About the Show:
A chance meeting leads photographer Sara Hadley (Hannah Ware) and Attorney Jack McAllister (Stuart Townsend) to an undeniable instant attraction. Sara’s husband, Drew (Chris Johnson), is a successful prosecutor with political aspirations. Jack is married to Elaine (Wendy Moniz) the daughter of his boss Thacher Karsten (James Cromwell). When Karsten’s brother-in-law Lou is murdered, all evidence points to Karsten’s son T.J. (Henry Thomas). Jack, the company’s lead council, will have to defend him. For Sara’s prosecutor husband Drew, this is the kind of high-profile murder case that can secure his political future. Just as Sara and Jack’s affair is starting, the lovers will find themselves in an impossible situation—on opposite sides of a murder investigation.

Season 1



Episode 1: Pilot (Sep/29/2013)
A chance meeting between Sara Hanley, a professional photographer, and Jack McAllister, a top attorney, leads to an instant and undeniable attraction. Sara's husband, Drew Stafford, is a successful prosecutor with political aspirations, and the couple has a seven-year-old, Oliver. Unbeknownst to Sara, Jack is in-house counsel to a powerful but somewhat shady entrepreneur, Thatcher Karsten, and is married to Thatcher's daughter, Elaine. Sara and Jack both realize something is missing in their marriages, and fight against the realization that they've met their soul mates in one another.

As Sara and Jack struggle with their feelings and their guilt about their families, Thatcher's brother-in-law, Lou, is murdered, and all evidence points to Thatcher's mentally challenged son, T.J.. Sara discovers she's in the middle of a nightmare when she learns that Drew will be the prosecuting attorney in this high-profile murder case, which can secure his political future, and that Jack will be the lawyer for the defense. The lovers find themselves in an impossible situation - on opposite sides of a murder investigation.

Episode 2: ...Except When the Bear is Chasing You (Oct/06/2013)
Still reeling from the discovery of who Jack really is, Sara decides to recommit herself to her marriage. Meanwhile, Jack comes face to face with Sara's husband, Drew, in the murder investigation that has shaken the Karsten family to its core.

Episode 3: If You Want the Fruit... (Oct/13/2013)
Hot, heart-racing fantasies throw Sara off balance as she attempts to resist the powerful pull of her affair with Jack. As Drew tries to get to the bottom of Lou's murder, he has a heated face off against Jack in court for T.J.'s bail hearing. Reeling from her husband's death, Connie fears for her own life, and with good reason. Meanwhile, Thatcher tangles with Jack about past recriminations and guilt surrounding T.J.'s car accident years ago

Episode 4: ...That is Not What Ships Are Built (Oct/20/2013)
Drew confronts Sara about her recent whereabouts, but does he already know about Jack? And with the hold on his kingdom beginning to slip, Karsten resorts to unsavory tactics in an attempt to stay in power. Meanwhile, TJ tries to find his independence, even if it means running with the wrong crowd.

Episode 5: ...Nice Photos (Oct/27/2013)
Sara and Jack's secret trysts cause Jack to make an effort at home and Sara to blossom with a new sense of self-confidence. Meanwhile, T.J.'s new friend, Rodney, finds a crucial piece of evidence in Uncle Lou's murder investigation. As Drew's case of corruption and bribery is crumbling, he tries to coerce Brandy in a last-ditch attempt to trap Karsten

Episode 6: ...The Things That Drive Men Crazy (Nov/03/2013)
Sara's concern about Jack's and her relationship being exposed intensifies. Jack makes a difficult confession that leaves him vulnerable and exposed, but brings him closer to Sara than ever. Meanwhile, Drew obsessively tries to find out what his wife's been up to

Episode 7: ...We're Not Going to Baileys Harbor (Nov/10/2013)
Neither Sara nor Jack's families will ever be the same after Drew's discovery of the affair. As Sara and Jack attempt to navigate their newly fractured relationships with their spouses and children, Elaine seeks support from an unlikely source. Meanwhile, a despondent Drew discovers information that could reopen Lou Mrozeks murder investigation, and Zarek, anxious to please Karsten, resorts to drastic measures to deal with Brandy

Episode 8: ...One More Shot (Nov/17/2013)
TJ becomes reckless after a traumatic event leaves him unable to cope. His predicament forces Karsten to confront his past and take drastic measures in the present. Meanwhile, as Valerie and Victor celebrate their birthday, Jack realizes he's become disconnected from his family. Sara and Drew struggle with the new dynamic at home and how it impacts their son

Episode 9: It's Just You and Me Now… (Dec/08/2013)
Jack takes Sara on a romantic road trip even though the FBI is hot on his trail. Meanwhile, T.J.'s behavior goes from reckless to dangerous as he struggles to deal with Brandy's death and find his place at his father's company; and Karsten finds an unlikely ally to settle a score with Jack.

Episode 10: ...Number 16 (Dec/15/2013)
Elaine and Aidan struggle with defining their relationship as they continue to get to know each other. Jack takes a big step in his relationship with Sara but it may all be for naught as the murder investigation looms. Karsten continues to whisper in Drew's ear about Lou Mrozek's murder, while Drew's reignited interest in the case leads to a shocking result

Episode 11: ...the Karsten Way (Jan/05/2014)
Jack's confession sends shockwaves through the McAllister and Karsten families. As Elaine, Valerie, Victor and TJ come to grips with a future of Jack being in prison, the truth about Lou Mrozek's murder finally becomes clear. Meanwhile, Sara is resolved to exonerate her lover and tries to find evidence to clear him by revisiting their past

Episode 12: Sharper than a Serpent's Tooth... (Jan/12/2014)
While Jack and Elaine struggle to navigate this turbulent time with their kids, Sara and Drew may be falling back into old habits. Meanwhile, Jack and Drew decide to put their differences aside and work together in the case against Karsten, revealing hidden truths

Episode 13: …A Better Place (Jan/19/2014)
In the aftermath of Sara's shooting, the two families are forced to confront decisions they've made, as well as look to the future
