Renner: 'Joining M:I4 a dream come true'
Jeremy Renner has said that joining the cast of Mission: Impossible IV fulfills a lifelong dream.
The Hurt Locker actor told Access Hollywood that being able to work with the franchise's star Tom Cruise is a goal he has wanted to accomplish since childhood.
"It's great fun getting to run around with Tom and learn all these fantastic moves," he said. "It's like 14-year-old boys' dreams."
Renner noted that the idea of taking over as the action series's main star in the future intrigues him, but he is unsure if it will ever happen.
"That's obviously really exciting, but I don't know. I'd love for that to happen, but I can't talk about it - it's so far in the future."
He continued: "I'm going to do the task at hand, do the best I can and then on to the next. But the idea of it is fantastic."
Renner also acknowledged that one benefit of Mission: Impossible IV's physically demanding action sequences is that they will get him in shape for his next film The Avengers.
"Lucky enough, I get to do Mission: Impossible [IV] before [The Avengers] so I get to get in pretty decent shape. I'll still probably have to workout a bit to be superhero-esque and not the lazy couch potato that I feel like I am," he said.
Mission: Impossible IV will premiere in US cinemas in 2011.
