Plot:
Anelectromagnetic pulse detonated by terrorists in 2009 plunged thecountry into a bleak third world existence. But for one geneticallyenhanced young woman named Max, the lack of technolgy has helped heravoid detection by the military group determined to hunt her down.

Known as Manticore, the groupbioengineered the births of hundreds of children in order to create theperfect soldier. Yet even as they hunt Max, she hunts for her fellow"siblings" who escaped with her from Manticore ten years earlier. Then,a chance encounter with underground cyber-journalist Logan Cale givesMax something she hasn't had in a long time - an ally.

Season 1 Episode Guide



Episode 1 - Pilot (Part 1)
As a child, Max was part of a highly classified genetic enhancement project. She and several other children were trained in a deeply secluded compound to use their superhuman powers. At a young age, Max and several others escaped the compound and made their way in the world. Now a beautiful young bike messenger and thief, Max is trying to find her lost "siblings" from the project, but at the same time, Max is trying to dodge capture from her former handlers led by Lydecker, and is aided in her quest by Logan Cale, an idealistic cyber-journalist.

Episode 2 - Pilot (Part 2)
As a child, Max was part of a highly classified genetic enhancement project. She and several other children were trained in a deeply secluded compound to use their superhuman powers. At a young age, Max and several others escaped the compound and made their way in the world. Now a beautiful young bike messenger and thief, Max is trying to find her lost "siblings" from the project. At the same time, Max is trying to dodge capture from her former handlers led by Lydecker. Max is aided in her quest by Logan Cale, an idealistic cyber-journalist. Logan has his own crusade -- taking on the ruthless Power-Brokers of the new millennium. Initially Max is reluctant to help Logan, but ultimately brings her superhuman abilities Though initially resistant to Logan's attempts to enlist her in his crusade, Max ultimately brings her unique abilities to his cause.

Episode 3 - Heat
Max is lured further into Logan's realm when he promises her more information about her past. He tells her about the woman who picked her up roadside as a child - a woman named Hannah. Max heads out to find Hannah, and ultimately gets more clues about her biological mother. But Hannah is forced to reveal Max's whereabouts to Lydecker. Max manages yet another daring escape from Lydecker. Also, Max's feline DNA puts her in heat and she relentlessly pursues a man, Eric. They never really hook up, but Eric is left with a huge crush on Max and gets unsuspectingly sucked into her adventure. Elsewhere, the private eye, Vogelsang, double-crosses Max and sells information about her to Lydecker.

Episode 4 - Flushed
When Max's seizures increase and she finds she's low on her medication after her friends mistakenly flush it down the toilet, Max breaks into a drug clinic. However things get worse when Max is caught and ends up in jail.

Episode 5 - C.R.E.A.M.  
Max and Logan help a girl to find her father, who used to be a mentor to Logan. Meanwhile, Max contends with past memories of her unusual childhood.

Episode 6 - 411 On The DL   
Max gets called to a secret meeting after seeing a personal ad containing her barcode, where she learns that someone might know something about the rest of her Manticore family. Max suspects Logan's ex-wife of having ulterior motives for reappearing after a long absence. Elsewhere, Herbal is fired from Jam Pony for adhering to his religious beliefs. Cindy and Kendra head up a protest strike.

Episode 7 - Prodigy
Max attends a conference about genetic engineering. Lydecker is in attendance but doesn't recognize Max. A terrorist organization appears and turns the conference into a hostage situation in which Max and Logan must intervene to save innocent lives without revealing their identities. Meanwhile at Jam Pony, the gang are riveted by the television coverage of the hostage situation and unaware that Max is involved. Herbal insists that even in the face of adversity, "all is good" in the High-on-High's plan -- until he learns his friend Max is in danger.

Episode 8 - Cold Comfort
Zack reappears and tells Max that Lydecker has captured Brin, one of their Manticore sisters, and plans to do her harm. Max decides they must kidnap Lydecker and force him to reveal Brin's whereabouts. When Max and Zack discover that Lydecker was not behind Brin's disappearance, they have no choice but to team up with Lydecker to find their lost sister.

Episode 9 - Blah Blah Woof Woof
Lydecker gets the local police to post "Wanted" posters of Max throughout the city, charging her with Vogelsang's murder. When Zack returns to beg Max to leave town, Logan offers both of them shelter in a countryside retreat. Meanwhile, Sketchy is put in charge at Jam Pony and Normal goes to the police about Max.

Episode 10 - Out
Tired of Logan's "all business" approach to their relationship, Max refuses to help with his latest case involving a medical supply smuggler. But when Logan gets double-crossed by his target, Max goes undercover as "Eyes Only" to rescue him from a certain death. Meanwhile, Normal is smitten with a woman with a secret.

Episode 11 - Red
Max takes on an army of superhuman soldiers in an episode amped up on action sequences. The trouble starts when Logan recruits his favorite biker chick to protect a Federal witness with vital info on local corruption. But the operation hits a snag after Max realizes that the guy she's guarding is a face from the not-so-distant---and very painful---past, and that those who want him dead may have plans for her as well.

Episode 12 - Art Attack
Normal is kidnapped by a gang of art thieves and the Jam Pony folks realize they have been tricked into transporting stolen paintings. Meanwhile, Logan asks Max to be his date at a family wedding. She is snubbed at the only store that sells gowns. She decides to return to the dress store and steal the dress she has put on hold. When Logan is suspicious of how she got such a nice dress, Max confesses and says she plans on taking it back. Later, Max enlists Logan's help to rescue Normal from the art thieves.

Episode 13 - Rising
The "transgenic" Reds catch up with Max when her lost pager reveals her whereabouts to them. The Reds are former death row convicts seeking to combine their technology with Max's genetic material. Logan and Max, after a deadly fight with a Red, learn that the transgenics' power is controlled by a special implant placed in their bodies. Meanwhile, the Reds take Original Cindy hostage and used to lure Max into their trap. Max risks it all and inserts the Red's implant into her own neck in hopes of gaining extra power. The implant makes her hyper violent and she kills off the Reds in order to free Original Cindy. Max then has a seizure. Logan learns the only way to save Max's life is to get the chip out of her head, but first he has to electrocute the chip in her neck. He is able to save her. Max then has to reveal to Original Cindy her Manticore secret. Also, Logan begins to regain the use of his legs and stands up.

Episode 14 - The Kidz Are Aiight
Recaptured by Lydecker after his helicopter crash, Zack is tortured in an effort to get him to reveal the whereabouts of the other X5 escapees. Zack receives help from an unexpected source--and an expected one--and manages to escape, unaware that he's inadvertently keeping his would-be captors in the know.

Episode 15 - Female Trouble
Max discovers Logan is dealing with a back-alley medical clinic doctor who has agreed to perform experimental therapies to keep him out of his wheelchair, who Max realizes is also a former Manticore scientist. Meanwhile,Original Cindy returns to Jam Pony and continues to learn more about Max and her relationship to Logan.

Episode 16 - Haven
Max accompanies Logan to a once-thriving community, now devastated after the pulse, to meet with the town's retired sheriff. The locals are hostile toward Max and Logan, believing them to be hold-overs from the pre-pulse days. Meanwhile, Max starts to feel ill and begins having seizures and also befriends a local teen who Max comes to realize is alienated from the rest of the town.

Episode 17 - Shorties in Love
When Diamond, an old girlfriend of Original Cindy's mysteriously reappears to rekindle their relationship, Max finds her anonymity dangerously compromised by a stranger with a deadly secret. Max becomes suspicious of Diamond's presence when Max is attacked by strangers and Logan investigates the identity of the attackers.

Episode 18 - Pollo Loco
Logan is tipped off by a friend at the morgue to a murder victim with a barcode on his neck and informs Max who investigates. But though the barcode belongs to an escaped X5, Ben, the body is not his. While Max is viewing the body, Lydecker arrives to confiscate it and close the investigation. Max realises she must find Ben before Lydecker does.

Episode 19 - I and I Am a Camera
While investigating a string of murders of recently paroled convicts, Max and Logan meet a "Fisher King"-like super hero who at first appears harmless and slightly crazy, but ultimately has a profound effect on both their personal lives. Discovering this post-pulse crusade as he follows her around Seattle, Max's original opinion of the "super hero" changes after she sees him actually perform super-human feats.

Episode 20 - Hit a Sista Back
When fellow X5 escapee Tinga returns to town to save the family she left behind, Max, with the help of Zack, once again places herself in danger to battle Manticore, Lydecker, newly turned X5 Brin, and an increasingly power-hungry Madame X. When Tinga gives up her freedom to ensure her child's safety, she is taken to a secret government lab. Amid the double crossing, we learn Lydecker is no longer in the loop with the real Manticore higher-ups. This means Max is in more danger that she could possible imagine.

Episode 21 - Meow
Max starts to feel the stress of being controlled by her genetic urges when she goes into her bi-annual feline DNA sexual urges.

Episode 22 - ...And Jesus Brought a Casserole
Max escapes Manticore and Madame X's clutches with the help of Lydecker but he then knocks Max out and chains her to a hotel bed while he proceeds to get drunk. It's up to Logan to help find her.

Season 2 Episode Guide



Episode 1 - Designate This
Max escapes from Manticore and triggers Operation Pale Face, in which Manticore self-destructs, obliterating all traces of its existence.

Episode 2 - Bag 'em
A clean-up operation tries to kill all the occupants who escaped when Manticore self-destructed. Max, feeling responsible, tries to save them.

Episode 3 - Proof of Purchase
Max tracks Joshua to Sandeman's former residence. Lydecker discovers a secret archeological dig of a Kiloma Indian burial site that is somehow connected to Manticore. Alec is captured and nearly killed by Ames White, but Max saves him.

Episode 4 - Radar Love
Lonely and frustrated that they cannot be together, Max and Logan reach out to other people. Manticore creates a pathogen that can target and kill a specific race, with the ultimate aim of using it to wipe out transgenics.

Episode 5 - Boo
Max spends a wacky Halloween with other transgenics, chasing a headless body in an attempt to foil an assassination plot.

Episode 6 - Two
A creature described as a man-dog is attacking and killing cops, and Max discovers that one of Joshua's brothers is behind the attacks; Alec gets hired at Jam Pony and runs into trouble when his black-market business selling synthetic hormone riles local thugs.

Episode 7 - Some Assembly Required
Max discovers that her brother, Zack, is alive and living with a group of Steelheads — but he is not the same Zack she remembers.

Episode 8 - Gill Girl
When a group of fisherman find a girl with gills in one of their nets, they believe they've caught a mermaid. But Max and Alec soon realize the mermaid is actually another Manticore escapee, and they set out to rescue her.

Episode 9 - Medium Is the Message
Eyes Only agrees to help a a woman try to find her kidnapped son, but Logan and Max are stunned to learn that the woman is Ames White's wife; trouble arises when Alec takes advantage of Joshua's apparent talent as an artist.

Episode 10 - Brainiac
After an S1W cell is busted, Max discovers a man named Brainiac, who seems able to predict the future.

Episode 11 - The Berrisford Agenda
Alec stumbles across a troubling reminder of his past as a Manticore agent and is haunted by memories of the girl he fell in love with — and killed.

Episode 12 - Borrowed Time
Max finds a temporary cure for the virus that targets Logan; Joshua discovers that a Manticore-made "sniffer" is loose.

Episode 13 - Harbor Lights
Max is shot and rushed to a hospital, where her blood work reveals some strange anomalies that tips Ames White to her location.

Episode 14 - Love in Vein
Max stumbles upon a group of apparent transgenics who survive by drinking their leader's blood. At Jam Pony, Alec covertly assigns Joshua to make deliveries for him.

Episode 15 - Fuhgeddaboudit
When Logan asks Max to help him get a mob accountant to become a police informant, she runs into a fellow Manticore alum with unusual powers.

Episode 16 - Exposure
After Logan traces a call, he and Max find Ames White's son, Ray, enrolled in a mysterious school.

Episode 17 - Hello, Goodbye
Logan touches Max and nearly dies from the virus; Alec is arrested for murder; White discovers that the transgenics are immune to his cult's snake blood and arranges to have the Manticore experiment exposed.

Episode 18 - Dawg Day Afternoon
With Ames White's help, the news is full of reports of transgenics. When Joshua leaves his house to see Annie, he is spotted, and further chaos erupts.

Episode 19 - She Ain't Heavy
As their secret identities are increasingly revealed, Max, Joshua and Logan leave town for Terminal City. Ames White captures a transgenic that he thinks is Max but is actually her clone.

Episode 20 - Love Among the Runes
An escapee from an insane asylum infiltrates the transgenic society in Terminal City; White's operatives discover a way to identify transgenics in a crowd.

Episode 21 - Freak Nation" (90 minutes)
After Max and other transgenics are trapped by police in Jam Pony, White brings in a special team sent by the breeding cult, intending to kill Max and all the others.
