About the Show:
The Fall is a brand new five-part drama set in Northern Ireland following a PSNI investigation into a string of recent homicides. When the PSNI are unable to close the case after 28 days, Detective Superintendent Stella Gibson ( Gillian Anderson) of the Metropolitan Police Service is called in to review the case. Under her new leadership, the local detectives must track down and stop the serial killer who is terrorising the city of Belfast.

Season 1



Episode 1: Dark Descent (May/13/2013)
Paul Spector’s dark fascination with a young solicitor Sarah Kay is in stark contrast to his home life, where he lives with two young children and a wife who adoress him. Gibson leads the investigation and she dsicovers some similarities to a case from 18 months ago. She soon believes that there is a serial killer lose in Belfast but her superiors at the police are unwilling to make the connection. Spector spends time in Sarah’s empty house, with the thrill of his crime exciting him. After Sarah comes home she finds that Spector has left a disturbing calling card laid out on her bed.

Episode 2: Darkness Visible (May/20/2013)
Stella’s worst fears end up being realised as Spector’s murder spree in Belfast continues. Following a run in with a journalist, it causes friction between Stella and Jim Burns, who is about to face the Independent Policing Board. After the body of Spector’s latest victim is found, Stella takes control of the investigation. She is joined by pathologist Professor Reed Smith as Stella's hunt for Spector continues.

Episode 3: Insolence & Wine (May/27/2013)
Spector looks for his next victim. Gibson brings Burns up to speed with her investigation as they are interrupted by a call reporting the fatal shooting of a police officer. Burns tells Gibson to get herself a firearm as the danger of policing in Northern Ireland hits home. Gibson and the team look through what they know so far about the killer of Fiona Gallagher, Alice Monroe and Sarah Kay as Spector takes a look at the house of a potential new victim.

Episode 4: My Adventurous Song (Jun/03/2013)
After Eastwood’s investigation into Olson’s murder sees some uncomfortable truths for Burns, Gibson feels increased pressure in her hunt for Belfast’s killer.

Episode 5: The Vast Abyss (Jun/10/2013)
After showing up at the Annie Brawley crime scene, Gibson finds out that Annie is still alive and soon realises that this is the work of the same killer. Burns and his team are still trying to work out the events surrounding Olson’s murder. Spector is forced to go to the police station after CCTV footage is broadcast showing him near to Sarah Kay on her final day alive. He manages to sweet talk his way through the interview with Brink without suspicion but his request for Sally Ann to give him with an alibi means that he has to return home to face her suspicions. Spector wants forgiveness and is surprised to find out that she is pregnant. As he manages to convince Sally Ann into going away with him to try and save their marriage, Spector decides to make one final play with Gibson that will bring them closer than either could have ever imagined.

Season 2



Episode 1: Walk the Line (Nov/13/2014)
It is just under two weeks since Paul Spector told DSI Stella Gibson that she would never catch him. Stella fails to help Spector’s surviving victim remember the identity of her attacker. Spector needs to deal with the loose ends that he left behind in Belfast and he finds out that someone from his past has been helping police with their enquiries.

Episode 2: One Named Peter (Nov/20/2014)
Paul Spector drives Rose Stagg away from her home in the middle of the night. She soon is shocked to learn he knows she's gone to the police. The pressure on Gibson and the team investigating the case increases as she has to face up to the fact that her words tipped Spector off about Rose.

Episode 3: It's Always Darkest (Nov/27/2014)
Gibson asks for extensive suirvellance on Spector's family as she believes they will lead her to Paul. The search for Rose grows more desperate as each hour passes and as Spector and Gibson encounter a near miss, things get personal.

Episode 4: Strangler (Dec/04/2014)
Gibson tells Burns she believes that Paul has witnessed their hotel room confrontation. She is shocked when she discovers that Spector has been visiting one of his victims in hospital. She finally manages to track him down and has surveillance put on him. A body matching the description of the missing Rose Stagg is found, meaning Gibson may have to face up to her worst fear.

Episode 5: The Fall (Dec/11/2014)
Spector is under surveillance and Gibson wants to make sure that a solid arrest plan is put in place so that no evidence is lost. Spector is unpredictable and Gibson is forced to act as her plan falls apart in front of her.

Episode 6: In Summation (Dec/18/2014)
Gibson finds her investigation taking her to Spector’s lair. There is no sign of Rose Stagg though and Gibson wants her team to step up the interviews with Katie, Sally Ann and Paul Spector. After Spector makes a final play to try and stay in control, Gibson gets the chance to have some sort of answers. Gibson and Spector finally come face-to-face and they both have their own battles to try and win.
