All I get is a black screen with a little box in the left, won't open.  Can anyone help?  I installed Firefox.

Am I correct in assuming you're trying to watch on www.vip.tv-video.net?  If so, if you aren't a VIP member yet, you would only be able to view the programs in Free Shows.  I recommend you use a free show to troubleshoot your RealPlayer anyway.
