'Hangover 2' to shoot in November?



The Hangover 2 will reportedly begin filming in November.

Speaking to Collider, director Todd Phillips said that production on the sequel to his 2009 hit The Hangover will kick off on November 1.

"Right now our goal is to start shooting November 1," Phillips said.

The filmmaker also revealed that the follow-up would most likely not take place in Thailand or Mexico, as has been rumoured.

"There was [a] rumour also that it was going to Mexico or something and neither are true," he added.

Phillips said that the November start date is contingent on the availability of stars Ed Helms and Bradley Cooper.

Pinto to star in Mendes-helmed Bond



Freida Pinto is reportedly set to become the next Bond girl under the helm of Sam Mendes.

The Slumdog Millionaire star stands to make £3 million for the 007 role, which The Mirror reports will be set in Afghanistan.

House actress Olivia Wilde is also in negotiations for the film, which will see Daniel Craig back in character for his third outing as the iconic British agent.

A source said that Mendes, who recently announced his split from Kate Winslet, has been talking about the movie for some time.

"The project has been in the pipeline for months and Freida was always the dream Bond girl, but initially she was nervous about accepting it. This is going to be the most ambitious 007 yet. Sam plans to reinvent the genre," a souce told the paper.

Writer Peter Morgan, who was behind The Queen, has written the script. Production is due to get underway this simmer and filming will take place at Buckinghamshire's Pinewood studios and on location in the Afghan capital Kabul.

Freida Pinto 'lands Bond girl role'



Freida Pinto has landed a role as the new Bond girl, according to reports.

According to The Mirror, the Slumdog Millionaire star will feature alongside Daniel Craig in the next instalment of the 007 franchise.

A source said: "Sam has been talking about Bond for months now and is so excited about it. The project has been in the pipeline for months and Freida was always the dream Bond girl.

"But initially she was nervous about accepting it. This is going to be the most ambitious 007 yet. Sam plans to reinvent the genre."

The insider added: "Peter Morgan, who wrote The Queen, has penned the first draft of the script and it promises to be visually stunning.

"It will be a typically glamorous and raunchy role and [boyfriend] Dev [Patel] has been joking to friends he is cool with seeing Freida rolling around with 007."

50 Cent loses 30lbs for new dramatic role



50 Cent has reportedly lost 30lbs for his new film Things Fall Apart.

The rapper-actor, who revealed last month that he was planning to shed 65lbs to prepare for the role of a high school football player stricken with cancer, has been photographed showing off a slimmer physique, according to Global Grind.

Production for Things Fall Apart is scheduled to begin in May.

Hudgens: 'I trained with Navy Seals'



Vanessa Hudgens has revealed that she adopted an "intense" workout regime for her upcoming film Sucker Punch.

The actress, who will star in the action movie set in the 1950s, has admitted that the workouts were gruelling and painful.

Speaking to People, Hudgens said: "I trained with Navy Seals for five months. It was the most intense thing that anyone could ever do.

"I walk around with the biggest guns you have ever seen. I was bawling my eyes out because they push you so hard.

"But it’s amazing what you find from it. When you go so far you find a certain Zen within that and you know you can do anything. It’s very empowering."

Hudgens can next be seen in the fantasy drama Beastly, which arrives in US cinemas on July 30 and in the UK on October 15.

Potts 'wants Nick Frost to play him'



Paul Potts has revealed that he would like Nick Frost to play him in a movie of his life.

Paramount Pictures holds the rights to the Britain's Got Talent winner's story and is currently working on One Chance.

"I've heard mutterings Nick Frost may play me," Potts told the Daily Star.

"I've seen his films and they're incredible."

Justin Zackham is writing the script, while Becoming Jane helmer Julian Jarrold is expected to direct the movie.

Penelope Cruz's 'Pirates 4' role revealed



Penélope Cruz's role in the next Pirates of the Caribbean film has been confirmed.

The 35-year-old actress has been cast as the daughter of Blackbeard in sequel On Stranger Tides.

"She's the daughter of the bad guy. She brings a lot of humour to it. And the fact that she's of feisty," producer Jerry Bruckheimer told MTV.

"There will be a little romance between Captain Jack and the character that Penélope plays."

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides will be released on May 20, 2011.

Malkovich, McDormand for 'Transformers 3'



Michael Bay has confirmed that John Malkovich and Frances McDormand have joined the cast of Transformers 3.

The director of the upcoming movie posted the casting news on his official website.

"We just locked in Frances McDormand and John Malkovich. Both amazing actors I've always wanted to work with," said Bay.

The helmer also announced the signing of "super funny" Ken Jeong, best known as the doctor from Knocked Up and the guy in the trunk from The Hangover.

The project begins pre-shoots in April with plans to have cameras rolling in LA, Chicago, Washington DC, Florida, Texas, Africa, Moscow and China.

Keira Knightley confirms 'Pirates' exit



Keira Knightley has explained why she has refused to reprise her role in the fourth Pirates of the Caribbean film.

The actress, who starred in the previous movies as Elizabeth Swann, revealed that she only ever intended to appear in the trilogy.

"I said when I finished the trilogy that that was going to be it - I had a wonderful time on it and I met some extraordinary people but you know, I think, for me three is enough, definitely," she said at the Laurence Olivier Awards.

Discussing future roles, Knightley added: "I've got three films coming out - London Boulevard, Never Let Me Go and Last Night - then I'm just off to do another one called The Talking Cure."

Penelope Cruz today revealed details of her part in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, which will be released on May 20, 2011.

Chris Evans signs to play Captain America



Chris Evans has signed to play Captain America, says The Hollywood Reporter.

The Push star was reportedly offered the role last week, but negotiations were delayed until today.

Marvel Studios has apparently contracted the 28-year-old to star in the upcoming The First Avenger: Captain America and to feature in several more Marvel movies, including The Avengers.

Marvel and the actor's representatives have yet to confirm this development.

Evans played Human Torch/Johnny Storm in the Fantastic Four movies and will next be seen in The Losers, arriving in US cinemas on April 23, and Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, slated for an August 13 release.

Captain America is expected to begin production this summer.

The casting of Evans ends the month-long speculation about who would take on the superhero role. John Krasinski, Chace Crawford, Mike Vogel, Michael Cassidy, Scott Porter and Ryan Phillipe were among the actors reported to be up for the part.

Fourth 'Austin Powers' film in the works



Mike Myers is reportedly working on a new Austin Powers movie.

Speaking to MTV, director Jay Roach confirmed that star Myers is developing a fourth instalment of the spy spoof franchise.

"[Mike is] working on ideas for it, people are definitely talking about it and I'm all good for it," said Roach, who directed the first three Austin Powers movies.

The filmmaker added that Myers's comical spy character would go "somewhere you haven't thought of" in the next movie.

The third and most recent chapter in the series Austin Powers in Goldmember was released in 2002.

Olivia Wilde for 'Bond' movie role?



House star Olivia Wilde is reportedly in talks to appear in the next Bond movie.

According to Ace Showbiz, Wilde would play "a double-crossing UN worker based in Afghanistan" in the new picture.

Sam Mendes (American Beauty) is attached to direct the 23rd Bond adventure, with star Daniel Craig expected to return.

Slumdog Millionaire co-star Freida Pinto was also rumoured for a role in the project, but sources say that she is not involved in the film.

"I would like to confirm that as of today, Freida Pinto has not been approached to be part of the next Bond film," a spokesperson for Pinto told India's NDTV.

No production start date has been released for the project.

'Scream 4' confirmed for spring shoot



Scream 4 will begin production this spring for a 2011 release, reports Variety.

The latest instalment in the Dimension Films horror series will see Wes Craven return to the director's chair and original stars Neve Campbell, David Arquette and Courteney Cox Arquette back to join younger cast members.

"Scream has been such an integral part of Dimension's history, and I look forward to continuing the franchise," said Dimension Films head Bob Weinstein.

The Scream franchise has taken in more than $500 million at the worldwide box office.

Scream 4 will hit cinemas on April 12, 2011.

Will Ferrell: 'Anchorman 2 is on hold'



Will Ferrell has said that plans for a sequel to his comedy Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy are currently on hold.

Speaking to Zoo magazine, Ferrell revealed that cast scheduling conflicts have stalled production on Anchorman 2.

"I thought we were doing it. I was told it was happening and now I've heard it's going to be too hard to get everyone together," he said.

Ferrell added: "Hopefully the director Adam McKay will be able to talk to all the guys individually and see if we can figure it out."

The original film was released in 2004 and co-starred Paul Rudd, Christina Applegate, Steve Carell and David Koechner.

'Spy Hunter' feature in the works



Warner Bros is reportedly developing a movie version of video game Spy Hunter.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the studio has hired writer Chad St. John to pen the script, based on the 1980s adventure game from Midway.

Spy Hunter centres on a spy/assassin trained to eliminate rogue government agents.

Directors John Woo and Dwayne Johnson both tried to launch a Spy Hunter project at Universal, but those versions never got off the ground.

Warner apparently won the rights to the title when it bought Midway for $33m (£21m) last summer.

The studio has also tapped St. John to write the upcoming Sgt. Rock, based on the DC Comics character.

'Spy Kids 4' to be released August 2011



The fourth Spy Kids movie will reportedly be released in summer 2011 in 3D.

According to eRc Box Office, director Robert Rodriguez will helm the project, officially titled Spy Kids 4: All the Time in the World.

The film will apparently star a new pair of child spies embarking on a grand adventure.

"It's different kids, not the old kids. That one's really cool and I'll probably do that in the early part of next year, March or April," Rodriguez said.

He added: "The Weinsteins really wanted to do another one and I had an idea for one, I even went back and pilfered my old original first script and found some ideas that I couldn't bring to life back then."

Spy Kids 4 is eyeing an August 2011 release date.

The most recent movie in the series Spy Kids 3D: Game Over was released in 2003.

Will Smith 'may leave Men In Black 3'



Will Smith could reportedly drop out of Men In Black 3 to star in fantasy adventure The City That Sailed.

According to Variety, Smith has offers on the table for both the Sony Pictures and 20th Century Fox projects and has yet to decide which to commit to.

Men In Black director Barry Sonnenfeld is signed up for the series's third outing, while City is still seeking a helmer to bring Andrew Niccol's (The Truman Show) script to the screen.

The latter film focuses on a New York-based magician and his estranged daughter who lives in the UK. When the girl discovers a magic room, Manhattan separates and starts to drift across the Atlantic. Smith's I Am Legend director Francis Lawrence has previously been linked to the movie.

Smith starred as Agent Jay in the first two Men In Black outings, which grossed a combined $1bn worldwide.

Knightley to star in 'Emperor's Children'



Keira Knightley, Eric Bana and Richard Gere have signed up to star in The Emperor's Children, the new movie from Noah Baumbach (The Squid And The Whale).

Based on Claire Messud's 2006 novel, the dramedy centres on three Brown University alumni who are struggling with their personal and professional lives as they reach their 30s. Gere, who last appeared in Hachi: A Dog's Tale, will take on a supporting role, reports The Wrap.

Ron Howard and Brian Grazer are producing the movie, which will begin shooting this summer.

Knightley recently confirmed that she won't reprise her role as Elizabeth Swann in Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.

Johnson calls for more female superheroes



Kick-Ass star Aaron Johnson has said that there aren't enough female superheroes.

The British actor praised the appearance of Hit Girl, a 12-year-old assassin played by Chloe Moretz, in his new comic book movie.

"Fantastic. You need a few more women superheroes and this is a young girl," he told DS. "She's the one who kicks ass really and that's what it's all about. It's good and it's funny."

Johnson added that the opportunity to play an inept vigilante drew him to Kick-Ass: "It is enjoyable being the anti-superhero. I'm this amateur superhero that's not quite as good as he wants to be. It's sort of a spoof on the Spider-Mens and Supermens. It's nice to be something different."

Angela Bassett joins 'Green Lantern'



Angela Bassett has reportedly boarded upcoming superhero movie Green Lantern.

The Oscar nominee will play DC Comics character Dr. Amanda Waller in the film, reports Variety.

Waller is a scientist who has been portrayed as a villain in various DC comic series. Pam Grier currently plays Waller on The CW's Smallville.

Bassett joins Ryan Reynolds, Mark Strong and Blake Lively in the picture, which is currently shooting in New Orleans.

Green Lantern also stars Peter Sarsgaard and Tim Robbins and is directed by Martin Campbell.

The Warner Bros film arrives in US cinemas on June 17, 2011.
