Denise suffering a knock to the head that took her in hospital was lucky as she was able to talking to the victim before she died and found out her father beat her for seeing black men but her father being the killer would of been a little to obvious, Denise planting evidence in the van was a surprise as everything else was by the book

Its always disappointing to see law enforcement 'bending the rules' whatever the motive.  You just know that it's gonna come back and bite her on the bum before the series is over.

Planting evidence in the van has come back to bite he in the ass as another victim twelve years after Amy Reid so called killer was sentenced but I can understand why she didn't take the deal as she knows he abused Amy but obviously didn't kill her

What Denise’s nineteen year old daughter, Charlotte said about not remembering her mother at home was sad and working unofficially with the two young officers was risky but the right thing to do as she snuffed up at the start and what a great conclusion

The basis of the series was the time skip of Denise career and hunt for a killer. But, it also left the series void of any personal attachment to the characters.
