The Field of Blood Premiered on BBC One on August 29, 2011

David Morrissey, Peter Capaldi, Jonas Armstrong and Jayd Johnson star in The Field of Blood, a dark and compelling crime thriller, adapted from the best-selling novel by Denise Mina. Written and directed by David Kane, the crime drama is set in 1982 and centres on would-be journalist Paddy Meehan (Jayd Johnson), a young copygirl working in a Glasgow newspaper office.

Stuck in an almost exclusively male-dominated world of limited opportunities and cynicism, Paddy dreams of becoming an investigative journalist, believing that in miscarriages of justice, reporters are sometimes the only hope. Paddy seizes an opportunity to kick-start her career and becomes embroiled in a dark murder case. For the ambitious Paddy, it’s the opportunity of a lifetime, but it comes at a great personal cost.

Paddy shoving Heathers head town the toilet was a terrible thing to do but when she came back to the office she looked like a drowned rat which was amusing and the story Heathers wrote put Paddy in the dog house with her family which she knew before she put the story in the paper and it looks like Paddy might of got Heather killed by using her name

Paddy was lucky that she realised from the photo that her mistake in planting evidence in the van might get another wrong person arrested but it also nearly cost her her life and Dr Pete saying he planted the evidence before he died was nice

Paddy feeling guilty for taking the money was understandable as the woman she seen through the window turned up dead and the fact the police were also there it looks like police corruption as well, what a cliffhanger with the car fire

Devlin sleeping with the new boss, Maloney was a surprise as they were at loggerheads in the newsroom and George was lucky after the fire bomb on the car but Devlin printing the police corruption and a government cover-up against Maloney's orders was great, Paddy being pregnant after sleeping with a married cop was sad
