Beth's mother not allowing them to take the deer off their land after spilling it's blood over Beth seemed a waste and the outlaws attempt to rob the guests at her 21st birthday seemed good timing but Beth being kidnapped and taken after one of the outlaws was stabbed was predictable, letting her see how the poor live was a bit of an eye opener to her

Beth's love for Abe might be growing stronger but she was asking for trouble helping the outlaws and Abe getting shot was bound to happen sooner or later but getting caught helping him almost cost her life but her mother sacrificing herself was sad

So much for Beth's safe passage to a new life in the New World when she is ship is wrecked and looks like she is the only survivor and to be taken in by the Wawanaki tribe was nice but she cant get a break with them now dying

The was Abe managed to escape from jail was surprising as he was thrown out with the dead and the tribe taking Beth's baby away was for the best as the kids tried to kill him but being reunited with Abe after they all thought he was dead was nice
