According to Bloomberg, studio MGM - which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy earlier this week after rejecting a takeover bid from Lionsgate - is close to a buy-out from Spyglass Entertainment.

Stiller: 'Zoolander 2 could shoot in 2011'

Ben Stiller has revealed that production on Zoolander 2 could start as early as next year.

Speaking to MTV, the star and producer of the first film said that he is prepping for pre-production on the comedy sequel.

Mary Jane 'not in Spider-Man reboot'

The character of Mary Jane Watson will reportedly not appear in Marc Webb's upcoming reboot of the Spider-Man franchise.

Apollo 18' and 'Dark Moon' 'may clash'

Timur Bekmambetov's next science fiction project reportedly follows an uncannily similar premise to a separate film being developed by Warner Bros.

Bekmambetov's Apollo 18 is currently in the middle of production with director Trevor Caewood, having been picked up by the Weinstein Company for release in cinemas at some point in 2011.

However, Coming Soon reports that the "found footage" film, which tells an alien conspiracy story about the cancelled NASA mission, follows a very similar story to Warner Bros' upcoming film Dark Moon.

Warner Bros' offering also revolves around the popular "found footage" narrative, and focuses on a conspiracy surrounding the similarly-cancelled Apollo 17 mission.

If Dark Moon is also released in 2011, it could follow the familiar trend of opposing studios releasing similar films close together, most notably with Armageddon and Deep Impact in 1998.

Harrison Ford wants to do 'Indiana Jones 5'

Harrison Ford has revealed that he is ready to do another Indiana Jones film.

The actor spoke to Access Hollywood in advance of the premiere of his new movie Morning Glory, declaring that he hopes to make a fifth Indiana Jones instalment.

"Oh sure, I'd love to do it," he said.

He explained: "If there’s something that the three of us can agree on then I'd love to do it."

Meanwhile, Ford recently finished filming Cowboys and Aliens with Daniel Craig and Olivia Wilde.

"It's a real cowboy movie, looks like a cowboy movie, feels like a classic cowboy movie, and then things happen, and then it goes back to being a cowboy movie with this added element," Ford said. "And I think it's the kind of film that there's a real broad audience for. I'm very excited for it. I think it's going to be good."

Movie will explore Deadpool origins

Rhett Reese has revealed that the Deadpool film will delve into the character's past.

The Zombieland screenwriter, who is working with longtime writing partner Paul Werneck on the adaptation, spoke to io9 about the movie's script.

"Ultimately, I think despite how fun he is in the 'now', we really did want to explore how he became that way and why he became that way. We definitely delve into that," Reese said. "He's a warped character, and that's why he's so fun to write.

"Various writers have tackled him and I think that particular club of people have always enjoyed being able to just go places with a character that you wouldn't be able to go with any other character. Because he's completely crazy. That's the joy of writing him.

"You don't have to place any limits on decorum, or what might pop into his head, what reference he might make to pop culture. He'll go anywhere and say anything. So we really enjoy that but we also did enjoy exploring a little bit of his origin."

Ryan Reynolds is due to reprise his role as Deadpool in the movie. A director has not been named.

Patrick Wilson 'interested in Superman role'

Patrick Wilson has admitted that he would be keen to reunite with his Watchmen director Zack Snyder on Superman.

Speaking to Movieweb, the 37-year-old said that he is interested in seeing David Goyer's script for the revamped superhero franchise.

He said: "When I heard he signed on I called one of my agents and said that I hadn't talked to Zack or anything but that I just wanted to read it. I don't even care if I'm right for anything, I just want to know what he's doing."

On the possibility of taking over the Man of Steel role from Brandon Routh, Wilson added: "Oh man, who knows? I love seeing all the Jon Hamm comments and Jon is like, 'What? I'm over forty, this is ridiculous.' So I don’t know. That is such a big thing, who knows?

"I remember when Watchmen came around I didn't think I was really age appropriate or right for that but then when I jumped into it I was able to make it work. So who knows? I would be happy to do anything with Zack again."

Wilson, whose credits also include Little Children and The A-Team, also revealed that he was a fan of the DC Comics hero growing up.

"I was brought up really on the movies. I was not a comic guy so those movies just defined - especially Superman and Superman II - the superhero genre for me," he said.
