Gary Oldman: 'Dark Knight Rises is my last Batman movie

Gary Oldman has suggested that he will not star in any future Batman films after The Dark Knight Rises.

Oldman will reprise his role as Commissioner James Gordon in Christopher Nolan's third superhero epic The Dark Knight Rises, but told Crave Online that the film will likely mark the end of his involvement with the Batman franchise

"For us I think it's the end. Whether they will make more, my guess is probably. I mean, they don't have [Harry] Potter anymore. So, there could be a Batman 4 and 5," the star noted.

Oldman continued: "It may be Chris [Nolan] overseeing it in a producorial position, but for us and for Chris I think that's it. It's a great way to go out though. It's a great story. Epic, epic thing it is."

The actor also explained that he's been very impressed by Nolan's vision for The Dark Knight Rises.

"I think Chris strikes me as someone who's too smart and he's sort of too classy to just sort of make a third for the sake of making it. I don't think that's who he is," Oldman said.

He added: "I remember way back saying to him, ''Is there going to be a third?' He said, 'If I can get the story right. I've got to outdo myself. I've got to do it better than The Dark Knight. I've just got to get it right'.

"He set the bar very high, and so he said, 'If I can find a story that interests me I will do it.' I think also it's genius that he's picked Bane as the villain, that he didn't go with The Riddler or The Penguin. I think [that] right there is a wise choice."

Nolan recently described the prologue to The Dark Knight Rises as "breathtaking".

The Dark Knight Rises prologue will be screened before Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol from December 16 in the US and December 21 in the UK. The film opens on June 20, 2012.

Indiana Jones 5': George Lucas seeks MacGuffin plot device

George Lucas is yet to settle on a MacGuffin for Indiana Jones 5.

The writer/producer said that he is still considering the plot device for the sequel.

Lucas told Vulture that partner Steven Spielberg's claim that the concept was settled was not quite accurate.

"Actually, I told him I didn't have it yet," Lucas said. "I told him about the story, but I really haven't found the MacGuffin yet.

"I mean, I know what it's about, but I just have to find a MacGuffin that fits into the arena we're working in."

A term popularised by Alfred Hitchcock, a 'MacGuffin' is a device that drives the plot and draws the viewers' attention but has no true significance beyond this purpose.

Spielberg had previously told Entertainment Weekly: "We have already agreed on the genre of the fifth movie, we already have a concept in mind."

Harrison Ford has said that he would be "delighted" to return to the Indiana Jones franchise for a fifth film, but is not sure if the sequel will go ahead.

Daniel Craig 'to become longest-serving James Bond under new deal'

Daniel Craig has reportedly been offered a multi-million pound deal to star in five more James Bond movies.

The mooted deal will see the 43-year-old star in a total of eight Bond pictures, overtaking Roger Moore as the actor to have spent the longest time playing the spy.

Moore starred as James Bond a total of seven times between 1973 and 1985, starting with Live And Let Die and ending with A View To A Kill.

Craig made his debut as the iconic character in 2006's Casino Royale, which was followed by Quantum Of Solace in 2008 and the upcoming 23rd film in the series Skyfall, due for release on October 26, 2012.

"Daniel's been a terrific Bond, a superb actor and a terrific man," producer Michael G Wilson told The People. "The fans love him and I don't think there's a better actor to play the part. It's certainly something we'll be discussing with him once we finish shooting Skyfall."

He added: "Filming has gone very well so far and I'd love Daniel to surpass Roger's record and do eight pictures. Daniel's been an absolute pleasure to be around because he takes the role so seriously.

"There's really no-one more passionate about making these films work than him - he's a filmmaker's dream. A lot of people have said Daniel's been their favourite Bond since Sean Connery and I can't argue with them. He's doing a great job."

Craig revealed this week that he also wrote parts of Quantum Of Solace due to the writer's strike of 2007 and 2008.

Matt Damon 'expects to return to Bourne franchise

The We Bought a Zoo star, who revealed in October that he hopes to do another Bourne movie, insisted that if the The Bourne Legacy does not perform well, it will not affect the success of any future films in the series.

"I think if [Bourne Legacy] doesn't work, we can just ignore it and pretend it didn't happen, and that'd be fine," Damon told KCRW's The Business. "But I expect that it will work and only help us if we did another one, which I'd love to do."

The Bourne Legacy will feature Jeremy Renner in the lead role. Damon was initially expected to star in the film, but his character was reportedly written out of the movie.

Damon went on to explain his recent comments about director Tony Gilroy. The actor blamed the troubled production of 2007's The Bourne Ultimatum on a "terrible" rough script submitted by Gilroy under a big-money deal.

"It was idiotic of me to say anything," he admitted. "At the end of the day, it's between me and Tony, and we'll figure it out or we won't."

"It was kind of a family event for us. When I went to Paramount the first time to produce it, they weren't really turning TV series into movies, but I was pretty excited about it. To be today at #4 is pretty cool."

Bridesmaids' sequel to move forward without Kristen Wiig?

Universal is reportedly considering moving forward with the sequel to Bridesmaids without its lead actress and co-writer Kristen Wiig.

In last year's hit comedy, the Saturday Night Live actress played Annie Walker, who is chosen as the maid of honour for her best friend's wedding but gets in a competition with one of the bridesmaids.

However, Wiig told The Hollywood Reporter on a Bridesmaids follow-up: "We aren't working on that. [Writing partner] Annie [Mumolo] and I aren't planning a sequel. We are writing something else."

Additionally, it is not yet clear if producer Judd Apatow will continue to work on the project without Wiig and Mumolo.

"We are over the moon with the success of Bridesmaids, and if we do a sequel we want to get it right," a Universal representative said. "We are talking to filmmakers now about concepts, and if the right one emerges, we'll move forward."

Universal chief Ron Meyer allegedly took Wiig out for dinner to change her mind but the actress refused to give in.

Bridesmaids also starred Melissa McCarthy, Maya Rudolph, Rose Byrne, Wendi McLendon-Covey and Ellie Kemper.

Sources claimed that some of the main cast members were not happy with the $100,000 bonus each received from the studio.

In September, Jon Hamm, who appeared opposite Wiig in the movie, said that he thought Wiig wouldn't appear in the sequel.
