Ghost Rider' features 'huge body count

Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance directors Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor have promised a huge "body count" in their movie sequel.

The pair revealed at New York Comic Con that they had managed to insert plenty of violence into the PG-13 rated film, which stars Nicolas Cage.

"Do you really need to have t*ts and f-bombs in a Ghost Rider movie?" Neveldine told The Playlist.

"We got a couple of f-bombs, and our body count is huge in this movie. It's just that you don't see blood, because this guy kills you with Penance Stares and he tears you apart into ashes."

"There's a lot of fire," said Taylor. "That's a really good trick for directors who are trying to make really violent PG-13 movies. You can burn people all you want!"

Neveldine and Taylor reiterated that the movie is a complete reboot, ignoring the much-maligned original but keeping Cage as the star.

"It's more of a re-quel, where we can abandon everything about the first movie, except for Nic," said Taylor.

"There's no continuity. He did a deal with the devil, but it's a different guy, different devil."

Die Hard 5': Paul Walker to play Bruce Willis's son?

Paul Walker could star in A Good Day to Die Hard as John McClane's son.

The Fast and the Furious star is in the running to take on the role in the fifth Die Hard film, reports Variety.

Walker, Ben Foster (X-Men: The Last Stand), Paul Dano (Where the Wild Things Are), Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad) and Milo Ventimiglia (Heroes) are all said to be meeting Bruce Willis next week to audition for the part.

At 38, Walker is the oldest of those in the running for the role.

The latest instalment in the franchise centres on McClane and his son's involvement in a prison escape.

Max Payne's John Moore is attached as director. The A-Team's Skip Woods is drafting a script for the film.

I would of gone for like a 23 or 24 year old actor but If I had to choose one of them it would be Paul Walker he has more movie pulling power.

Hugh Jackman: 'I could have played James Bond'

Hugh Jackman has revealed that he could have played James Bond.

The actor - best known for his roles in X-Men and Real Steel - said that he had to turn down the role due to a busy schedule a few years ago but he still "thinks about playing" the part in the future.

Jackman told PA: "I got a call from my agent saying, 'There's some possible interest in you for Bond, are you interested?'"

"At the time, I wasn't. I was about to shoot X-Men 2 and Wolverine had become this thing in my life. But I think every male at some point thinks about playing Bond. So it was not right then, but it may be right if it comes back."

Daniel Craig was later announced as the sixth actor to play James Bond, following speculation that Dougray Scott, Ioan Gruffudd or Colin Farrell could secure the role.

Jackman recently revealed that he wants to make The Wolverine the definitive movie adaptation of the X-Men character. He told Digital Spy that the script for the movie is the "best" written so far in the series.

That's a shame because he would of made quite a good Bond.

No ‘Expendables’ Sequel For Mickey Rourke; He’s In Talks For Martin McDonagh’s ‘Seven Psychopaths

EXCLUSIVE: Mickey Rourke is negotiating to star with Colin Farrell, Sam Rockwell and Christopher Walken in Seven Psychopaths, the next film by In Bruges writer/director Martin McDonagh. That means Rourke will not be reprising his role in the Simon West-directed The Expendables 2. Rourke did the first film as a favor to director Sylvester Stallone, but  it doesn’t sound like there was a big financial incentive to return for a reprise on the surprise hit.

Rourke, who next stars alongside Henry Cavill in Relativity’s big ticket Tarsem Singh-directed Immortals, will instead spend the fall joining McDonagh and his In Bruges star Farrell, who plays a screenwriter in Los Angeles who struggles to find the handle on his script, called Seven Psychopaths. The screenwriter gets drawn into the dognapping escapades of his friends (played by Rockwell and Walken). Once the beloved Shih Tzu owned by a psychopathic gangster goes missing, the screenwriter finds himself fueled with all the drama he needs for his screenplay, if he can stay alive long enough to write it all down. The ICM-repped Rourke is trying to get back to the awards season form he found himself in a couple of years ago when he got Oscar-nominated for The Wrestler. McDonagh got nominated for his In Bruges script.

CBS Films acquired the rights to distribute Seven Psychopaths in the United States. The film is produced by Graham Broadbent and Peter Czernin, with Tessa Ross executive producing.

Bryan Singer's 'Battlestar Galactica' remake hires writer John Orloff

Battlestar Galactica has found a screenwriter.

Universal Pictures is closing a deal with John Orloff for Bryan Singer's movie remake of Glen A Larson's original 1978 television series.

"I have wanted to write this movie since I was 12 years old, and built a Galactica model from scratch out of balsa wood, cardboard, old model parts and LEDs," Orloff told Deadline. "I love BSG, and I would pass on the job rather than frak it up."

Orloff's most recent project was the Roland Emmerich-directed Anonymous, which he scripted and executive produced.

He also wrote the screenplays for Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole and Angelina Jolie's A Mighty Heart. He received an Emmy nomination for HBO's Band of Brothers miniseries.

Orloff is also attached to write Truckers for DreamWorks Animation.

Django Unchained tells the story of a slave-turned-bounty hunter on a quest to rescue his wife from a Mississippi plantation owner.

Gordon-Levitt has not yet been attached to any role, reports Variety.

The 50/50 actor was reportedly spotted kissing Scarlet Johansson recently, sparking rumours that the two stars are dating.

Meanwhile, co-star Anna Kendrick revealed that an on-screen kiss between her and Gordon Levitt in 50/50 was ultimately decided against.

"The studio wanted to see us kiss at the end, actually," Kendrick said. "We were thinking about just trying it as an option. Joe very wisely stood up and said, 'If we give it to them as an option, they will use it'."

"So we just decided not to do it, because it really just didn't feel right. And I was relieved, because I had known Joe for too long at that point. It's too weird once you think of someone as a friend to be like, 'OK, I guess we make out now?'"

Captain America' sequel set in modern day

The writers behind Captain America: The First Avenger have confirmed the film's sequel will be set in the present day.

The Marvel Studios sequel will be released after next year's superhero team-up film The Avengers, which sees Captain America adjusting to life in modern times.

"I think it's safe for us to say that it's primarily set in the modern day," Stephen McFeely told The HD Room. "That seems to have been the biggest question people have been wondering about regarding the sequel.

"We've been left with room to explore Cap entering the modern day wondering, 'What is all this? What's happened to the world' and so on."

Christopher Markus went on to explain that the sequel will focus on Steve Rogers adjusting to a world where "there is nothing black-and-white".

He added: 'So you're given this huge new palette to work with, but you can keep him the same."

Chris Evans will reprise his role as Captain America opposite Robert Downey Jr, Mark Ruffalo and Scarlett Johansson in The Avengers, due out in cinemas on May 4, 2012.

Evans recently suggested Captain America: The First Avenger is likely to be released sometime in 2014.

The 2005 film featured Mickey Rourke as Marv and Jessica Alba as Nancy Callahan, although it is unknown whether the actors will return for the proposed sequel.

The graphic novel for A Dame To Kill For also features characters played in the film by Rosario Dawson, Devon Aoki and Michael Clarke Duncan.
