Williams nude scene embarrasses daughter

Robin Williams has said that his daughter was surprised when she saw him in a nude scene.

The Sun reports that Williams took his daughter to the premiere of The World's Greatest Dad, but forgot to mention that in one scene he dives into a swimming pool naked.

Williams explained: "She came up and said, 'Thanks for telling me, dad'. She's 20 now and she was like, 'Thanks for giving me a heads up about the nude scene!'"

The actor said that it had been his idea to strip off in the scene.

"It's at the end of the movie, where this guy is having a catharsis," Williams said. "He's getting rid of everything, why not go nude. I dive into a pool and, coming up, it's almost like a rebirth.

"It's a strange thing and, in a weird way, it worked."

However, he added that he would not like to see his daughter get naked in a film.

"I think I'd be like, 'Stop! Turn that off!' That's when hypocrisy comes up and goes, 'Payback's a bitch!'"

Mendes said: "The recession has hit the industry in a very odd way as big movies are more popular than ever.

"But the movies in the middle are almost getting squeezed out, which is the big dramas, the movies that do cost a bit of money with well-known actors in them."

Damon: 'No one offered me a job in months'

Matt Damon has revealed that he was stunned when Steven Soderbergh approached him to star in The Informant!.

The 38-year-old actor, who won an Oscar for writing Good Will Hunting with friend Ben Affleck, has said that the director offered him the film in 2001 when his career had stalled, reports STV.

Damon said: "Nobody had offered me a job in nine months. I was very aware of my position in the business. It was in that climate that he called.

"He said that he found something for us to do. I was so confused by that because nobody had offered me a job in so long. I could be the lead in a Steven Soderbergh movie? I instantly said yes."

'Twilight' star: 'Eclipse' will be dark'

Twilight star Justin Chon has said that the third film in the series will be "dark".

Speaking to E! News, Chon chatted about Eclipse's director, David Slade.

"He's done pretty dark films so that's where I see [Eclipse] really gravitating towards," he said. "More of a dark kind of moody film.

"Just shooting the scenes that I'm in, the mood is definitely different."

He continued: "David is very set on how he wants this movie to be portrayed. It's a lot more refined and maybe not as loose as the last two - at least for us humans. I can only imagine what he's doing with everyone else."

Chon added that the film's star, Robert Pattinson, is staying in a house as an extra security measure.

"Security has been increased a lot," he said. "They're a lot more protective... If Rob was to go out in public with anybody, I think it could be pretty dangerous.

"It takes him a lot more time to get in and out of places. But he doesn't get angry. He's handling things great."

The director of Jennifer's Body has revealed that Rachel Weisz will be starring in her next film.

Karyn Kusama told io9 that she is planning to make a "psychological horror".

She said: "There's a screenplay I wrote a while ago with a partner that has a sort of element of horror, although I would call it a psychological horror in the Cronenberg tradition, that I'm trying to get made.

"It definitely does fall into sort of a body horror movie that deals very, very specifically with our concept of gender."

Kusama concluded: "I can't really talk to you specifically about it other than to say that Rachel Weisz is attached to the film."

Jennifer's Body will be released in the UK on November 6.

Swayze 'asked to star in 'Zombieland'

Screenwriter Rhett Reese has revealed that Patrick Swayze was asked to cameo in upcoming horror-comedy Zombieland.

Speaking to website ShockTillYouDrop, Reese explained that his initial script drafts with Paul Wernick featured an appearance from a zombie Swayze.

"That was many years ago, before he got sick," said Reese. "It was [going to be] a Patrick Swayze zombie."

Reese revealed that lead characters Columbus (Jesse Eisenberg) and Tallahasse (Woody Harrelson) were to encounter Swayze in an homage to Ghost and Dirty Dancing.

He said: "They got attacked by him zombified and we had these wonderful moments where they found a potter's wheel and there's Columbus on the wheel and these other hands come up behind him and it's Patrick Swayze the zombie.

"Ultimately, they fight and Patrick bull-rushes Tallahassee who grabs him and lifts him into the air, à la Jennifer Grey, and smashes him into a pillar."

Depp hints at 'Pirates 4' troubles

Johnny Depp has suggested that the next Pirates Of The Caribbean movie may be in jeopardy.

The actor appeared with former Disney chairman Dick Cook at the D23 Expo earlier this month to announce the fourth instalment in the adventure franchise. However, Cook was fired from Disney last week after 29 years at the company.

"There's a fissure, a crack in my enthusiasm at the moment... It was all born in that office," Depp told the Los Angeles Times, referring to a verbal agreement he made with Cook about the new Pirates film.

Depp hinted that he had only accepted an offer to return for a fourth movie, which currently has no script or director, because of his friendship with Cook.

"He said, 'We're thinking about doing this Pirates Of The Caribbean movie'," Depp added. "I said I was in. This was before there was a script or anything."

Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, which will see Jack Sparrow search for the Fountain of Youth, is scheduled to be released in 2011.

Spielberg scared of 'Paranormal Activity'?

Steven Spielberg reportedly believed that his copy of horror film Paranormal Activity was haunted.

The low-budget movie about demonic possession in a suburban home - made for $15,000 (£9,270) and filmed by Oren Peli over a week in 2006 - was presented to the Academy Award-winning director in 2008 as a potential deal for DreamWorks and Paramount Pictures, the Los Angeles Times reports.

It is understood that Spielberg took a DVD copy of the film to his Pacific Palisades home to view, while not long after he watched it the door to his bedroom locked from the inside and a locksmith had to be summoned. He then supposedly returned the disc back to the studio in a garbage bag.

However, the studio decided against remaking the original after audiences walked out of a test screening and claimed that it was too scary.

Paramount plans to release the film in 13 US university towns on Friday. A wider release is scheduled for mid-October.

"The movie could be stratospheric, or it could just become a cult favourite," said IM Global's Stuart Ford, who sold Paranormal Activity to more than 50 foreign distributors.

"It just depends on whether the studio can catch a wave."

"I quite liked taking the p*ss out of the fact I do study a lot. It was just a bit sardonic."

Millar addresses 'Superman' rumours

Writer Mark Millar has addressed rumours regarding his involvement with Warner Bros.' next Superman movie.

It was previously reported that the Wanted co-creator believes that his proposed screenplay for the film will not be adapted because the studio cannot afford him. However, Miller now claims that he was misquoted.

"I don't think I said they couldn't afford me now," he wrote on his messageboard. "If I did I was joking because writing Superman would be a massive payday so if I said that I was obviously laughing at the time. It's possible though as I like being glib."

A big screen adaptation of Miller's Kick Ass is currently in the works, due to premiere in April. The creator recently promised sequels to both the movie and the comic book series.

Earlier this year, Warner Bros. and DC Comics were issued a mandate to produce a new Superman film by 2011, following a legal battle with the heirs of the characters' creators.
