what is up with the constant red blinking of the video???????? it's been there for a long while now.

That mean recording function has been enabled for some reason every time you load a video you are automatically recording it to your hard drive. . To stop it you need disable it in option menu in real player or press red dot button again stop it.

You could try uninstalling Realplayer and reinstalling. One of the tick boxes when installing is to activate the download function, leave this unchecked.
