This was classic Psych.  Gus was hilarious when he met Mira for the first time in years, Shawn took a bit of a back seat in this episode and that seemed to make it funnier as the jokes were more abot Gus.  I hope the rest of the episodes in S2 are just as funny.

i just watch this few hours ago i liked the surprise that gus was married but next episode was better with Shawn as Spanish soap Star-that was more funny . The retirement home episode was average.

So i've just started watching Psych and am enjoying it.  James Roday makes a brillant fool of himself.  It is absolutly halarious!! and Dule Hill plays off him so well.  i have no idea how he doesn't crack a smile while James goes off on one of his visions.

The latest episode was ok but i don't know it was slightly missing the humour a bit-nothing funny happened in this episode. nothing really surprises me about Shawn. Gus a safe-cracker?.

Well this was an amusing episode Sean and Gus as models but i didn't see that coming in the middle 2 murders i thought the assistant did it, the dating was funny with sean father.

once again a great episode!!  those 2 just crack me up.  Gus was great with the whole wont go into the mummy room.  i was worried that the chief was gonna actually leave the show glad shawn stopped that.  and the ending - can't wait to meet how they got to paly the role of shawns mom.

That was a complete shocker because i never saw that coming it's good thing we only 4 months new season to start. i know they probably haven't cast her yet but like you said i wonder which actress will play her.

This was a good episode cause it didn't unfold like all the rest.  i loved that someone got one over on shawn and had him fooled.  It doesn't happen very often.   poor gus he has some very bad taste in women.

I just got done watching episode 1X04 and I have watched other episodes.  It's Ok to watch once in awhile.  It's not the type of comedy I enjoy.  I rather watch Monk.

Like Penny, I find Monk a little more comedic, yet Psych is amusing to watch... USA has great taste in shows...Burn Notice is still on my list of things to do and In Plain Sight looks very good! I hope we get it when it premieres in the summer...

we never would have watched this show if it hadn't been for redsoxpatriot. we are totally addicted now though. it's a great spin on the detective/crime genre and gus is a great sidekick to shawn's over-the-top insanity. we still don't understand how he does the little zoom feature with his eyes though!

I enjoyed this episode. I have to say that no matter how unhappy I may be before I watch an episode of Psych, this show is guaranteed to have me smiling in under 5 minutes. I was surprised to find out who the "killer" was. I normally have the right person in mind, but this episode threw my off guard. My favorite parts of this episode were the "gay couple" part, the "saying-hi-to-Buzz" part, and all of the parts that involved the cat.   This show is so great and I still can't get enough of it.

Cybill shepherd as Shawn mother-i have not seen seen her for ages in television/films-she has kind disappeared but it's great to see her   . Shawn and gus wrestling each other was plain funny. i might not like this show as much as i admit but it's only comical effect of these two that put a smile on my face.

Shawn set up Gus bosses-i should of known he would  somehow get Gus job back

Great episode! This went right out of the park! When I was watching a commercial for this the other day, I knew it sounded fun. Abigail was really nice and added to the story a bit...I was hoping Shawn would go out with her... I guess Julie is the only one though. I do hope Abigail comes back! The story itself was very good... I've only seen about 7 episodes of Psych and this is a definite favorite of mine. Last week's season premiere was a warm up and was OK, but they definitely stepped it up a notch. What makes this episode work is that Shawn can be goofy like always, have a decent crime and can include a little seriousness... This season could get very interesting...

Not a bad start to the new season and it was nice episode to watch but title gave away the whole plot of the episode just from the title i worked out everything . Still having his dad supervise him was funny

Sorry I read over the line of the discussion thread.
I liked the episode. It was the first one of psych I have ever watched and I think if I ever have the time I will try to catch up.
I like it that he isn't completely psychic and also thinks very well.
It looks a bit like the mentalist only the difference with psychic/no psychic but very attentive

I read somewhere that it is a part off a trilogy with this being the first episode, the episode of the other quiz is the second (so far I am sure) and the third is - I presume - not yet in the air, but might be the final of season 5 (?)

I love these Yin and Yang episodes.
There is (at least) one more, but I think it hasn't aired yet. (source: wikipedia)
I think that Yin and Yang might be his parents... and it was a nice touch that in the end they repeated the words of yang to Shawn and they fit perfectly in the story.

we love psych even if we haven't had time to watch it all yet. the exchanges between wild and crazy shawn and extremely punctilious (look it up) gus are such a relief from the tired old drama of pairing up a guy and a girl and forcing us to believe that the supposed sexual tension will distract us from the show have no decent storyline, rrrrrrgggh. corbin bernsen and cybill shepherd as dad and mom are also outstanding additions. the tarsier can see in the dark but i so wish i had the "make-important-items-in-my-line-of-vision-light-up-and-come-into-sharp-focus" power.

thanks to spratt we got to see the second part of the yin/yang series - great choice for the quizzes!

the break-up was a little tired. abby was a good foil but no match for gus's witticisms. it would have been much stronger to see what lengths shawn would go to if gus were the one in danger. juliet making the plea for abby's life and carlton rushing off to save her were much better moments and the photo at the end was just too creepy. can't wait for the next installment.

I don't know, I like the comedy aspect, after-all it is a comedy.  There are way too many shows that are too serious.
