filmography, and one bad film f**ks up three good ones.

"But if I stop at ten, that would be okay as an artistic statement."

Tarantino has directed eight feature films to date, not including his segment in 1995's Four Rooms.
