Bradley Cooper exits 'The Crow' remake

Bradley Cooper has dropped out of starring in The Crow.

The Hangover actor was to have played a rock musician resurrected from the dead in director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo remake, but left the comic book project due to a scheduling conflict.

Cooper will instead star in Silver Linings Playbook for David O Russell and the big budget version of John Milton's Paradise Lost, says The Hollywood Reporter.

The Crow director Fresnadillo and backers Relativity Media are now targeting Mark Wahlberg and Channing Tatum for the lead role. Wahlberg was previously linked to the project before Cooper joined earlier this this year.

James O'Barr's cult comic story was first brought to the screen in 1994 with Brandon Lee in the lead role. Lee tragically died during the making of the supernatural drama when discharge from a blank bullet struck him in the abdomen.

'Wonder Woman' movie with Christina Hendricks possible, says director

Nicolas Winding Refn has revealed that a Wonder Woman film is a possibility.

The Drive director claimed that studio executives have promised him he can shoot a Wonder Woman film provided his remake of Logan's Run performs well at the box office.

"I would love to make Wonder Woman," Refn said at Empire Big Screen. "And I also think that Christina Hendricks would be the perfect Wonder Woman, but Warner Bros haven't called yet."

Refn continued: "But I'm getting closer with Logan's Run. I think someone said to me in a meeting that if I get Logan's Run right, then I'll get Wonder Woman."

Refn previously named the Mad Men star as his pick for the Amazonian princess in July.

In May, NBC declined to take a pilot of Wonder Woman to series due in part to its lukewarm reception by test audiences.

Refn will reunite with Drive star Ryan Gosling for Logan's Run. Gosling has said that he and Refn do not plan to rush the remake for fear of delivering a poor film.

Logan's Run is currently slated for a 2014 release.

Zachary Quinto: 'Spock's love life could fall apart in Star Trek 2'

Zachary Quinto has said that his character Spock's love life might take a turn for the worse in the sequel to Star Trek.

The former Heroes star revealed that the events of the first film could affect Spock's relationship with Uhura (Zoe Saldana).

"I would imagine - this is just speculative - his planet's been destroyed, he feels a real imperative to rebuild his race," Quinto told io9. "But he's in love with a human. There's probably some potential conflict in that dynamic; I would not be surprised, and I would be intrigued and excited by that if that were the case."

Quinto went on to admit that he is anxious to begin filming the follow-up to 2009's Star Trek, saying that he is particularly intrigued by who the movie's antagonist will be.

"I'm interested to see what the villain situation is," Quinto said. "What are we fighting against? What is our mission? That's going to be really cool for me. I'm really excited to see the direction in which they take my character in general."

Quinto continued: "I'm excited to see when this movie takes place, in juxtaposition to when we ended the first one. Where do we pick back up? What's happened to the characters since then? My sense is, what's the dynamic like between Kirk and Spock? Is it all smooth sailing?

"I imagine that they're both so strongly willed, that there will be some continued friction... I'm just excited to read it and shoot it."

Earlier this month, JJ Abrams confessed that the next Star Trek picture still has no script or director. The Lost creator previously insisted that he did not want to rush the film for fear of delivering a sub-par story.

In July, it was announced the sequel would miss its scheduled release date of June 29, 2012.

Ron Howard's 'Dark Tower' to be revived as TV series?

Ron Howard is reportedly planning to revive his adaptation of The Dark Tower as a television series.

A proposed film version of the Stephen King fantasy series was rejected by Universal last month.

However, co-producer Brian Grazer told the New York Post that the project could still air on a traditional television network or be released via Netflix.

"[We are] trying to get outside financing to make it, and distribute it through a major [studio]," he explained.

Grazer added that any potential Dark Tower series will not enter production until 2012, due to Howard's busy schedule.

"Ron is now going to be working on the Formula One racing movie Rush about Niki Lauda, so the soonest we could do it would be June next year," he said.

Howard previously confirmed that Javier Bardem had "shown a great deal of interest" in playing the lead role in The Dark Tower.

Will Smith is reportedly being considered for the sci-fi remake Fantastic Voyage.

Industry sources have indicated that director Shawn Levy (Night at the Museum) has arranged a meeting with the Men in Black star in hope of signing him to the project, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Fantastic Voyage is a re-imagining of a 1960s film that centers on a crew of scientists who are shrunk down to the sizes of atoms and sent into another scientist's body via a miniature submarine in an attempt to save his life.

Christian Bale will reportedly star in legendary director Terrence Malick's next movie.

The Dark Knight Rises actor is to lead the cast of the untitled project, making it his second collaboration with Malick following 2005's The New World.

Bale and Malick almost reunited on the filmmaker's upcoming romance, once rumoured to be titled The Burial, but the actor was eventually replaced by Ben Affleck.

Malick's Bale-led film is said to be smaller in scale than his previous work, requiring a "pair of dominant leads, one male and one female", according to Twitch.

Rooney Mara (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo), Haley Bennett (Kaboom), Clémence Poésy (Harry Potter) and Mia Wasikowska (Alice in Wonderland) are in the running to play the lead female role.

Malick's most recent movie The Tree of Life scooped the Palme D'or prize at the Cannes Film Festival. Star Sean Penn this week criticised the universe-spanning drama for not having a conventional narrative.

"Frankly, I'm still trying to understand what I was there to do and what I was meant to add in that context. Even Terry himself didn't manage to explain it to me clearly," Penn commented.

Alone in the Dark director Uwe Boll has called The Tree of Life a "piece of s**t", claiming that "Sean Penn is ridiculous in it".
