Where is Season 3???
Author: gabsimom    Time: 4-1-2009 07:58

it starts april 5th,
Fancast has an edited version of the 1st episode of season 3, something showtime does to get more prescribers before the season starts. We should have it shortly after the official air date.

^^^ oh.  Thanks!  I'm excited

I saw Season 3 on another site, but it was a bit choppy in the video feed. so I am going to watch it again.

I cant wait to see what they come up with next.

I think I read somewhere that the story can go to season 4 but I guess it will probably depend on the ratings of this season.
Author: gabsimom    Time: 4-28-2009 18:08

Wow I cried when this last queen died, she really was so good natured and sweet. No wonder Henry will call her his only true wife.

I think it can actually survive longer. we could see Mary reign of terror and then of course see Elizabeth take over fade to black.

I would love it if this show continues even longer but I hope they find someone as sexy as Jonathan Rhys Meyers for Elizabeth though
Author: writemako    Time: 5-4-2009 10:14

I was waiting and waiting and waiting for the show to pick up the speed but oh boy this week's episode (ep5) was so unexciting it almost made me do something else while watching it. Onlyl upside was Jonathan Rhys Meyers showed some skin
Author: gabsimom    Time: 5-4-2009 11:07

lol
I thought he was delusional at 1st and talking to figment of his imagination. See the fool is running things now.

episode 7
I feel so sorry for the new queen. I realised Henry was trapped into this marriage by Cromwell to purse his vision of the religion but his actions are so mean. I feel sorry for the new queen even her own brother had her face hidden till the marriage was official.
I cannot imagine being in bed with a man with puss and stink coming out of his leg.
eeek
Author: gabsimom    Time: 5-18-2009 09:18

I agree, she is so sweet and her heart is big. She deserves better.
Author: minnieholly    Time: 5-24-2009 05:17

Well it looks like the new wife Anne, wont be the wife much longer. I am impresed with how its slowly follwing history.
Author: writemako    Time: 5-24-2009 08:47

I wonder how true they will follow history, according to historians Henry gains a lot of weight in his later years and suspects he had gout and Type II Diabetes. Wonder if we'll see an overweight King on the show lol. Everytime I see Henry eat a fruit I'm like - stop it! You've got diabetes!
Author: writemako    Time: 5-25-2009 11:25

I never liked Cromwell but he did not deserve the end that he did. That was awful. Really cruel. I never thought Charles could be part of this thing. He seemed like a guy with kindness in his heart and despite for his dislike of Cromwell I never thought he'd be involved in what went down.

Discuss Season 4 here
Author: Teachergirl    Time: 4-18-2010 09:38

As we near the end of the King's reign, the issue of historical accuracy is surely out of the window- JRM is still as yummy as before. But Catherine Howard is obnoxious. I want to wring her neck....
Costumes as lovely as ever- this is a show where I do not knit or do something else while watching. I want to see details and all.
Author: minnieholly    Time: 4-20-2010 07:51

As for Catherine they wrote her in as 17 y/o and if you do some research it says he married the king at 15. either way she is still his midlife crisis.  and since she immature and unsure of her roll no wonder she didnt last too long being the queen.

since I already saw 1 and 2 episode I am waiting for 3 and the rest. i might rewatch them again.
Author: codebreaker    Time: 4-28-2010 10:14     Subject: Episode 3

After watching the first three episodes the new queen really shows her immaturity and is quite annoying but having an affair with Culpepper was stupid and we know what happened in history but it will be nice to see how the king finds out and what happens Culpepper as well
Author: gabsimom    Time: 4-28-2010 14:28

I really feel for Anne and after watching this last episode You can see he loves her but for some reason PRIDE will not marry her.
Author: minnieholly    Time: 4-29-2010 18:53

Seems like Catherine queen number 5 will be getting what is coming to her soon.
Author: Teachergirl    Time: 5-2-2010 00:53

True....... I cannot wait to see the last of Queen Catherine.
Author: Puppet125    Time: 5-3-2010 09:25

I feel the supporting cast here isn't as strong as it used to be. But I like that henry is showing his age, even if it's less fat than the real version.

her running to culpepper is getting on my nerves. she should end it and give the king a child. her not knowing she was pregnant just shows how immature she is. she should have waited longer before runnign to the king like an idiot.

and nwo her friend trying to black mail her well i can see that unravilling quickly.

and you can see the king growing to love Anne of cleaves, in history it says she out lived the king but was left a nice stypen and lives a comfortable life. I wonder if the king is rolling in his grave with that I guess he is learning to thinking with the head on his shoulders and not between his legs.

Nice speech from the King thanking God for his wife and Edward if only he knew what she has been up to and who put the note behind him
Author: minnieholly    Time: 5-6-2010 19:02

my favorite line is "No body will know not even the king", the maids for the queen really know how to get her sucked in. if the maids know that means someone knows she is with culpepper. lol
Author: codebreaker    Time: 5-10-2010 01:37     Subject: Episode 5

Wow the best episode so far but making Catherine walk past the heads on her way to the tower was cruel but she should of expected it and her final words about Culpepper was great
Author: Teachergirl    Time: 5-10-2010 07:25

Great episode indeed. The heads thing was cruel indeed and some bits about the torture were quite scary in this episode. I will not miss Queen Catherine much- or Culpepper. I know that Lady Rochford plotted and was a part of the whole thing- but I felt sorry for her. But then she played a major part in Anne losing her head so... Karma I guess. But I do wonder- that childhood friend of Catherine, Joan. She survived it all and yet she had a great part in it too! If she hadn't come to court one has to wonder what might have been.
I guess from now on it is downhill for the King. He still looks WAY too good. (Not that I mind- but if we were historically accurate.... he'd be fat, stinky and quite ugly by now)

Henry flirting with lady Latimer - Katherine Parr was interesting but why would she want to get involved with the king after killing the last one

She didn't want to, the king sent his proposal to the Lady while she was mourning her  late husband. the man just died the king could have waited all becuase of a game of playing cards.

Well, we've finally reached the last wife. I find her story almost the saddest of them all- she wasn't even enjoy the marriage to the man she really loved, she died in childbirth and I have actually seen her grave. Sad too that apparently noone knows what happened to her child.
But the later we get in the show the more the reality and show drift apart- couldn't they have made Henry a BIT uglier? He's way too good looking yet. And looks way too young.
Author: minnieholly    Time: 5-24-2010 05:21

Right now I am finding the show a bit boring. the last one really kinda killed it for me. So the king is at war some disease broke out and The queen is stirring up some religious movement.
Author: codebreaker    Time: 5-24-2010 08:46     Subject: Reply 17#17 minnieholly's post

This episode was disappointing but saving the french girl and her father didn't make much sense
Author: codebreaker    Time: 6-7-2010 07:27     Subject: Episode 8

We now know why he saved the french girl and her father and letting her father escape was a nice touch but with an ulterior motive. Princess Mary has some strong religious thoughts
Author: minnieholly    Time: 6-9-2010 11:53

Blood Mary has made her statement I wonder if they will have her act it out , and who will find the king on the floor.

The torturing and burning of one of the Queens maids was barbaric but the gunpowder stopped the suffering
Author: codebreaker    Time: 6-21-2010 12:14     Subject: 4x10 Death of a Monarchy

Henry hallucinating about his past wives was interesting but Catherine was lucky after seeing a warrant for her arrest, overall not a bad series finale
Author: Teachergirl    Time: 7-14-2010 04:59

So...... we're done with Henry! It was a good show. It may not always have been historically accurate but it was entertaining.
