Jamie Bell: 'Tintin looks better than Avatar
Jamie Bell has revealed some of the first details surrounding his upcoming role in the Steven Spielberg-directed film The Adventures Of Tintin: Secret Of The Unicorn.
The young actor, who recently starred in historical epic The Eagle, insisted that the film's motion-capture effects are potentially better than that of James Cameron's Avatar.
"It's never looked this good before," Bell told IGN recently. "I don't think motion-capture has ever met with the right material yet, and Tintin is perfect because we needed control of the world."
Bell revealed that he had already seen finished footage, and even teased some of the sequences featured in the family film.
"The story really spans across many different landscapes," Bell explained. "At one point we're in the middle of the ocean and then there's a sequence set in the desert, there's an airplane sequence in it, which is very exciting and fantastical.
"And this is all stuff from the book, so to the fans who know it, they'll know what I'm talking about," the actor added, referring to Georges 'Hergé' Remi's original comic strip.
Simon Pegg recently revealed that Spielberg had been patiently waiting for film technology to catch up with his vision for the film adaptation.
The Adventures Of Tintin: Secret Of The Unicorn is scheduled to be released on December 23.
