Katie Price 'wants Megan Fox for biopic

Katie Price has reportedly said that she would like Megan Fox to play her in an upcoming biopic.

Speaking to journalists at a dinner to mark the launch of her new Sky Living show Katie, the glamour model confirmed that plans for the movie were proceeding.

According to The Mirror, Price said: "My movie is definitely on. I'd love Megan Fox to play me. She's stunning. As for the rest of the cast, I'm not too worried. As long as they're good-looking."

Price had previously suggested that Julia Roberts would be a suitable actress to portray her on the big screen.

Of other plans for US-based work, she added: "There is so much happening for me in America - I'm sworn to secrecy about it really, but it's not a case of if, it's a case of when I'll go out there.

"I know people say you have to move to the States to break the States but I don't need to do that. It's already happening for me. So I don't need to move there. I've got my horses over here, I can't leave them."

Price also told the reporters that she had decided to leave ITV for Living because the broadcaster did not do enough to promote her during her time there.

24' movie for summer 2012 release?

Kiefer Sutherland has claimed that a movie version of 24 will be released in cinemas next year.

Speaking on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, the actor suggested that the film adaptation is "slated for the summer of 2012".

"[That] would mean that we'd have to start shooting in January," he explained. "We're moving everything towards accomplishing those dates."

Sutherland, who played federal agent Jack Bauer from 2001 to 2010, also confirmed that the movie will unfold as a "two-hour representation of a 24-hour day".

"What is really helpful for us, certainly from the writing point [of view], is that it won't be in real time," he said. "[Jack could] get on a plane to go somewhere. All of those things are possible now which were not possible in the show."

Former 24 producer Howard Gordon recently claimed that a movie version of the Fox drama is currently on hold.

A script for the film written by Flightplan scribe Billy Ray was rejected by Fox executives late last year.

'Magician's Nephew' to be next 'Narnia' film

The Chronicles Of Narnia producer Michael Flaherty has revealed that the next movie in the fantasy series will be The Magician's Nephew.

Flaherty told The Christian Post that he has started discussions with 20th Century Fox and C.S. Lewis's estate about adapting the book for the big screen.

"If we can all agree to move forward, then what we would do is find someone to write the script. So, it could still be a couple of years," Flaherty said.

The Magician's Nephew is the sixth instalment in the seven-book Narnia series, but takes place before the events of The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe. It centres on children Polly Plummer and Digory Kirke (Professor Kirke in Wardrobe) as they embark on adventures to another world with Digory's sorcerer uncle Andrew.

"I love The Magician's Nephew because it's a great origins story," Flaherty explained. "You get to learn so much about where the wardrobe came from, where the lamppost came from, where Narnia came from."

The producer added that he will target a Christmas release for The Magician's Nephew.

The most recent film in the Narnia series, The Voyage Of The Dawn Treader, opened last year and grossed more than $400 million (£245m) at the worldwide box office.

Kate Bosworth, Eva Green for 'Total Recall'?

Kate Bosworth and Eva Green are reportedly in the running to take on the two female leads in the reboot of Total Recall.

The actresses would be taking on the parts of Lori and Melinda, played by Sharon Stone and Rachael Ticotin respectively in the original, Deadline reports.

Casting for the role of Lori, who was Douglas Quaid's wife, was said to be between Bosworth and Diane Kruger. However, Kruger has now opted out of reading for the part, the site claims.

Green, Jessica Biel, Paula Patton and Eva Mendes are the names being considered for the role of Melinda.

Colin Farrell will replace Arnold Schwarzenegger, whose character Quaid finds himself forced to travel to Mars after trying out a "virtual" holiday to the red plant.

The film, which is due to arrive in August 2012, will be very different from the original, according to Farrell.

He claimed that the plot will be closer to the original short story by Philip K. Dick.

David O. Russell: 'I want to write Fighter 2

David O. Russell has admitted that he wants to pen the follow-up to the box office smash The Fighter.

The director told MTV News, that the sequel would cover boxer Micky Ward's famed battles with Arturo Gatti.

He said: "I think Micky's story has a lot of heart whichever way you cut it. You'd go towards the Gatti fights and you could go into the history of the family more. I really like the sisters."

Russell, who wrote and helmed all his previous films, including Three Kings, has not revealed whether he will direct the proposed feature.

Mark Wahlberg, who played the lead role, has previously said he would be keen to do The Fighter 2.

The three Gatti fights took place between 2002 and 2003.

Megan Fox's 'Passion Play' for theatre release

Megan Fox's new film Passion Play will have a cinematic release, despite suggestions that it would be a straight to video distribution.

Zack Snyder: 'Superman franchise is broken

Zack Snyder has outlined the need to put Superman back on the map with his upcoming movie.

Speaking to Hollywood Outbreak days before the release of his Sucker Punch film, the director said that the "world is out of balance" when a Thor film is garnering more excitement than the Man of Steel.

"I think Superman is broken and needs to be fixed, from a movie stand point," he said. "He is the biggest superhero on the planet - the father of every superhero."

Snyder added that he was undersold on the project before his initial meeting with DC.

His wife and producing partner Deborah Snyder explained: "I said to Zack, 'I don't really know about this. Let's go and see what they have to say... [After the meeting] we both left saying 'Wow! This is great!'"

Snyder also spoke about the film's star Henry Cavill: "I think the thing Henry has other than being a good looking guy... he's a man, which I like.

"He also has this little teeny bit of innocence, a teeny bit of kindness to him which I feel like is important to his character. Just enough where he's not soft, but you could imagine him being kind. I think that's a good quality."

The movie will begin shooting this year under the working title Superman: Man of Steel, and is planned for release in December 2012.

Joss Whedon 'helped Hemsworth win Thor role'

Chris Hemsworth has revealed that Joss Whedon helped him land the lead role in Thor.

The Australian actor said that he was struggling to make headway in the casting race for the Marvel hero until his Cabin In The Woods producer Whedon recommended him to Thor helmer Kenneth Branagh.

The Coventry Telegraph quotes Hemsworth as saying: "Joss is fantastic. I worked with him on Cabin In The Woods. He wrote and produced it with director Drew Goddard.

"Right back when I was shooting Cabin In The Woods there was the casting for Thor. The process was ending and he said, 'Why aren't you involved in it?' and I said, "Well I was earlier, but I've been in and out of it - What's going on?' And he said, 'I'll give Ken a call,' and he called Ken Branagh.

"They didn't know each other but knew of each other and Joss said, 'Look, for what it's worth, I've been working with Chris and he's a good bloke'."

The actor added that Whedon's call helped him get "back in there" and secure the part of the Norse god banished to Earth.

Hemsworth and director Whedon will reunite on Marvel's ensemble superhero picture The Avengers, opening in cinemas in May 2012. Thor will debut in the UK on April 27 and the US on May 6.

Katherine Heigl's 'Money' delayed to 2012

'Bourne Legacy' Update: Who'll Test?

The young male Role To Die For at the moment is the lead in The Bourne Legacy, the Bourne Identity spinoff film that will be directed for Universal by Tony Gilroy. The field is narrowing, and I'm told that the following are set so far to test: Joel Edgerton (The Thing), Dominic Cooper (The Devil's Double), Garrett Hedlund (Tron: Legacy) and Luke Evans (The Amateur American).

There could be another name or two (Logan Marshall-Green comes up as speculation), but that's who'll test first week of April. Now the choice could always come from an actor who doesn't test. Among the established names in the mix has been Shia LaBeouf (will not test, per insiders) and Battleship's Taylor Kitsch (has met with Gilroy and is a possibility). I don't think the studio feels this needs a big star. It's hard to find a better branded movie, and while it's not Matt Damon starring, Gilroy's writing work has provided the spine for the original series. That gives this some franchise cred.
