Dwayne Johnson: 'Fast and the Furious 6 begins shooting in May

Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson has opened up about the future of the Fast and the Furious franchise.

The WWE star revealed that the sixth and seventh instalments will not be shot together due to "weather issues".

"I don't think we're going to shoot them back-to-back," Johnson told MTV News

"We were going to try that because it wouldn't make sense to have the same crew and have everybody there in one place, but I think we're dealing with some weather issues.

"So from what I know we're going to shoot Fast 6 first and then worry about Fast 7 a little later."

The actor went on to say that the sixth film will begin filming in May.

"We're going to be in the UK, we're going to be in Germany, from what I know. That's the early talks," he said. "And we're going to start shooting in May."

It was previously reported that The Fast and the Furious 6 will shoot scenes in Southend-on-Sea, Essex.

Johnson recently revealed that he hopes to enter politics someday, adding that he wants to make a difference in the world by moving beyond his acting work.

X-Men: First Class 2' to focus on Magneto

The X-Men: First Class sequel will focus on Magneto, according to screenwriter Simon Kinberg.

Kinberg, who is penning a script for the film in collaboration with helmer Matthew Vaughn, hinted that Michael Fassbender's villain will be taking centre stage in the follow-up.

"Magneto becomes the villain ultimately of the franchise but he's a much more complicated character as a young man. He's someone you sympathise with, you care about you root for even though might not necessarily agree with his methods, you understand his philosophy," Kinberg told MTV News.

The scribe went on to say that audiences will be "afraid" of Magneto in the sequel, but he will not be a "full-on" villain.

"I think the truth is ultimately that because Michael is such an interesting actor, he'll never be full-on anything. He'll have a villainous side and he'll have a sympathetic human side you'll be able to relate to but you'll also be afraid of him. He becomes Magneto, he says 'Call me Magneto' at the end of the first movie."

X-Men: First Class was released in cinemas in May last year. Vaughn signed on to direct the follow-up in January.

Les Grossman movie is "heartfelt", says writer Michael Bacall

Writer Michael Bacall has offered an update on the proposed Les Grossman movie.

It was announced in 2010 that Tom Cruise will reprise his role as the obnoxious movie boss from the film Tropic Thunder in a solo movie.

Bacall - who recently penned a script for the upcoming film - insisted that the project is still in the works.

"Paramount has the draft and I gather that they're pretty happy with it," he told Collider. "I think Tom Cruise probably has a lot of stuff on his plate right now and I think it'll be a schedule thing more than anything."

"I wrote it for R because we had precedent with Tropic Thunder," Bacall continued. "It's actually a pretty heartfelt story. I had a lot of meetings with Mr Cruise and Mr [Ben] Stiller and it was crazy, it was a blast.

"I think we came up with some really fun stuff to give you an insight into who the guy is, so I'm hopeful that that'll get up and running soon."

Bill Hader, who played Grossman's assistant in the film, confirmed last year that the project is still moving forward.
