Law hoping for another 'Sherlock Holmes

Jude Law and Robert Downey Jr have said that they are both open to the idea of continuing the Sherlock Holmes film series after this year's upcoming sequel.

Both Law and Downey Jr have returned for the follow-up as Watson and Holmes respectively, and have admitted that they are excited at the possibility of future instalments.

"We were talking so much about the possibilities of more, and loads of ideas and situations, on the first one," Law told MTV News. "We've got even more ideas now, and I hope we're going to be allowed to do another one again."

Downey Jr reiterated Law's comments, admitting that he hoped to continue playing Holmes as long as he is allowed to.

"We're clinging on to this thing," the actor joked. "It's going to have claw marks in it when we let go."

The upcoming sequel sees Mad Men actor Jared Harris portray the iconic villain Professor Moriarty, while Noomi Rapace joins as the new female lead.

Fassbender discusses 'Jane Eyre' role

Michael Fassbender has admitted that while he was preparing for his role in Cary Fukunaga's adaptation of Charlotte Brontë's Jane Eyre, he took inspiration from the many different actors who have played Edward Rochester

The actor, who has raised his profile in recent months thanks to upcoming roles in X-Men: First Class and Prometheus, said that he initially looked at his favourite performances of the character from the likes of Orson Welles and Toby Stephens.

"Then I threw it all away and then I sort of concentrated on what was in the book, and what was in the script," Fassbender told Coming Soon.

The actor also admitted that he was persuaded to take on the role because his family loves the original gothic classic.

"My sister and my mother were big fans when I was a child and when I was in my teens as well, they were always talking about it because my sister was reading it," the actor explained. "That was the reason why I wanted to do it, so they could take a took."

Mia Wasikowska takes on the titular role of Jane Eyre in Fukunaga's version, while both Jamie Bell and Dame Judi Dench have been cast in supporting roles.

Jane Eyre receives a limited release in cinemas on March 11.

Pegg: 'Mission Impossible 4 is a rebirth

Simon Pegg has revealed that Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol is going to be more like a reboot of the series than a sequel.

Pegg spoke to Screen Crave about the upcoming film, stating that fans have no need to worry about the series becoming repetitive.

"When a film goes into number four you're like, 'Isn't this just like flogging a dead horse now?' But what they've done is they've brought in a director [Brad Bird] who's never done live action before but who's had a 100% hit rate for his previous movies," said Pegg.

He continued: "It's a rebirth for the series. In the same way with what they've done with Spider-Man. I feel like it's a reinvigoration of this particular story. It was a series when it was on TV, so it's a story that can have so many iterations. There are so many adventures to get into with this team of impossible mission fighters."

Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol opens in US and UK cinemas on December 16.

Anthony Hopkins to play Bond villain

Sir Anthony Hopkins is reportedly close to signing up to star in the latest James Bond movie.

According to The Sun, the Oscar-winning Silence Of The Lambs actor is in discussions about playing 007's nemesis in the spy series' 23rd instalment. Insiders have likened the part to recurring villain Ernst Stavro Blofeld from the early Bond pictures.

"The only stumbling block seems to be the number of films he is signing up for," a source said. "There is a chance the character they want him to play could become a regular feature, like Blofeld back in the day."

Hopkins recently appeared in horror movie The Rite and can next be seen as Odin in Marvel adaptation Thor.

Daniel Craig and Judi Dench will return for the untitled Bond adventure, while Javier Bardem and Ralph Fiennes are allegedly circling roles in director Sam Mendes's film.

Men In Black 3' struck by script problems?

Production on Men In Black 3 has reportedly been held up due to script problems and clashes between producer Walter Parkes and director Barry Sonnenfeld.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, filming commenced on the blockbuster sequel - starring Will Smith, Tommy Lee Jones and Josh Brolin - last November without a completed script in place.

Sony Pictures rushed to start production by the end of 2010 to capitalise on New York City tax breaks and shave millions off the budget. A hiatus was built into the filming schedule to allow director Sonnenfeld time to complete the story - which involves a time-travelling Agent K (Smith) going back to 1969 and meeting a younger version of his partner K (Jones) - and resume shooting in the middle of February.

However, Sony has been forced to extend the hiatus to March 28 as Smith is yet to approve a completed script from David Koepp. Sonnenfeld and producer Parkes, who allegedly had a frosty relationship on the first two Men In Black outings, have supposedly reignited their feud over the production delays.

"Any movie involving time travel seems to be difficult if you want to make it work and have no bulls**t loopholes, which has taken longer than we thought it would," a source working on the blockbuster said.

Another insider added: "It's hard because you're locked into the beginning of the movie. It creates problems that are just kind of crazy."

Sony spokesman Steve Elzer downplayed the financial cost of the delay to the studio, saying: "Because we extended the hiatus from the holidays, few people were on the payroll, so this was a relatively inexpensive decision that has had an insignificant impact on the budget."

The Men In Black movies have grossed more than $1 billion at the worldwide box office. The third instalment is due to open in cinemas on May 23.
