The first one had at least a partial storyline...I didn't know what this was about by watching the trailer. I would not see this...go see Juno or The Bucket List. Or even The Spiderwick Chronicles! It wasn't bad and it had more action than I thought there would be. Ebert said it should be rated PG-13, so don't let that PG rating scare you! 20th Century Fox is considering reviving its X-Men and Daredevil franchises, according to Variety.
Due to the recent WGA strike, Fox struggled to move big budget films into production in time for this summer's blockbuster season and is considering solving the problem for next year by revamping two of its Marvel superhero franchises.
The studio will reportedly discuss making a Young X-Men film and Deadpool, based on Ryan Reynolds's character in the upcoming Wolverine, at a strategy meeting.
A new Daredevil movie is also thought to be on the agenda. Ben Affleck previously played the blind comic book hero in a 2003 film.
However, despite the lack of summer blockbusters this year, producer J.C. Spink suggested that Fox should not alter its strategy.
"Just because it didn't work this summer doesn't mean they should change anything," he said. "Everyone has an off season. But look at how many summers in a row it has worked for them." Author: spratt89 Time: 9-15-2008 01:56

DISNEY has confirmed that Hollywood heartthrob JOHNNY DEPP will buckle on his swash again for a fourth installment of the Pirates Of The Caribbean franchise.
Johnny, who played unhinged hero Captain Jack Sparrow, helped the three previous films rake in £1.3 billion at the box office.
Action blockbuster supremo JERRY BRUCKHEIMER, who will also be in charge of a big screen remake of The Lone Ranger, will produce the film.
Dishy Depp is set to play the American gunslinger’s sidekick Tonto as well as the Mad Hatter in a TIM BURTON 3-D remake of Alice In Wonderland.

HOLLYWOOD heart-throb GEORGE CLOONEY is to play the Lone Ranger in a new movie.
The Oscar-winner, 47, will appear as the masked crimefighter with fellow star JOHNNY DEPP as the legend’s trusty sidekick Tonto.
An insider said last night: “George is very keen — he’s been trying to do a movie with Johnny for a long time.
“He thinks they’ll make the perfect on-screen partnership,â€
The film will be written by Ted Elliott and Terry Rossio, who also scripted the three hit Pirates Of The Caribbean films starring Depp, 45.

There were some absolute classic moments in this film. Pretty much every moment Homer and the pig were on the screen together made me laugh - in particular the "Spiderpig" part, comedy genius! And there were the usual obvious jokes, which were still a giggle, for example when the silo full of pig poo was pulled out of the lake, and Homer denied all knowledge, despite it being turned over and it having text saying "Return to Homer Simpson." Gotta love The Simpsons! Author: gyki98 Time: 10-7-2008 04:32 Subject: Reply 67#67 spratt89's post

some parts were Author: spratt89 Time: 10-7-2008 17:32 Subject: National Treasure 2: Book Of Secrets
National Treasure 2 is an unusual sequel in that it out-performs the first film. It follows the same format of a globe-trotting treasure hunt with Nic Cage as the slightly daffy professor on the track of an historic mystery. However, NT2 positively gallops along from one clue to the next, dashing from the USA to Paris to London and back again -- just in time to burgle the two most well-protected buildings on the planet and then kidnap (!) the President.
NT2 isn't a serious film but it does have a very serious cast and an edge-of-the-seat director. So Cage is well supported by the likes of Harvey Keitel, Jon Voigt and Ed Harris (who plays the bad guy. Well, sort of. You'll see!). NT2 probably takes huge liberties with actual fact and historical events but it is tightly plotted and extremely enjoyable. Bad guys always drive (indestructible) Range Rovers, and James Bond ain't the only man to wear a dinner suit under a wetsuit. Author: gyki98 Time: 10-8-2008 09:37 Subject: Reply 70#70 spratt89's post

I was sceptical watching yet another Die Hard movie, but actually, I was very pleasantly surprised. The action was fast paced throughout and the sheer audacity of the plot kept me fully absorbed. McClane, although looking pretty much older these days, is still plausible as the energetic lone hero determined to do his duty and conquer evil. Yes, the plot was totally unbelievable but why would you want to depress yourself with realism - take a look at the daily news for that! I appreciate a good bit of escapism and this really fits the bill. If you like a movie with a good deal of ass-kicking and where unsuspecting, ill-equipped good guy/lone hero outwits gang of highly skilled, technologically well-equipped and thoroughly organised assasins then this could be the movie for you! And it looks to me like the daughter - a chip off the old block - could be the star of future Die Hard movies assuming her father's mantle?? - now that would be a good movie !!! I really enjoyed this film more than the first to be honest.Fast forward to New York 2008 and goblin Prince, Nuada, wants to bring the army back to life as he does not trust the greedy and loose living human race. With the help of his ogre and vicious tooth fairies (they have the teeth!) he raids a NY auction room to claim the human's piece of the crown and begin his quest against humanity. Only the Red Guy, his firey and fishy friends (Liz and Abe) and his new boss, the gaseous Johann, can stop him and the army he has to control for his own destiny. This movie has it all - a fabulous plot, memorable set pieces, great cast, wry humour and a tight script that keep you engrossed for the whole 2 hours (almost). Luke Goss (yes, him from Bros) was excellent as the pale and evil Prince. Perlman again delivered in spades, the big guy with the big heart and fist to match. Supporting cast were excellent, Selma Blair as stunning as ever and Doug Jones as fishy and clever as before, though falling in love was his downfall. The Lord of the Rings type settings contrasted nicely with the above ground NY sequences and the balance between "here and now" and the fantasy underworld worked well and gave it a unique feel. Author: spratt89 Time: 10-15-2008 16:04 Subject: The Scorpion King 2 - Rise Of A Warrior
I am looking forward to buying this on dvd when it comes out on the 3rd of November, all the previews i have seen for it have been good, this is what the movie is about,
THE SCORPION KING 2 uncovers the origins of the 2002 summer blockbuster which starred Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson as Mathayus, the most fearsome desert warrior of the ancient world. Reaching deep into the past, this prequel begins with the king as a 13-year-old peasant boy (Michael Copon) who witnesses the kidnapping and death of his father at the hands of the terrifying Sargon (played by towering UFC Heavyweight Randy Couture). Thirsty for vengeance, young Mathayus trains at the Order of the Black Scorpion to sharpen his skills as a killing machine, then journeys to the underworld to retrieve the one sword that can help him defeat Sargon. When the burgeoning Scorpion King finally comes to blows with his murderous rival, the fate of the entire human race hangs in the balance. Author: bala Time: 10-17-2008 23:30 Subject: Push (2009)
