Smallville Season 7-10 General Discussion Thread (Spoilers)

Glad I am not the only one.  Way too much going on in one episode.  Like seeing Jonathon back, but at the same time, why? Sometimes I think they put the mystical and supernatural in Clark's life too much.

I am just waiting to see how they will make everyone forget about Clark being the blur when he dons the suit.  In the canon only a few know CK and Supe are the same unless they skip over the years of him playing the identity game with Lois

At the end, was a dark, vague-like smoke thing.  And from reading, it's a hint on one of this season's villains, all I'm gonna say.

I agree that it feels a little incomplete, also again I felt too much in one episode (Louis & Clark storyline, deadshot & the suicide squad, oliver & chloe, oliver & suicide squad, the Cat Grant plot, Hawkman plot.)  It was decent and he is trying out new looks guess he took up clothesmaking also.

Supergirl

Well I always get a kick out of the the references to the comics, tv series and movies of past Superman they throw in.  So Godfrey on the radio, "Truth, Justice, and the American Way".  Calling Kara Ubergirl and also Power Girl and also Maiden of Might, and Louis saying Godfrey has a dark side.   Love they did Kara in street clothes real similar to her classical costume.  And for any real comic book geeks, the club Desaad.

Clark has been trying to fly for a while, one episode last season had him jumping off a building trying to fly and in season 7 Kara also tried to teach him.  I don't think, other than glimpses in dreams and seeing the costume (which is at the fortress encased in crystal, we will see him wear it until the finale, just my opinion, but it has been said by past producers and writers that the show is Smallville, not Superman, and is all about him becoming.

About the no flight, no tights clause, that was from the original Smallville creators, Gough and Millars, with their departure, no one knows if the rule holds.  There where hints in the 9 finale that sometime in this season it might be broken, again my guess is the finale.  Though with this episode the whole point of him trying to fly is to become the savior Jorel  wants so he can defeat the darkness, who is not gone, as some of the promos and talks from the writers and cast say.

Homecoming

Well that was nice.  Not a great episode, but very touching and really move some things up.  It was nie to see Brainiac 5, I was pretty shocked to see him in the councilor's office (if it was in any previews, I don't watch commercials, so miss that)  And to see the headline in the future, and guess the no flight rule was broken much quicker than I thought.

I don't know about having her memory wiped, I was thinking the same thing, but I think this time it might stick as we are closing in to the end.  And about Tess loving Alexander, it might help, I don't think Alexander is going to be Lex reborn, as I am pretty sure he still alive just stashed away trying to heal.  The whole Lex story is that he originally was a good, gentle person, who cracked.

Now it might be Welling trying for hype, but recently he said the Rosenbaum is interested in making an appearance and they are trying to work it out.

It was an ok episode.  If I was Alexander, I would have kept the whole CK/Lex thing hidden until he was cured.  Don't understand why the blue Kryptonite fire, water didn't kill CK, as it makes him mortal and he should have not only burned his back, but burned up.  And the bed scene at the end, I am still of the opinion of Larry Niven, I don't believe that he could completely control himself  as every part of him is "super"

Here is a video adaption of Niven's "Man of Steel, Woman of Kleenex", looked for a text copy of it, but there is no legal ones on line (the video the exact wording of the article, just with goofy video)

Well not always a kid thing, could be a Lex thing, the arrogance and super villain monologue that abounds in comics

Odd, it is no longer available, well if you ever get a chance to read the article do it, it is so funny, but logically (I know superheroes and logic don't work all the time) it makes a lot of sense too.

I find it perplexing also, I know he told Chloe that he could control himself, but, every part of him is "super", so he should be as fast as a speeding bullet and just as dangerous (If you know what I mean).
I know it is not real, people fly, turn invisible, have strength of 10 men and such, but I still feel that in a fantasy, some type of physics, other than "I learned to control myself" should apply.

But this is modern entertainment, we have to have sex in it.

Maybe we will get the Justice back together to go after the Suicide Squad and I am still waiting on more of Darkseid

Well they were went after the anti-vigilante building because they are the for heroes (though in a more violent way than CK) the Suicide Squad consists of super power beings.

I don't think that it is very strange, but being an old comic book geek, I have been waiting for more of Darkseid, and Granny and her Furies were a nice surprise.  I also kind of figured Tess was in some way a Luthor.

You know seeing Jor-el again and og course Lara-El, I had a realization, how could 2 Blonds have a dark hair child   Now that is a bit strange (or dying hair was common on Krypton)

Nice seeing AC again.  Mera, his wife doesn't have the same powers, her only power is the control of water, though like him, heat (drying out) hurts her.  In the comics, she is from the water dimension.

Seeing Michael Hogan was a bonus, though he played Slade Wilson, exactly like Col. Tigh , Even ending up with only 1 eye, I guess this is the beginning of being Deathstroke.

Love seeing more superheroes and villians from the comics.  Darkseid is pulling up a whole list of them
I am not asking you to dye your hair red and call me Mulder, I would simple ask that you could consider the possibility...
