They're anything but Darlings.
Dirty Sexy Money Aired From September 26, 2007 - August 08, 2009 On ABC
The Plot:
Power, privilege and family money are a volatile cocktail.
Living proof of this are the Darlings of New York City, so absurdly wealthy, they put the upper in Upper East Side. This preeminent family are always getting mixed up with the wrong people and finding themselves in the middle of bad situations. It'll take a miracle to take care of the legal and sometimes illegal needs of the Darling family.
That miracle comes in the form of Nick George. As a boy, Nick watched his father surrender his freedom and family as the Darling's trusted consigliere. Nick grew up in a troubled household where he was always second to the overpowering Darling family. Burned by his own boyhood encounters with them, he vowed never to follow in his father's footsteps. The idealistic Nick did a 180-degree turn and became a lawyer for the disadvantaged.
After the mysterious, sudden death of Nick's father, family patriarch Tripp Darling offers Nick the opportunity to inherit the responsibility of protecting the Darlings' secrets. The job, with an ungodly salary, will allow Nick the freedom to be an altruistic do-gooder. But he discovers all too soon that his new position requires him to be an all-around problem fixer, hand-holder, therapist and public relations expert.
The powerful and persuasive Tripp Darling, owner of vineyards and homes around the world, lives with his beautiful, graceful and posh wife, Letitia. While they symbolize the charm and all-Americanism of old money, they also embody scandal and have spawned five grown, troubled children.
The oldest is Patrick Darling, the attorney general for New York. He's a handsome and commanding man whose political star is quickly rising. There's just one problem -- he has a transgendered girlfriend who won't go away, and this potential senatorial candidate needs Nick to fix the situation.
The sexy, stunning and thrice-married Karen is the eldest daughter, a socialite who runs the family foundation. She lost her virginity to Nick, a fact she isn't shy about telling her newest fiancé. A self-described loser in love, Karen still looks to Nick for help in her personal life.

Nick George
He's a well-meaning, civic-minded lawyer in his 30s, Nick is a husband, father and son to the Darling family attorney, Devlin George. Growing up in a troubled household (his mother left when he was seven), he always came second to his father's job. Though he promised himself he would never follow in his father's footsteps, he is inevitably drawn to the Darling family when his father dies suddenly in a mysterious manner and agrees to be their chief counsel.
Patrick "Tripp" Darling III
Tripp is the Darling family patriarch. Now in his 60s, he has amassed a wealth of such enormity that he owns vineyards and maintains residences around the world, including one in Upper East Side, Manhattan. With his wife, Letitia, they have raised five grown, troubled children: Patrick, Karen, Brian, Jeremy and Juliet.
Letitia Darling
Letitia is the Darling family matriarch. Friends with the Vanderbilt family, she is a socialite of formidable standing in New York. Rendered devastated by Devlin George's death, the truth about the nature of their relationship comes to light when her daughter, Karen, reveals that they were engaged in a years-long affair.
Patrick Darling
Patrick is the firstborn child of Tripp and Letitia Darling. Now in his 40s, he is the New York State Attorney General married with two kids. A rising political star, he intends to be a Senatorial candidate. There's only one glitch in the plan: he's been having a torrid affair with a transsexual who refuses to go away.
Karen Darling
Karen Darling is the eldest daughter in the Darling family. Thrice married, she also runs the family's charitable foundation. Nick and Karen were romantically involved at one point in time (she lost her virginity to him) and the latter always thought she would end up his wife. She now resents the fact that it didn't turn out that way.
Reverend Brian Darling
Brian Darling is the middle child of the Darling family. In his 30s, he is a priest affiliated with the Episcopal Church, even though he has an illegitimate child who he won't admit is his. Described as a "pale, sour, whiny jerk", he loathed Nick George as a child and hates him even more today. He once spitefully accused Devlin George of trying to ingratiate himself with his family, and now feels Nick is attempting to do the same.
Jeremy Darling
Jeremy Darling (along with Juliet) is half of the set of twins that make up the youngest members of Darling family. Addicted to coke, he is frequently seen hung over, chain-smoking and pleading with Nick George to get him out of a jam. Completely oblivious to other people's suffering and unable to imagine a life worse than his, Jeremy often fears that he is the family disappointment and that his father abhors him.
Juliet Darling
Juliet Darling (along with Jeremy) is half of the set of twins that make up the youngest members of the Darling family. Described as being spoiled and petulant (albeit with a heart), she is in her 20s. A former debutante, she is presently aiming to be taken seriously as an actress and was later devastated to learn that she only received the role of Susy Hendrix (once portrayed by Audrey Hepburn) in the play, "Wait Until Dark", because her father was bankrolling the production.
Lisa George
Lisa George is the loving, attractive wife of Nick George. Mother to their 7-year-old daughter, Kiki, she is a patient partner in parenting and enjoys the frequent, lavish parties that the Darlings throw in which she is now privy to. Despite their newfound wealth, Lisa is also aware of the fact that her husband might be drifting away from her and growing closer to his old flame, Karen Darling.
