Hamm: 'I'm too old to play Superman'

Jon Hamm has refuted rumours that he is under consideration to play Superman in Zack Snyder's upcoming reboot.

The Mad Men actor insisted that he is now too old to take on the iconic role.

"I think that's a young man's game now," Hamm told MTV News. "I think I've been aged out of that one by now, but that's fine with me.

"There are plenty of other people available to put on tights," he continued.

Hamm also claimed that he wouldn't be interested in playing Superman because he is more interested in superheroes who have flaws in their character.

Despite denying the Superman rumours, Hamm will next be seen in Snyder's new film Sucker Punch when it is released on March 25.

Van Damme may join 'Expendables 2'

Jean-Claude Van Damme may join the cast of The Expendables 2, it has been reported.

Van Damme declined a role in the first Expendables film, released last year. However, according to Movie Web, director Sheldon Lettich wrote on the forum of website The Van Damme Files that the action star will accept a role in the sequel on one condition.

"JC seems to be leaning towards appearing in the sequel, as far as I know… If Steven Seagal is not in the sequel," wrote Lettich.

He continued: "From what I've heard [of The Expendables 2], [Seagal] won't be [in the sequel], not because of [Sylvester Stallone], but because of producer Avi Lerner, who had a few bad experiences with Steven."

The Expendables 2 is scheduled to be released in 2012.

Damon 'hopes to make another Bourne movie'

Matt Damon has revealed that he may star in another Bourne movie.

At the Critics' Choice Awards on Friday, Damon spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about the prospects for another film in the Bourne franchise.

"I really hope it’s going to happen," Damon said. "It's really up to Paul Greengrass, the director. I've always said I won't do it without him and I think it would be a bad idea to do it without Paul."

Damon went on to explain that the two men want to make a quality film.

"We just want to make sure if we do it, that we do it right. There's been a lot of pressure for us to do it obviously but that's that moment I think where you got to step back and make sure you're not making a mistake. So when it feels like the right time, I think Paul would be open to doing it."

I don't think the new Bourne movie will be any good unless Matt Damon is in it.

James Franco has revealed that he will play a serial killer in the film The Night Stalker.

According to the New York Post, Franco, who will also direct the movie, will play Richard Ramirez, a rapist and murderer in the mid-'80s.

The film will be adapted from Philip Carlo's book of the same title. Nicholas Constantine, one of the screenwriters on the project, spoke to the paper about Franco's involvement.

He continued: "We watched three short films he made, two of which were dark and one of which was about a serial killer. That confirmed James definitely had this dark side, and it definitely sealed the deal for us. Sure enough, James read the material and responded to it immediately."

Eastwood, who most recently helmed Hereafter, spoke to The Daily Telegraph about his future as a director, stating that he plans to make movies until he dies.

John Wagner endorses 'Dredd' reboot

Judge Dredd co-creator John Wagner has endorsed the franchise's upcoming movie reboot.

Posting his impressions on Facebook after a set visit, the comic writer praised lead actors Karl Urban and Olivia Thirlby.

"Very pleased with what I saw of Karl Urban and Olivia Thirlby," he wrote. "Both excellent in their roles and work well as a team. Entire crew really dedicated and determined to produce a damned good movie."

Wagner went on to commend the film's use of 3D and detail his discussions with screenwriter Alex Garland. "[We] had our disagreements but he has usually had a convincing argument for doing things his way," he added.

"On the main issue, concentrating the plot on a slice of life rather than trying to convey the wh… ole sweep of Dredd and Mega-City life, I now see that he's right. It was one of the flaws of the first movie, they tried to do too much."

Directed by Pete Travis, Dredd arrives in theatres in December.

Sutherland: '24 movie could film in December'

Kiefer Sutherland has revealed that he hopes to start filming the 24 movie by the end of the year.

The actor, who portrayed CTU operative Jack Bauer across 8 seasons on Fox, told Extra that the big screen spin-off "won’t start shooting for about eight months".

He said: "It’s a very difficult thing to take something that you’ve done for eight years, almost 200 episodes, and try and find a story that’s going to be unique and yet service the history of the show as well. That is to be expected. So we start shooting hopefully by next December or January."

Asked about changes to Billy Ray's script, which was rejected by Fox executives, Sutherland said: "I think it will [change] up until the day we start shooting, and probably from that point forward, too."

Sutherland recently admitted that he is also working on ideas for a return to primetime television
