you know you needs expand on it-what do you mean it was a good episode.

i will expand my comment-funny dialogue

Walter: I thought you'd be fatter.
Peter: You thought I'd be fatter? Excellent. First words, perfect.
Peter: No, as a boy, you were round.

Peter: The man who was just released from the mental institution, he wants to give you a drug overdose, then stick a metal rod into your head and put you naked into a rusty tank of water.
Walter: No, I don't want to. No, I'd rather not. I'm just saying I can.

Peter: Genetically, humans and cows are separated by only a couple lines of DNA so it's an ethical test subject.
Olivia: Where did you learn that, MIT?
Peter: No, actually picked that up reading books, you should try it sometime, it's fun.

I watched it.... It was great! I love the characters, I wonder if most of them, will be on a regular basis. I hope so, what a great cast!! I thought the FX were awesome, seeing through the skin, that was really cool. I can't wait to see, what they have in store for us as the season unfolds. I think this may become one of my favorite new shows, if the season holds up to the first show. I'm really hoping this gets added to the site!

I watched it the same way you did...

Great show! It was great throughout, but at the end it sort of picked up and got me wanting more. My favorite character has to be the kooky scientist ... That pillow suffocation scene reminded me of 24...that was a spoiler if you haven't seen the first season. But anyways I love cliffhangers and I was very interested at the end. When she said, "Let's talk to him" I was thinking that they have the same technology as the scientist...that there may be a double agent.

Tina, this is a great time to see what science can do especially after this week when they sent those protons through almost at the speed of light. I wasn't anticipating this one as much as others, but this is a must see for me this year! BTW, I also really enjoyed the F/X.

I can't believe in some of the things they are coming up with in these science fiction shows.  It always makes me wonder what is really out there and how much of it the government is keeping from us.  I read the preview for the next episode of Fringe and I can't wait to watch it.  It sounds like it is really going to be a good episode.

this first episode of fringe, has brought all the expectation that i thought of.
i guess the show promises us with a lot in the next episodes, and really this first episode was exciting and lovely to watch.
we can see that the idea of the show is similar to the X-files, but even though its nice to see something like that back on TV, i mean we all loved the X-files and i think all of us will love this new show.
the story if the 1st episode was great, the acting was great too, i think they chose the actors wisely.
i just hope that the following episodes will be much better, and i cant wait to watch the next episodes.

I just watched the pilot and loved it.  How can you not love a mad scientist.  I'm looking forward to the rest of the shows.  One thing I noticed is the show isn't shot in Boston at all.  Even the exterior shots are of Toronto.  I live in Toronto and lived in Boston and the two cities don't look alike.  The building they used as Harvard doesn't look anything like Harvard.  It is in fact Trinity College, an old building that is part of UofToronto.  In one of the shots you can see the UofT medical school in the background.  I wonder if the rest of the shows will be shot in Toronto.
Author: shinny    Time: 10-12-2008 15:45

I've watched all of the episodes now and I really like this show. I love Joshua Jackson anyway, but he's really good in this show. We've got two Aussie lead actors and one Canadian - A great mix, lol.

Walter is brilliant, he really plays the eccentric Dr very well.

Does anyone else think that Olivia and Sarah of Terminator look very alike? Forget the hair colour, but their eyes and mannerisms are very similar. I know they aren't related or anything, I just think they seem alike.

Cshapiro, Yep according to IMDb all of the Pilot was shot in Toronto, even the Baghdad scene (lol!!)

Every episode hooks you, it drags you in, and you have to know what happens next.  Very few shows have this strong a hook, and this much suspense.  The only other show in the last few months to have such a hook was "Fear Itself"  If you haven't watched Fringe yet, you need to, and if you haven't also watched "Fear Itself", find it and watch.  Don't watch either if you are easily frightened.
I like Fringe so much I am rewatching, actually I have episode 1 playing right now, and the melting flesh of the people on the plane is just as rivetting as the first time I saw it.

This was a great pilot episode for a great show. It was weird to hear the same type of music as Lost but I got used to it quickly. Not your average detective show and nice cast. I have been watching this show since the start and it keeps getting better and better. This episode was a great setup as it dealt with the seriousness of the threat as well as introduced the main characters nicely.

if i had the energy to keep up with all the back story of the show (you aren't really seeing it if you don't read about all the hidden messages that they've included...) i might have gotten into it BUT the science is SOOOOOOOOOOOO bad that even pacey saying "what kind of pseudo-mumbo jumbo-sciency crap is that?" (so after so many hours is when you're really dead) cannot make it palatable.

I watch about anything that is even remotely scifi, so I'm watching this series as well. I liked the pilot because I had the impression that they weren't taking themselves very seriously, but after having seen the rest of the show I think (apart from Walter) the irony might have been unintentional. I wouldn't be very surprised if it got cancelled...
