Worthington "Avatar 2 will be great"

Sam Worthington has praised director James Cameron's ideas for the upcoming sequel films to Avatar.

Fox announced earlier this year that Cameron has begun work on two follow-ups to the box-office smash, and confirmed that Worthington would be reprising his role as Jake Sully.

"I talk to Cameron all the time," Worthington told MTV News. "I think at the moment he's still doing the [Avatar] bible, the book, and I think the book will then inspire where he wants to take it.

"He's got great ideas, what he told me about where he wants to set it, things he wants to explore," Worthington added.

The actor also revealed that he was unsure whether his character would ever appear in his human form again, after becoming a permanent member of the alien Na'vi at the conclusion of the first film.

Avatar 2 is expected to be released sometime in 2014.

Segel 'doubted playing Blunt love interest'

Jason Segel has expressed doubt over the believability of his role as Emily Blunt's love interest in Gulliver's Travels.

The Forgetting Sarah Marshall actor, who plays the boyfriend of Blunt's miniature princess in the Jack Black comedy, admitted that becoming a romantic lead was a more daunting prospect than his brutal pre-shoot exercise routine.

He told BANG Showbiz: "Here I needed to be fit. They got me a trainer, which is very different to what I am used to.

"I have hand-to-hand combat, and then I also have to be someone Emily Blunt could be attracted to. In fact, that's been the toughest thing of all."

Segel also spoke of Black's involvement in his casting, adding that he was sincerely grateful for the Tenacious D frontman's endorsement.

"I love Jack. He gave me my first writing job when I was 20 years old on a pilot called 'Black Market Music' that Seth Rogen and I were writing," he said. "Jack fought really hard for me on this movie and I owe him a lot."

Gulliver's Travels opens in the UK on Boxing Day.

Heather Morris: 'I'm a Buffy contender'

Heather Morris has revealed that she is being considered to play the lead in the upcoming remake of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Morris, who currently stars on Glee as the empty-headed cheerleader Brittany, told Access Hollywood that she is a contender for the role of Buffy.

"They're considering me!" Morris said. "I found out and I almost peed my pants because I was so excited!"

Morris also stated that she is such a fan of the original series, which ended in 2003, that she does not care what her role is as long as she gets a chance to appear on the show.

"If they make [Buffy] when [Glee] is on hiatus, I don't even care what I do," Morris declared. "I can just run through the shot and do nothing, even if I'm not Buffy!"

Producer would "love" new 'Terminator'

Terminator producer Gale Anne Hurd has admitted that she would "love" to continue the science fiction franchise.

Hurd, who is currently steering AMC's The Walking Dead, produced the first three movies in the Terminator saga before handing it over to Halcyon for 2009's Terminator Salvation. The company filed for bankruptcy soon after the last film's release and the screen rights are now held by hedge fund Pacificor.

Hurd told Entertainment Weekly that she feels "sad" about the demise of the series she co-created with James Cameron.

"You feel like you gave birth to something and it's been adopted and those adoptions haven't worked out," she explained. "Of course I'd be interested in doing another one. I'd love it."

The Terminator film franchise has grossed more than $1.4 billion at the worldwide box office and spawned the short-lived TV series, The Sarah Connor Chronicles.

Ford reps deny Indiana Jones death

Harrison Ford's representatives have denied reports that Indiana Jones will be killed off in his next big screen outing.

A recent online story had claimed that Ford, producer George Lucas and director Steven Spielberg were considering killing the archaeologist to allow Shia LaBeouf to take over the franchise.

"Harrison thinks it would be good for Indy to die and pass on his hat to his son in the next one," and insider is alleged to have said.

"George especially is resisting the notion but Steven is considering it. Funnily enough Harrison wanted the same for Han Solo in the final Star Wars but George put an end to it. This time he doesn't have all the say though."

However, reps for Ford have denied the claims, telling The Huffington Post that they are "false".

Indiana Jones debuted in 1981's Raiders Of The Lost Ark and has appeared in three more movies. The last, 2008's Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull, introduced LaBeouf as the character's son Mutt Williams.

Anne Hathaway competing for 'Batman' role?

Anne Hathaway has fuelled speculation that she is up for a part in the next Batman film.

The Love & Other Drugs star cryptically declined to comment on recent reports suggesting that she is one of six actresses in the running for a role in The Dark Knight Rises.

Hathaway was asked by Deadline: "There is a strong group of actresses in your age range who are mentioned for all the plum parts that come along. It's going on right now as Chris Nolan gets started on a new Batman, and you've been mentioned as a candidate for that. Do you find yourself competing against certain actresses, or any you measure yourself against?"

The actress replied: "Of course, but that has always been the case. There is always competition... I don't know how to answer that question - it feels too revealing, somehow."

Hathaway is currently preparing to host next year's Academy Awards ceremony.

Christian Bale to star in 'Nanjing Heroes'

Christian Bale will lead the cast of Chinese director Zhang Yimou's latest film Nanjing Heroes, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Zhang - who helmed the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympics and made Hero and House Of Flying Daggers - will next turn his attention to a film about the 1937 Nanjing Massacre, in which Japanese troops killed thousands of Chinese citizens in the nation's capital.

Bale will play an American priest named John who helped many Chinese escape death.

"I met Christian in America and was impressed with his serious book research for the role," Zhang said.

"It's the overall strategy for Chinese cinema to approach the world and broaden its influence but casting Bale was a coincidence because the script happened to have an English-speaking part in the lead," he added.

The $90 million production will be shot 40% in English and the rest in Mandarin Chinese

Stephen Dorff details 'Blade' spinoff idea

Stephen Dorff has said that he hopes to star in a spinoff film to Blade.

The actor played villain vampire Deacon Frost in the 1999 Blade movie. Speaking to fan blog Dark Lord Bunnykins, Dorff detailed his and Blade director Stephen Norrington's vision for a Deacon Frost movie.

"Me and Steve Norrington had a cool treatment for that, and when vampires got all this trending again, we thought we should do the adult version, more of like a Scarface Deacon Frost movie," the Somewhere star said.

He added: "Blade was such a ‘90s thing. I didn’t want to do a Blade movie, I just really wanted to take Deacon and then do a whole other thing which was much more today."

Last year, reports surfaced that Dorff would reprise his role as Frost in a prequel trilogy focused on his character.

The actor also said that he and Norrington might take the idea and make a film with a new character instead of basing it on the Blade franchise, because New Line owns the rights to Blade.

Dorff added that Norrington is "someone I really like and would love to work with again".
