Fey, Carell plan future work after 'Date'

Tina Fey and Steve Carell have revealed that they would like to team up in the future after successfully working together on Date Night.

The Manhattan-based movie, directed by Shawn Levy, sees the stars playing married parents who unwittingly find themselves involved in a series of wild predicaments.

Fey, who plays plays Liz Lemon in 30 Rock, said that Carell was 'everything she dreamed for' after watching his performances in Little Miss Sunshine and his portrayal of Michael Scott in The Office.

"Tina completely lived up to my expectations. She's probably even nicer than I expected," Carell said in an interview with The Guardian. He added: "I have no doubt that we'll work together again. Whether it's on that or doing something else. Maybe fast food."

In agreement, Fey suggested that they could either become a "figure skating duo" or produce a film. "There's the Star Wars prequel-prequel that we wrote. George Lucas doesn't want anything to do with it, unfortunately," she said.

When asked if they have date nights with their real-life partners, Fey joked: "My husband and I are swingers. We only go on date nights with people who we meet through pet-adoption groups who are also swingers." Carrel said his ideal date was a night in with his wife, eating pizza and watching a movie.

Both stars went on to reveal that they would have taken up teaching had they not made careers in comedy. "I would have taught history and coached lacrosse," said Carell. Fey revealed: "I would have taught English and directed school plays. And befriended gay youth who needed help with their situation."

Date Night is scheduled for release on April 9 in the US and April 21 in the UK.

Scott wants 'Robin Hood' sequel

Ridley Scott is hoping to make a sequel to his upcoming Robin Hood film.

The British director told The Times that his Russell Crowe-led medieval epic leaves the door open for a follow-up feature.

He said: "It is the beginnings of how the man becomes known as Robin the Hood. You don't really get that until the last few minutes. When you realise that 'Ah, this is who he is'.

"Let's say we might presume there's a sequel. Honestly, I thought why not have the potential for a sequel, particularly if it is a genre that you absolutely love and has never been fully explored?"

Discussing a potential storyline for a second Hood picture, Scott added: "If there were to be a sequel to Robin Hood, you would have a constant enemy throughout, King John, and you would follow his reign of 17 years, and the signing of Magna Carta could be Robin's final act."

Robin Hood will open the 63rd Cannes Film Festival on May 12 before its cinema debut on May 14.

Anderson excited by 3D 'Resident Evil'

Paul WS Anderson has spoken about going 3D for the fourth instalment of the Resident Evil franchise.

The director told MTV News about his efforts to make Resident Evil: Afterlife the most impressive film in the series.

"My intention was to make this like T2 was to The Terminator," he said. "It's the same franchise, but it's bigger and it's improved and it's making a large conceptual leap.

"In terms of me coming back as a director, 3D was a big part of that. Avatar was a big influence on us.

"The difference is Avatar is predominantly a 60% animated movie, and all I have is CG. But I can't tell you how beautiful this camera system makes movies look in 3D, and how much depth you get."

Anderson directed the first Resident Evil movie, and has produced and written on every film in the franchise.
