Season 1 Episode Guide



1. Pilot

Grace Hanadarko is an Oklahoma City police detective who has spiraled along a path of self-destruction. After witnessing a horrific tragedy she turns to alcohol with a vengeance. She combines her drinking with driving and the results have her striking a man out for a walk. Distraught, Grace asks for help and it arrives in the form of an angel named Earl. Earl offers to help Grace get back on track in her life. As far as she has strayed off path, it won't be easy for Grace to turn her life around.



2. Bring It On, Earl

While hunting deer, Grace and Ham get called into work on their day off. Oilman Beau Grady was murdered with a tire iron. Grace unravels a love triangle between Beau, his business partner, and his wife -- a triangle that reflects Grace's relationships with Ham and Butch. For a pair of shoes, an informant named Pup supplies our officers with a man who may be helpful in solving the crime. Unfortunately, he turns out to be Lieutenant Yukon's brother, and the results are disastrous. Rhetta starts an Earl file in the office, based on angel evidence Grace brings in. Earl attempts to get Grace closer to God by any means necessary -- even wrestling her in Athens to prove a point. Leon and Grace try, but can't remember what Earl looks like.



3. Bless Me, Father, For I Have Sinned

Grace makes breakfast for her nephew Clay, and gives him some tips for an upcoming kissing party. A motel manager is murdered -- the housekeeper suspected seeks protection in the Church and claims self defense. Captain Perry (Grace's friend from vice) takes the place of Lieutenant Yukon in Major Crimes. Grace gets some helpful hints from Pippa-the-prostitute and a moral nutcase who videotapes hookers and johns. Earl sets up a multitude of religious shrines in Grace's home hoping she'll pick out a path that suits her best. Perry gives Butch a hard time regarding his University of Texas belt and memorabilia. Grace continues her affair with Ham.



4. Keep Your Damn Wings Off My Nephew

A 17-year-old devout Christian comes under attack just days before he's scheduled to testify in a murder trial. In order to ensure his safety, Grace allows him to move in with her. But Grace can only handle so much preaching, so she ropes the guys into helping her watch over him. Grace gets pissed when Earl uses Leon Cooley and her nephew, Clay, to get her attention.



5. Would You Want Me to Tell You?

Grace and Ham play cops and robbers with toy guns. Grace's favorite Aunt Cathy comes to town has a run in with Earl, clashes with Betty and reveals some shocking news. But first -- Rhetta, Grace, and Aunt Cathy get drunk and remember old times. Meanwhile, cattle tycoon Alvin Green's world begins to crumble after his lucky bull statue is stolen. He insists Major Crimes take the case. When Grace's father has a fire station named after him, Grace's family comes together for the dedication ceremony. Henry's cat dies and Grace comforts him the only way she knows how.



6. And You Wonder Why I Lie


The death of an alleged call girl in a flight attendant's uniform leads Grace and the guys to investigate a notorious Oklahoma crime family. Grace is finally confronted by Ham's wife about the affair. A financially-strapped Rhetta gets excited about making two grand as an expert witness. And Grace and Rhetta hatch a secret plan for Rhetta to meet Earl.



7. Yeehaw, Geepaw

Grace and the guys investigate the murder of a crispy critter in the Oklahoma countryside and Bobby soon discovers the deceased was one of his mentees. Grace enlists the help of her Native American grandfather, Geepaw, to help with the case, but is shocked when she sees how quickly his health is deteriorating. Grace and her sister, Paige, fight over many things, including Geepaw's future in a nursing home. Earl tries to make Grace realize the importance of family...and Grace and Butch rekindle their passion.



8. Everything's Got A Shelf Life

Grace and the team combine efforts to hunt down a killer, but their success is met with the tragic death of a well-regarded policeman. The death weighs heavy on Grace and forces her to confront her mortality issues. Meanwhile, death-row inmate Leon is allowed time with his own issues, but he must deal with the possibility that his ex-wife's boyfriend will end up adopting his son.



9. A Language of Angels

The squad investigates the murder of a young woman who was tortured by her killer. Elements of the crime remind Grace of a crime that happened 11 years ago, a crime that hits eerily close to home for her. Meanwhile, Rhetta hypothesizes that the items Earl leaves behind after his angelic visits to Grace might have some sort of hidden meaning. She begins to investigate what that meaning might be, even going to death-row inmate Leon Cooley to see if Earl has left any items for him. Rhetta is then shocked by what she discovers as she begins putting things together.



10.        It's Better When I Can See You


After a deadly school bus accident in which several children are killed, the team's investigation turns up information about a recall on the bus' rear axle. Just as Grace goes to the bus barn to question the owners, tornadoes rip through Oklahoma City, trapping both Grace and her prime suspect together in a collapsed building. Meanwhile, death row inmate Leon Cooley makes a major turn in his religious journey.



11.        This Is Way Too Normal for You

Georgie, a man with Down Syndrome, tries to rob a drive-in diner with a wooden gun but winds up getting shot and killed by another customer with a real gun. The investigation leads to the special home in which Georgie was living where his friend Andrew quickly becomes the key to solving the mystery. But Andrew's own disabilities makes it difficult for Grace to get the information she needs to solve the case. Meanwhile, Grace begins dating Jack, the grown son of her elderly, voyeuristic neighbor. Jack is an atheist, which provides a unique challenge for Earl.



12.        Is There a Scarlet Letter on My Breast?


A court trial for the murderer of a young woman is about to begin, and the brash defense attorney must go over the entire investigation with a fine-toothed comb, even if it means digging into the officers' personal lives. Grace's own sex life is put on display for all to see just as she is supposed to attend her nephew Clay's upcoming confirmation. And Grace's partner, Ham, decides to make his true feelings known to Grace.



13.        Tacos, Tulips, Ducks and Spices

Pictures of Grace's sister, Paige, talking to an unknown man are found in a burned vehicle. At first, Grace suspects that Paige is having an affair, but later she uncovers a different story about the man in the photos. Rhetta tries to make sense of the various items Earl has left behind for Grace and soon discovers the shocking truth that devastates Grace and forces her to face her painful past.

Season 2 Episode Guide



1. Have a Seat, Earl

While off duty, Grace chases down a subject who turns out to be one of the FBI's Most Wanted. Afterwards, she is hailed a hero. But nobody is aware of what she was really doing on her day off, a shocking secret involving the priest who molested her as a child.

2. A Survivor Lives Here

Grace is called to a crime scene that happens to be the home of Paul Shapiro, whose father died in the bombing of the Murrah Federal Building. Since then, Paul has been in and out of trouble. At the crime scene, there is blood everywhere, but no body. Ham has separated from his wife and moved out on his own, giving him and Grace more freedom to be together. They wind up in a ketchup-and-mustard situation that soon becomes a running joke in the squad room.

3. A Little Hometown Love

Ed Ligardi, who serves as evidence supervisor for the squad, turns up dead in a bathroom stall at Louie's, the local cop hang-out. And it just so happens Grace and Ham are fooling around in a stall just five feet away when the murder happens. But the case takes an even more bizarre turn when the prime suspect offers up a rather strange confession. Also, Ham's brother, Ralph, comes to visit before being shipped off to war. And Grace has a strange dream about Leon Cooley, who turns out to be having dreams about Grace.

4. It's a Fierce, White-Hot, Mighty Love

An impending divorce, a gambling habit, a young boy acting out and a teenage girl dating a rebellious stoner set the stage for tragedy when the mother of two children goes missing for several days. Clay, Grace's nephew, joins the OCPD Explorers program against his father's wishes and confronts Ham about his affair with Grace. And Butch becomes the target of a possible stalker who also happens to work closely with the police department.

5. Do You Love Him?

The door to Grace's Porsche gets knocked off when a drunk driver slams into it, the impact letting loose thousands of dollars in cash that had been hidden by a previous owner. Among the owners questioned is legendary Oklahoma and Dallas Cowboys football coach Barry Switzer, guest-starring as himself. The investigation eventually entails a murdered highway patrol officer and a wealthy developer. Meanwhile, Ham's little brother Ralph disappears in Afghanistan hitting the entire squad firmly in the gut. And Ham's older brother, Nick, expresses strong disapproval of Grace just as Ham decides it's time to ask her out on a real date.

6. Are You an Indian Princess?

The squad investigates the brutal murder of a woman and the abduction of her son, a case that has everyone on edge. They work frantically around the clock to locate the boy before any harm comes to him. When they finally find him, it's everything they can do to keep their passionate feelings about the case in check. Ham has an especially difficult time controlling himself as he continues to struggle with his personal loss.

7. You Are My Partner

The death of a young Mexican woman, who is dropped off at the hospital by a known white supremacist, has political implications that could derail a legislative vote on illegal immigration. Bobby goes undercover, which takes the entire squad and his own wife and family by surprise. And Ham continues to struggle with a family tragedy.

Season 3 Episode Guide



1. We're Already Here
Grace's investigation causes Neely to get hurt and Butch has a surprise.

2. She's a Lump
A suicide note causes Grace to question a member of an alcoholic group.Grace tries to get to neely While Rhetta has to find away to keep the farm.

3. Watch Siggybaby Burn
After a bomb goes off in her brother Johnny's church, and someone takes potshots at her brother Leo, Grace and her fellow detectives deduce that someone is trying to get to her through her family.

4. What Would You Do?
There is a brutal home invasion which the squad investigates as a part of a string of invasions, but things seem different with this particular case.

5. Mooooo
Grace has to figure out why cows are dead and deal with Jewish Law at the same time.

6. Am I Going To Lose Her?
Everybody rushes to find Grace after she vanishes while pursuing a suspect.

7. That Was No First Kiss
The team investigates the death of a man shot at home. The crime takes them back to one that took place earlier in Oklahoma. Grace and Kate get to use their gambling ability in order to solve the crime. Bobby gets reconnect with his father and Ham gets in touch with a spirit. Grace finds something out about Ronnie.

8. Popcorn
The bizarre murder of a drug company whistle blower becomes a potential national news story for Butch’s reporter girlfriend, Kendra Burke. Grace’s brother Leo is convinced his next door neighbor is keeping a dead body in his house. And Johnny pressures Grace to arrange a chance for him to finally meet Earl.

9. Looks Like A Lesbian Attack To Me

Grace and her brother finally find neely who has been missing you for a while after finally waking up from her coma. The death of a police officer gets the team’s secret’s that may provide the answer as to how he died. Rhetta hopes the changes she makes will get rid of her troubles at home.

10. Am I Gonna Die Today?
A prominent doctor fatally wounds an intruder in his house, but Grace feels the doctor's story isn't exact. Ham breaks some interesting news to Grace, and Earl tells her she will need to help Neely.

11. Let's Talk
After surviving a fall, Grace decides to talk with God. But before she can do that a stranger will tell increase something. Ham and his dad don't see eye to eye now that Ham is involved with his brother's widow.

12. Hear The Birds
As Grace continues to deal with falling from a building, she also has to deal with the death of her grandfather. The squad the has to figure out which of the ranchers started a dispute and Rrhetta learns of a secret about her daughter.

13. You Can't Save Them All, Grace
A friend of Grace's doesn't want any help in the possible murder of her husband. The squad has little time to waste in trying to track down a missing person with brain damage.

14. I Killed Kristin
Grace gets to see a new side of her nephew because the rock band is related to the murder case. Neely lives next door to Grace and begins withdrawal with help from Earl. Rhetta continues where she left off with Ronnie.

15. So Help You God
Grace may be able to tell god all the things she has done through her life because of her bond with Earl.

16. Loose Men in Tight Jeans
Everybody can't figure out why Capt Perry seems to be on an edge all the time. Rhetta and Ronnie learn to communicate better since the start of their relationship with Johnny.

17. You think I'm Gonna eat my Gun?
Grace must cope with survivor's guilt after killing a little girl named Esperanza. Captain Perry has an announcement that could change everything. The squad looks into a murder mystery.

18. I need You to call Earl
Grace has trouble dealing with a food issue and doesn't go to anybody for help to deal with it. Neely's having trouble moving when her drug problem spirals out of control. A friend of Butch's needs help getting out of a tough situation.

19. I'm Gonna Need a Big Night Light
Grace returns to Oklahoma City, rejuvenated and with a new perspective on how to deal with crime. And the family is still trying to grasp what exactly happened.
