Premiers 14 January 2016
In a dystopian, near-future Los Angeles, California a couple, Katie (Callies) and Will (Holloway) Bowman live with two children, under a regime of military occupation, by an organization known as the Colony Transitional Authority. They are part of a larger invading force, of extraterrestrial origin, who are referred to as the Hosts, and as the Raps, apparently a reference to raptors (the logo of their human forces features a stylized bird of prey). It is said of them that "no one ever sees them". An enormous wall, as tall as a skyscraper and hundreds of yards thick, surrounds Los Angeles and other major cities (now called Blocs), while various buildings still display severe damage from armed conflict during the invasion, known as the Arrival. The geographical extent of the alien invasion is unclear, but presumably worldwide.
The occupying forces shown to the viewers are all human, speak American English, and consist of black-and-red-uniformed militarized police with automatic weapons and armored personnel carriers. They are nicknamed the Redhats, and more properly called, along with a privileged class of elites, the Proxies, also denigrated as the Collaborators, suggesting that they were all drawn by the Hosts from the local population. The Redhats are also referred to as Homeland Security, suggesting that the entire U.S. Department of Homeland Security is now under the control of this Transitional Authority. These forces maintain control by separation of loved ones, shoot-on-sight curfews, capricious "disappearing" of citizens at gunpoint, random checkpoints and frequent electronic identity checks, limiting of motor vehicle usage to official transport by special permit only (most citizens must walk or ride bicycles), pervasive visual propaganda, slave labor in a facility called the Factory for any transgressors (and their families) who are not executed, and electronic surveillance with drone aircraft that appear to use some form of anti-gravity.
Many medical problems, such as diabetes, have been "deemed unworthy for treatment" by the Hosts, to cull the population with a crude form of eugenics. There is an active resistance movement referred to as both the Resistance and the Insurgency (without universal support among the population, even among non-Collaborators), alongside a black market, though both are subject to ruthless suppression. Most basic resources appear to be provided on a rationed basis by the unseen occupation authorities, while limited, secretive trade is conducted between citizens by bartering home-produced and stolen goods. The Collaborators believe that the Hosts (whom they refer to as "our Hosts") will leave Earth after taking the resources they need.
The Bowmans, who are involved in the Resistance, seek their middle child (younger son), Charlie, who was separated from them during the Arrival, while they try to survive with meager resources in a changed world that is constantly dangerous despite its urban veneer of order. They are suddenly thrust into the position of acting as double agents.
This was a nice behind-the-scenes look and introduction to the main cast but the special effects were impressive

Talk about bad luck just getting smuggled through the checkpoint only to have the truck behind blow up but the way the family stand up for themselves was great, Alan cooking breakfast was a surprise but being in their home could make them a target and Katie choosing the other side was a shock Author: bala Time: 1-24-2016 03:26 Subject: Reply 6#6 codebreaker's post
Katie was best twist in the episode since she really look like housewife. Author: codebreaker Time: 1-24-2016 03:31 Subject: 1x02 A Brave New World
Katie receiving her first assignment was interesting as they were spot on about Will's first task but catching the bomber so quick was impressive and I think Katie would be the last one Will would suspect as the leak Author: codebreaker Time: 1-24-2016 03:32
Katie's reaction after her first mission went wrong was bad but you can understand why they killed him in-case he talked Author: codebreaker Time: 2-1-2016 05:13
Katie moving the photo from where the fire started could make things suspicious but being recruited by Will's boss was surprising and what an ending Author: codebreaker Time: 2-7-2016 05:53
talk about stuck between 2 agendaAuthor: codebreaker Time: 3-2-2016 03:41 Subject: 1x05 Geronimo
You would of thought they would of been watching the drainage pipe better and Katie is bound to feel guilty for identifying Phyllis to Quayle but Snyder going public was stupid and you just knew he wouldn't honer the deal Author: codebreaker Time: 3-2-2016 03:42
Snyder was lucky her had Will in the convoy and Katie was lucky she got back to the bar before Will but amusing how close their paths crossed at both ends and what a dilemma for Katie to give up Snyder and risk not seeing her son again Author: codebreaker Time: 3-2-2016 09:19
I expected the house to be empty not explode considering there were kids in the neighbourhood and I'm impressed Jennifer got through all that paperwork on the suspect, Nolan screwing over Maddie was a little predictable Author: codebreaker Time: 3-2-2016 11:28
Will killing Quayle was surprising but the fact he outed Katie he had it coming especial after putting the hit on her and how long will Will pretend he doesn't know Author: codebreaker Time: 3-4-2016 09:29
This has now been added to the VIP site Author: codebreaker Time: 3-14-2016 12:43 Subject: 1x09 Zero Day
Maddie getting her boss in an awkward predicament was karma for the way she treated her and what has Katie got herself involved in Author: codebreaker Time: 3-14-2016 12:44
The Resistance stuffed up killing the visitor and how ironic Will has the chance to find his missing son at the same time the other is arrested Author: codebreaker Time: 3-18-2016 12:31

i am glad this got renewed as it would been an awful cliffhangerAuthor: bala Time: 1-6-2017 13:52
Disappointing start with them playing happy families rather than continuing from last season with their missing son and arrested son but at leased by the end it became obvious it was like a prequel the last season Author: codebreaker Time: 1-13-2017 09:51
Allowing a man to frisk a woman when there were woman guards available was disgusting and it's a good job Will decided to trust his old friend as he wouldn't of found Charlie but going after the guy that abused him was risky Author: codebreaker Time: 9-22-2017 20:11
Jennifer turning to Katie for help was sneaky as she needed help to prove she's valuable to her new boss and you cant blame Bram for helping Snyder if he gets him home but the drone not shooting Will was strange Author: codebreaker Time: 9-22-2017 20:12
Jennifer watching the Bowman house was understandable but the positions of some of the cameras was disturbing and her boss pushing her you can see she's getting desperate but protecting them at the cost of her job was surprising Author: codebreaker Time: 9-22-2017 20:13
Putting their own camera on the drone was a smart move and Snyder has his work cut out keeping Bram safe when he's lying to him but Lindsey being kicked out was understandable after what she done to Charlie Author: codebreaker Time: 9-22-2017 20:14
Will trying to help his wife isn't going to be easy with him being watched like a hawk and what a shame the doctor couldn't help him with the radiation poisoning but Will being asked to stop his suffering was sad Author: codebreaker Time: 9-22-2017 20:15
Wow Frankie was cold killing her boyfriend like that but I guess he knew he was carrying a bomb and the way Burke operates is just as bad as the resistance but Will sticking his nose in didn't help Author: codebreaker Time: 9-22-2017 20:16
Bram had a tough call giving Snyder what he wants to hide the evidence and Katie was lucky she wasn't caught trying to help the fugitive escape the occupation and Will was lucky he wasn't named letting him escape in the first place, Charlie saving Grace was impressive Author: codebreaker Time: 9-22-2017 20:17
Using the old plane was pushing their luck with so many drones about but she was lucky to land in the pool as she came down rather fast and Bob was on the right track with his suspicions of the Bowman family but offering to sell out the pilot to save himself was understandable and Katie rescuing the kids was awesome Author: codebreaker Time: 9-22-2017 20:18
Katie trying to warn Maddie was understandable and no surprise Nolan didn't stand up for her when they came to question her but trying to set Katie up to be captured was disappointing Author: codebreaker Time: 9-22-2017 20:19
The different points of view about the attack on the Green Zone was different but I thought Bram was going to be recognised during the home invasion especial as his partner was shot and Bram killing Ambassador King was surprising Author: codebreaker Time: 9-22-2017 20:20
Maddie must feel violated after what Nolan did before she was detained and the drones spearing Broussard's life like they did Will's was a nice surprise Author: codebreaker Time: 9-22-2017 20:21
What a wakeup call for Maddie now she's not under Nolan's protection and Alan trying to help them get out was nice but that was a close call with the guard
