Castle Season 1-8 General Discussion Thread (Spoilers)

First season

Just started watching the other day, watched the pilot, went mmm, not bad.  Always been a big fan of Nathan from back when he was in Buffy then of course Firefly and DR Horrible...

I like the wit and interactions between Castle and almost everyone else.  My favorite is his and his daughter's relationship.  Guess I am an old softie, because I think it is one of the best portrayal of a single father and his child I have ever seen.

Under The Gun

Good episode, watching Castle still get jealous, the ex-wife isn't going to last.  And again, I have to say that the interactions between Castle and his daughter are just wonderful.

Good episode, it made me wish  I lived in a city again and find a steampunk club.  The testing of the guns was great

3x05 Anatomy of a Murder

Interesting twist, a couple of separate crimes.  Like the look of semi-realization on Castle's face at the end when Becket says she would get him out.

I agree about the ex, even her saying it was from the both of them didn't get over my dislike of the situation.  She isn't Alexis's mother and I think that she needs to let Castle know what gifts she are giving her.

No, Gina Cowell is the publisher, his second ex-wife, his first wife is Meredith, and she has only appeared in the 1st season episode "Always Buy Retail"

Well I just remembered that her mother is an actress and the ex he is dating is his publisher.

A decent episode, and I agree with bala about seeing the bad guy get away is a different ending.

All the woman swarming castle at the strip club was amusing

And Hans, think that was the best part of the episode, the way he went from prissy Hans to the American accent back to the "Hans" to finish it up

3x08 Murder Most Fowl

Decent episode, liked how the murdered guy's invention saved the day

Lovett was very good as a MIB, and I agree that the Firefly reference was great , to my knowledge that is the second one in the series, and I forget what episode, but I think I caught a Buffy reference once also, but I could have been wrong about that one.

And I got me a signature, I think, I love the line

He wore the costume, and Alexis made a comment like 'didn't you wear that 6 years ago' ,  That was the halloween episode last  year, and was so full of references to various actor's previous works, it was almost a tribute show

Like the scotch, the story and Becket's one-liners.

I found the 1st season to be nice, in some ways there is a lot of intelligence in the scripts, and like I said before the relationship between Castle and his daughter is fantastic

You are right, the two of them have the same dynamic as moonlighting

I found it funny, started a little slow, then picked right up.  Her impersonation of Becket was funny, especially at the board, with everyone hiding and watching her.  And Castle not taking the fantasy, maybe he is gay: lol

Yeah she really wanted to get into the roll, but she didn't bother to learn it was a book, read it or even know who wrote the thing.  Kinda Lame.
Having met a few actors, this is really believable.  Many do not read the book that many movies are based on, heck even a few directors have said that they did not read the books that the scripts are based on

I liked this episode, especially since I love magic.  The quarter into a 20 was priceless.

You are 100% correct Barb.  It would be a shame if the writers put the two of them together (and it has been done, that's why we know viewers are lost.  But sometimes writers are stupid and think that this show will be different.)

You know something I miss from this season is the card games.
