Eckhart teases 'Dark Knight' return

Aaron Eckhart has surprised fans by suggesting that he may still make a return appearance in Christopher Nolan's next Batman film, despite the apparent death of his character at the conclusion of The Dark Knight.

Eckhart played District Attorney Harvey Dent in Nolan's second Batman outing back in 2008, but the character appeared to have died at the end of the film following his transformation into the iconic Batman supervillain Two-Face.

However, during an interview with CBS News, Eckhart hinted that he might not be completely done with the role.

In response to the interviewer trying to confirm that Eckhart wouldn't be appearing in next year's The Dark Knight Rises, the actor cryptically asked, "I'm not?"

When pressed as to whether he might be making a cameo appearance in the film, as part of a flashback or dream sequence, Eckhart simply said, "I could not possibly say."

Eckhart is currently starring in the new action sci-fi Battle: Los Angeles, which was released in cinemas this weekend.

Cooper: 'There won't be any more A-Team

Bradley Cooper has confirmed speculation that there are currently no plans for a sequel to last year's remake of The A-Team.

Cooper, who starred in the film alongside Liam Neeson, Quinton Jackson and Sharlto Copley, admitted that the poor commercial success of the film meant that any future instalments are highly unlikely.

"I loved it too," Cooper told Empire, when a fan wrote in and told the former Alias actor how much he had enjoyed their version of the classic '80s series.

"But unfortunately, outside of you, a few of your friends and myself, there just wasn't enough revenue to supply a second instalment of that franchise," Cooper confirmed.

Neeson also recently admitted that studios were reluctant to move ahead with a sequel, despite revealing that he would love to reprise his role as John 'Hannibal' Smith.

Cooper will next be seen in the upcoming sequel to The Hangover this May.

Rodriguez hints at 'Avatar', 'Fast' returns

Michelle Rodriguez has teased that she may make an unexpected return to both the Avatar and Fast & Furious franchises.

The Battle: Los Angeles star, whose characters seemingly died in the latest instalments of both film series, explained how her appearance in 2014's Avatar 2 and the upcoming Fast & Furious: Rio Heist could be made possible.

When questioned by Indiewire on whether James Cameron could resurrect her character Trudy Chacon for his planned sci-fi sequel, Rodriguez bemoaned: "He's so cryptic and I hate it!

"He says, nobody in a sci-fi movie ever dies. He always used to say while we were shooting, 'Let's immortalise this'. So, is he talking about anyone who's in a sci-fi movie doesn't die, because people will watch it forever? Or does he mean, we can always bring you back, because of the tree of souls or whatever?"

On her character Letty Ortiz's apparent murder in 2009 sequel Fast & Furious, she added: "You know, it's interesting, you never saw a body..."

Rodriguez previously stated that she would like to be somehow involved in Avatar 2, even if that only means visiting the set.

Fast & Furious: Rio Heist is released in the UK on April 21 and the US on April 29.

Cooper: 'I want to play Tom Buchanan'

Bradley Cooper has revealed that he wants to play Tom Buchanan in director Baz Luhrmann's The Great Gatsby.

Cooper spoke to the New York Times about his desire to play Daisy Buchanan's rich husband in Luhrmann's highly-anticipated adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald's novel.

"To me, he's the best character in the book. He's so complicated," Cooper said. "He's xenophobic, he's an alcoholic, but he also understands some profound stuff about class.

"Whoever plays it has to take a gentle hand, because it could so easily be stock, where he's a rich jerk you don't identify with at all."

Eckhart: 'Dark Knight leak is career suicide

Aaron Eckhart has stated that leaking any details about The Dark Knight Rises would be "career suicide".

The Battle: Los Angeles star played tragic District Attorney Harvey Dent in Christopher Nolan's 2008 Batman sequel The Dark Knight. The 43-year-old's potential involvement in the upcoming third instalment of the superhero franchise was seemingly destroyed when Dent's villainous alter-ego Two Face plummeted to his death during the film's conclusion.

However, when speaking with Indiewire, Eckhart fuelled recent speculation that he may yet appear in The Dark Knight Rises by dodging enquiries about his connection to the much-anticipated project.

He teased: "How can I possibly answer that question? That would be career suicide."

Despite remaining tight-lipped about the next Batman flick, Eckhart did confirm Dent's fate upon being asked whether he had spoken to Nolan about the film's plot.

"I won't say that," he refused. "But I will say Harvey Dent is dead."

Eckhart caused a stir this week by responding to an interviewer's assumption that he will not be in The Dark Knight Rises with cryptic surprise.

Liam Neeson to pull out of 'Taken 2'?

Liam Neeson could be close to dropping out of the sequel to Taken, it has been reported.

The actor was thought to be on board for the follow-up to the 2008 action thriller, but it recently emerged that scheduling issues would force him to leave the project, according to Deadline.

Writer-producer Luc Besson apparently identified a number of actors to take over the lead role from Neeson. The list included Mickey Rourke, Ralph Fiennes, Ray Winstone, Sean Bean and Jason Isaacs.

Besson has since entered into fresh negotiations with Neeson with a view to overcoming the difficulties and allowing the actor to shoot the film in Istanbul later this year, but no deal has yet been struck.

Neeson recently shot a cameo appearance in the upcoming sequel to The Hangover, which the star described as "pretty intense".

Megan Fox eyes 'Knocked Up' spinoff

Megan Fox is in negotiations to join Judd Apatow's latest comedy for Universal.

The Transformers actress is circling an unknown role in the untitled film, which revolves around Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann's characters from Apatow's 2007 box office hit Knocked Up.

Additionally, Deadline reports that Albert Brooks will board the cast as the father of Rudd's character Pete.

The comedy star has not appeared on the big screen since 2003's The In-Laws, but will soon be seen as the villain in Ryan Gosling's action thriller Drive.

Rudd and Mann's Knocked Up couple were loosely based on Apatow's own relationship with wife Mann. Apatow previously said that the comedy will not be a direct sequel to the earlier movie.

"It is just a story from Pete and Debbie's current life," he commented. "People really responded to their characters and problems."

New 'Superman' compared to 'Batman Begins

Zack Snyder has said that his forthcoming Superman movie will be similar to Christopher Nolan's overhaul of the Batman franchise.

Speaking to the Los Angeles Times, Snyder said that he is using 2005's Batman Begins as a template for his latest blockbuster.

The Watchmen director confirmed that his movie, rumoured to be titled Man Of Steel, will not have any connection to previous Superman pictures.

"Literally, the one thing that everyone can start to think about is that we're making a movie that finally goes with the approach that there's been no other Superman movies," he said.

"If you look at Batman Begins, there's that structure, there's the canon that we know about and respect but on other hand there's this approach that pre-supposes that there haven't been any other movies. In every aspect of design and of story, the whole thing is very much from that perspective of respect the canon but don't be a slave to the movies."

Snyder said that he intends to present a more aggressive interpretation of the DC Comics hero, saying: "Our Superman, he's got things to figure out but he's a physical cat."

Asked when fans are likely to see the first picture of Henry Cavill in-costume as the Man Of Steel, Snyder replied: "We're going to have to show it before we shoot, probably a while before that because [otherwise] someone will be on the set and get a picture of it."

This does make the movie sound a little better.
