Millennium was a television series that premiered on Friday October 25, 1996. The series was Chris Carter's much anticipated follow-up to the very popular The X-Files. Millennium focused on the work of ex-FBI profiler Frank Black, who had retired but was brought back in as a consultant. Frank had a special ability to see into the minds of serial killers and to get into their heads. He also worked for a mysterious organization called the Millennium Group which seemed to take a special interest in serial killers and end of the world prophecy. In the first season, Frank lived in Seattle with his wife Catherine and daughter Jordan. The show focused on Frank's work as a profiler. He spent most of his time in the first season trying to solve serial murder cases. During the second season, the show primarily on Frank's relationship with the Millennium Group. He separated from his wife after his violent rescue of her from a stalker. Frank learned that the Millennium Group was a secret society that believed that the world was coming to an end. During that season, Frank spent much of his time working with Millennium Group member Peter Watts and fellow investigator Laura Means. After the death of his wife at the end of the second season, Frank severed all connection with the Millennium Group and returned to work with the FBI. With the help of special agent Emma Hollis, he began to investigate the Millennium Group itself. The show changes direction again this season, however much of the long term questions that were raised during the first two seasons are answered. The show was canceled at the end of the third season

Season 1 Episode Guide



Episode 1: Pilot (Oct/25/1996)
Frank Black a retired police consultant, who once worked for the FBI has just returned to his hometown with his wife and daughter. He decides to offer his support in a case and is given resources by a mysterious organization called the Millennium Group. Frank must catch the murderer with his ability to see out of the eyes of the killers. But this case draws him back into a world which he was trying to escape. But will Frank be able to save the latest victim in time before it is too late?

Episode 2: Gehenna (Nov/01/1996)
When human ashes are found in a local park, Frank Black joins an investigation that leads to a cult that kills it's unwilling members. When Frank gets closer to the cult leader he sees the force that may be influencing the killers he seeks.

Episode 3: Dead Letters (Nov/08/1996)
Against the initial resistance of the Group, Frank travels to Portland, Oregon, to investigate a murder at an animal shelter. He meets with Jim Horn, a profiler and candidate for the Millennium Group. But Horn is distracted by his imminent divorce, and there is tension between him and Frank. When the killer strikes again, Horn is losing control, and Frank not only has to catch the killer who leaves grisly messages on his victims, but he has to contend with Horn as well who is more than ready to stop the murderer with terminal prejudice

Episode 4: The Judge (Nov/15/1996)
Frank is called in to find a murderer who sent his victim's wife his severed tongue. Frank thinks the murders are connected to other unexplained serial killings where body parts were also sent through the post. Soon Frank comes to realize that the serial killers are being recruited by a man calling himself 'The Judge', who has a satanic way of dealing out justice..

Episode 5: 522666 (Nov/22/1996)
Frank and Peter assist an FBI investigation when a mad bomber terrorizes Washington, D.C, by blowing up buildings then to come out looking like a hero, the bomber goes back into the wreckage to save victims. Frank and Peter help search for the bomber whose attention starved personality may be the key to his undoing.

Episode 6: Kingdom Come (Nov/29/1996)
A desperate man sets out on a killing spree taking revenge on the holy men that he believes have led him to stray. Frank can see the man's sense of faith and the lack his faith could be the key to stopping this killer. Frank then puts himself in danger when he walks into a hostage situation at a small town church.

Episode 7: Blood Relatives (Dec/06/1996)
A juvenile delinquent begins taking advantage of families grieving the loss of a loved one with the support of a sadistic friend to a murderous end. Frank Black puts himself in the troubled boy's frame of mind to find answers as Catherine looks elsewhere, into the boy's tortured family life.

Episode 8: The Well Worn Lock (Dec/20/1996)
Catherine aids a woman who has been sexually abused by her father for twenty-three years. Catherine however finds it hard to find anyone who will take this case to court, so she turns to Frank for emotional support.

Episode 9: Wide Open (Jan/03/1997)
A young girl whose parents were brutally murdered becomes the last hope in finding a killer. So Catherine encourages Jordan to speak out to the young girl and try to get her to get over the awful experience she has been through. But Bletcher is determined to let the relive what happened so they can get more evidence about what actually happened

Episode 10: The Wild And The Innocent (Jan/10/1997)
Frank searches for answers when a couple kidnap a killer-in-hiding and engage in their own murder spree. Frank must track them down before they find the baby the girl's father sold to a childless couple, because Frank fears they could be next victims.

Episode 11: Weeds (Jan/24/1997)
Frank pursues a killer who kidnaps teenagers from an upper middle-class neighborhood and forces them to drink human blood. After one is killed and the other is returned home unharmed because his father admitted to making a mistake, Frank is forced to set up a trap to capture the killer before he can harm the third victim.

Episode 12: Loin Like A Hunting Flame (Jan/31/1997)
A pharmacist drugs unsuspecting couples and forces them to enact his sexual fantasies that he cannot carry out with his wife. Will Frank and the Millennium Group be able to end these crimes before he can strike again?

Episode 13: Force Majeure (Feb/07/1997)
The Millennium Group investigates the suicides of identical twin girls born seven years apart. They soon find out that a man and his bizarre family of cloned daughters are preparing for the apocalyptic disaster of May 5th, 2000, when a celestial alignment of the planets take place.

Episode 14: The Thin White Line (Feb/14/1997)
When Frank links two seemingly unrelated murders he finds that a killer seems to be committing murders in the exact style of serial killer Richard Hance, whom Frank put behind bars twenty years ago. The case warrants Frank's attention, and he is forced to his personal demons before he can help Bletcher track down the copycat killer

Episode 15: Sacrament (Feb/21/1997)
Frank Black's private and professional lives clash when his sister-in-law is abducted by a convicted sex offender at her child's baptism. Although Bletcher orders him to stay out of the investigation because he is too close to the case, he cannot help but become involved. However, even his extraordinary abilities might not be enough to find his brother's wife...

Episode 16: Covenant (Mar/21/1997)
Frank is asked to develop a psychological profile on a sheriff who confessed to murdering his entire family. Frank begins to think the story does not add up and finds some inconsistencies in the case.

Episode 17: Walkabout (Mar/28/1997)
Frank suffers from memory loss after participating in a mysterious clinical drug trial that resulted in at least one death. Frank is forced to remember what happened as he slowly begins to piece it together in his mind.

Episode 18: Lamentation (Apr/08/1997)
Frank investigates when he is called in by the Millennium Group to assist them in tracking down an escaped serial killer that Frank helped put behind bars years ago. The killer, Dr. Ephraim Fabricant, was abducted from a hospital while donating a kidney to his dying sister. But during the search, Frank comes face-to-face with an even more terrifying enemy which terrorizes his family.

Episode 19: Powers, Principalities, Thrones & Dominions (Apr/25/1997)
Frank is drawn into a murder investigation based around Satanic murders that somehow involve a mysterious attorney and a man who claims to be Bob Bletcher's killer. While on the case the Millennium Group get caught in a battle between good and evil.

Episode 20: Broken World (May/02/1997)
Frank is called in to investigate the kidnapping of the owner of a horse-farm. Frank then hunts down a serial-killer-in-the-making who takes pleasure in slaughtering horses, but Frank fears that horses may only be the beginning.

Episode 21: Maranatha (May/19/1997)
Frank and Peter are called in by a police detective to investigate a series of ritualistic murders. They then team up with a Russian police officer, Yura Surova to help solve the case. Surova's people believe that the person responsible for these murders is a Russian mythological being called Yaponchik...

Episode 22: Paper Dove (May/26/1997)
While visiting Catherine's family in Virginia, Frank is asked to help clear the name of a man accused of killing his wife. To his surprise, however, Frank finds that the situation hits closer to home than he initially thought.

Episode 1: The Beginning And The End (Sep/19/1997)
When the Polaroid Man abducts Catherine at the airport, Frank is left to try and find her whereabouts. Watts arrives with some of the Millennium Group members and offers to help him track down his wife, and also offers Frank the chance to become a full member of the Group. Meanwhile, Frank must rely on his visions to track down the Polaroid Man when his profiling skills fail to help him find the Polaroid Man.

Episode 2: Beware Of The Dog (Sep/26/1997)
When and old couple are attacked in their RV by a pack of vicious dogs, Frank is contacted by the Millennium Group and asked to investigate the killings. Frank finds it difficult to understand why the Group should be interested in animal attacks, but it persuaded to go and upon arrival he learns more about the motives of the Millennium Group from a mysterious old man. Meanwhile Catherine puts their yellow house on sale...

Episode 3: Sense And Antisense (Oct/03/1997)
Frank assists in the hunt for a man who is apparently infected with a deadly, highly contagious virus. Frank and Peter then begin to wonder if a member of the Human Genome Project could have tampered with the DNA that controls human violence.

Episode 4: Monster (Oct/17/1997)
Frank and the new Millennium Group member, Lara Means investigate the owner of a daycare center accused of committing child abuse-only to find Frank at the center of a similar investigation. Will Frank be able to solve the baffling mystery, before more children are killed?

Episode 5: A Single Blade Of Glass (Oct/24/1997)
When a Manhattan construction site unearths a body of a Native American man, Frank is called in because it seems he was slaughtered in an apocalyptic ancient ritual. At the site Frank learns more about the Indian culture and he begins to unearth many strange prophecies involving the resurrection of Indian men and the destruction of the white man from the west. Frank also begins to learn a little more about his visions.

Episode 6: The Curse Of Frank Black (Oct/31/1997)
On Halloween night, Frank is haunted by the ghosts of memories that have long passed. They spring from his childhood to the death of Bletcher, Frank is left to wonder if someone — or something — is trying to send him a message.

Episode 7: 19:19 (Nov/07/1997)
Frank and Peter help in the search for a bus load of school children. When they mysteriously vanish, they soon work out that the children have been kidnapped by a man who believes that World War III has just begun.

Episode 8: The Hand Of Saint Sebastian (Nov/14/1997)
Peter wants to find out more about the origins of the Millennium Group and together he and Frank travel to Germany. Together they set out on a dangerous mission to track down 'The Hand of Saint Sebastian', an ancient relic that promises to save the world from millennial disaster...

Episode 9: Jose Chung's Doomsday Defense (Nov/21/1997)
Frank helps a famous writer when his new book ''Doomsday Defence'' upsets the followers of a cult. As Frank tries to track down the members who have killed the person responsible for giving Jose his information, he also has to find a killer to wants to kill the three antichrists.

Episode 10: Midnight Of The Century (Dec/19/1997)
On Christmas Eve, Frank's past returns to haunt him when it becomes apparent that Jordan may be in communication with his dead mother. So Frank tries his best to improve his relationship with his father who he has not spoken to for many years when he begins to have visions of his childhood.

Episode 11: Goodbye, Charlie (Jan/09/1998)
Frank and Lara investigate to try and stop a ''killer'' that seems to enjoy helping terminally ill patients commit suicide. The killer is unlike anyone Frank has ever had to face in all his years as a profiler. But what it really comes down to is the motivation of the murders mercy... or murder?

Episode 12: Luminary (Jan/23/1998)
Frank is closer than ever toward initiation into the Millennium Group but he puts his membership at risk when he sets out to Alaska alone to search for a missing boy. But the Group warn him that they want no part of his rescue attempt so Frank must go alone...

Episode 13: The Mikado (Feb/06/1998)
After three teenagers accidentally witness a real-life murder on the internet, so begins the hunt for the killer to stop his crimes. Roedecker helps Frank and Peter mount a national search for the felon, that may be the infamous Avatar killer from the 1980's. One who Frank knows well from his work in trying to catch the killer in the 1980's.

Episode 14: The Pest House (Feb/27/1998)
When a murder, half-based on an urban legend, comes to the attention of the Millennium Group. Peter and Frank travel to the local psychiatric hospital to interview the inmates, but according to Dr. Stoller, the patients would have been unable to commit the murders. The murders continue, each one different to the last, but all matching various patients' modus operandi...

Episode 15: Owls (Mar/06/1998)
Members of the Millennium Group discover a piece of the crucifixion cross in the Middle East and attempt to transport it back to safety. However, it appears the Group is not totally unified and is actually made up of two factions, the Owls and the Roosters, both believing in a different form of millennial change. Before long Frank and Lara become embroiled when the Owls begin hacking into their computer systems causing problems...

Episode 16: Roosters (Mar/13/1998)
Frank continues to search for the answers he seeks as the Millennium Group interests deepens. However Catherine also begins to understand more of Frank's work as the true reason for her recent employment comes to light. Lara's visions also become more intense and she meets a surprising visitor.

Episode 17: Siren (Mar/20/1998)
A cargo ship carrying illegal Chinese immigrants is raided by I.N.S. On board they find a mysterious woman chained inside some quarters. Later, Jordan sees the woman in hospital and seems adamant that Catherine should help her... because she will save Frank's life. But the women is now the prime suspect in a number of deaths aboard a ship

Episode 18: In Arcadia Ego (Apr/03/1998)
Frank and Peter attempt to track down two women who escaped from prison and try to help them when they learn that one of them is pregnant. However as Frank tries to work out who the Father could be the convicts believe they are witnessing the virgin birth.

Episode 19: Anamnesis (Apr/17/1998)
Catherine a Lara team up to investigate when five girls claim they saw a vision of the Virgin Mary. Catherine also begins to gain a deeper understanding of Frank's work with the Millennium Group.

Episode 20: A Room With No View (Apr/24/1998)
When Frank and Peter help track down Landon Brice, an ordinary teenager who recently went missing, they believe that the boy was abducted. But the investigation brings Frank to believe that Lucy Butler (the prime suspect in the murder of his friend Bob Bletcher) is behind an entire series of abductions so he sets out on a mission to avenge Bob's death.

Episode 21: Somehow, Satin Got Behind Me (May/01/1998)
Four devils gather at a doughnut shop and swap stories about their dealings with mankind. But one thing all the devils have in common is that at some point in their lives they have run into Frank Black who somehow has the ability to see the devils' true forms.

Episode 22: The Four Horseman (May/08/1998)
Frank and Peter are quarantined after they come in contact with an unknown pathogen which has caused several people to die. Meanwhile Jordan experiences a terrifying nightmare and Lara Means disappears under mysterious circumstances.

Episode 23: The Time Is Now (May/15/1998)
Frank continues his study of a bizarre, but extremely fatal disease as it continues to spread throughout the world. Frank alsolearns that he has been vaccinated for the disease and he undertakes an investigation into the Millennium Group that may cost him his life. But he finds that his wife and child, however, have not been vaccinated for the disease and that soon their life's may be at risk....

Season 3 Episode Guide



Episode 1: The Innocents (Oct/02/1998)
The Marburg virus has apparently run its course. Several months after the death of his wife and a nervous breakdown, Frank rejoins the FBI and investigates a plane crash with a new partner, Emma Hollis. But Frank finds it hard to work alongside the Millennium Group when he knows that they are responsible for the outbreak that claimed his wife's life.

Episode 2: Exegesis (Oct/09/1998)
Frank and his new partner, Emma Hollis, continue their investigation into the case of identical women being killed off. To make matters worse it seems that the Millennium group are directly involved.

Episode 3: TEOTWAWKI (Oct/16/1998)
Frank and Emma try to search for some answers when a gunmen fires upon high school students. Frank and Emma also learn that a survivalist group is responsible and they would even kill their own children, in order to ensure the survival of their computer corporation which is being threatened by the YK2 bug

Episode 4: Closure (Oct/23/1998)
Emma tracks a killer whom Frank believes murders without motive. But during the hunt Emma is haunted by the memories of the death of her sister. Frank then takes Emma under his wing to bring some closure to both their current case and her own troubling past.

Episode 5: Thirteen Years Later (Oct/30/1998)
As Halloween approaches a killer stalks members of a production crew as they film a movie based upon Frank's cases. Frank and Emma investigate the murders and try to stop the killer before it's too late. But will they be able to stop the killer in time?

Episode 6: Skull And Bones (Nov/06/1998)
Frank and Emma search for answers when an odd man reveals intricate details about victims discovered in a mass grave. They soon find out that some of the bodies have links with the Millennium Group.

Episode 7: Through A Glass, Darkly (Nov/13/1998)
The disappearance of a child leads a town to accuse a recently released sex offender who may or may not be guilty. Frank and Emma arrive to determine the truth.

Episode 8: Human Essence (Dec/11/1998)
Emma tries to help her drug-addicted sister and learns that local addicts are exhibiting strange mutations linked to tainted heroin. But to make matters worse Emma is caught with her sister's drugs and as a result she could lost her job at the FBI.

Episode 9: Omerta (Dec/18/1998)
On Christmas, Frank and Jordan go one vacation in Vermont. Unexpectedly, they get involved with a supposedly dead Mafia hitman who appears to be living in the woods with a number of mysterious women.

Episode 10: Borrowed Time (Jan/15/1999)
When Jordan falls gravely ill, Frank attempts to link her condition to the mysterious demise of three people who had previously survived a brush with death.

Episode 11: Collateral Damage (Jan/22/1999)
Peter's daughter is kidnapped by a Gulf War veteran who hopes to force the Millennium Group into admitting their crimes. Frank and Emma attempt to help, but Peter seems determined not to betray the secrets of the Group.

Episode 12: The Sound Of Snow (Feb/05/1999)
Someone mails Frank a cassette tape containing seemingly harmless white noise. But Frank links copies of the tape to the bizarre deaths of two people. Also Frank is visited by the ghost of his dead wife.

Episode 13: Antipas (Feb/12/1999)
Frank discovers a connection between the murder of a federal prosecutor, a gubernatorial candidate with a frail daughter... and the evil Lucy Butler who appears to have returned to torment Frank.

Episode 14: Matryoshka (Feb/19/1999)
Frank and Emma investigate the suicide of a former FBI agent and discover links between the FBI, the Millennium Group, and the Los Alamos nuclear research center.

Episode 15: Forcing The End (Mar/19/1999)
A fundamentalist Jewish sect abducts a pregnant woman hoping to raise a pure child for the priesthood and force the coming of the Messiah.

Episode 16: Saturn Dreaming Mercury (Apr/09/1999)
Jordan experiences strange visions when a new family moves into the neighborhood. Frank becomes concerned when an imaginary friend gets Jordan into trouble at school. Frank then believes that Jordan's new advanced powers of perception could identify the presence of evil nearby.

Episode 17: Darwin's Eye (Apr/16/1999)
A manhunt ensures when an escapee from a mental institution - who is believed to have decapitated two people - goes on the run with a deputy police officer. Leaving it is up to Frank and Emma to find the escapee. Meanwhile Emma's father grows ill.

Episode 18: Bardo Thodol (Apr/23/1999)
Emma and Frank investigate the mysterious biological research conducted by a former Millennium Group member who is dying from a mysterious disease.

Episode 19: Seven And One (Apr/30/1999)
When Frank receives a series of Polaroid photographs, showing his own death, Frank claims that someone is out to kill him, but authorities suspect he may be having a nervous breakdown...but is he?

Episode 20: Nostalgia (May/07/1999)
Frank and Emma investigate the murders of several young women who disappeared in a small community where Emma lived as a girl. As figures from Emma's past continue to appear the mystery begins to slowly unfold.

Episode 21: Via Dolorosa (May/14/1999)
Frank pursues a serial killer whose modus operandi is identical to that of a murderer who died in the electric chair. Meanwhile Peter offers to aid Emma's ailing father but at a price, moving her closer to the Millennium Group.

Episode 22: Goodbye To All That (May/21/1999)
In the aftermath of the explosion, Frank continues his pursuit of the copycat serial killer, while Peter Watts offers Emma Hollis an opportunity to join the Millennium Group. Will Emma join? How far will Frank go? And how will it all end?
