The Slap (US) Premiered on NBC on February 12, 2015
"The Slap" is a miniseries based on the book by Christos Tsiolkas and the Australian television series ("The Slap") produced by Matchbox Pictures.
Meet Hector (Peter Sarsgaard, "An Education," "Blue Jasmine"), a public servant, husband, father and valued friend on the cusp of his 40th birthday. Meet Aisha (Thandie Newton, "Crash," "Beloved"), Hector's beautiful and intelligent wife who is planning his party filled with friends and his very boisterous Greek family. Sounds like the makings of a great day, right? Wrong.
As Hector tries to navigate family politics, awkward friendships and the young woman he is dangerously captivated by, the built-up tension explodes when Hector's hotheaded cousin slaps another couple's misbehaving child. Everyone is understandably stunned, and the party abruptly ends with the child's parents vowing legal action. What the hosts and guests don't know, however, is that this moment will ignite a chain of events that will uncover long-buried secrets within this group of friends and family... and vigorously challenge the core values of everyone involved.
"The Slap" also stars Uma Thurman (" Pulp Fiction," "Kill Bill"), Zachary Quinto ("Star Trek," "American Horror Story"), Melissa George ("30 Days of Night," "In Treatment"), Thomas Sadoski ("The Newsroom") and Brian Cox ("X-Men 2," "Red 2").
From writer-executive producer Jon Robin Baitz ("Brothers & Sisters"), executive producers Walter F. Parkes and Laurie MacDonald ("Gladiator," the "Men in Black" franchise) and director (pilot only) and executive producer Lisa Cholodenko ("The Kids Are All Right," "Olive Kitteridge"), comes this unflinching look at how one little slap can have a huge impact.

are you going watch US version as well ? Author: codebreaker Time: 2-13-2015 02:13 Subject: 1x01 Hector
As it's been over three years since the original I'll give this a go and try and compare what I wrote for the original back in 2011, I'm disappointed they felt the need to include Rosie breast feeding Hugo after throwing the records across the floor but not punishing for throwing the Ipad and for ripping up the garden was crazy as all Rosie did was breast feed him when he was naughty, the grandparents saying the brat deserved it was amusing Author: codebreaker Time: 2-13-2015 04:31
Harry trying to get a witness to testify on his behalf was never going to be easy but the fact Gary and Rosie didn't seek medical advice making it harder for them was surprising, after seeing Harry loosing his temper with his wife he deeded to try and stop it going to court Author: codebreaker Time: 2-27-2015 00:03
Anouk telling Rosie to drop the case was surprising but saying Hugo swinging a bat was as unacceptable as Harry slapping him made a nice change and I had a feeling after she snapped that she was pregnant with Jamie's baby Author: codebreaker Time: 3-5-2015 10:41
Rosie just sitting there while Hugo smashing his toy truck up the wall was crazy parenting as it's obvious the kid is that spoilt he is out of control and Manolis trying to encourage Aisha to forgive Harry was interesting as he found out he hit his wife Author: codebreaker Time: 3-7-2015 00:27
I'm cant believe that they agreed to go to trial after that pre trial hearing as Hugo received no medical treatment and the rest of them reluctant to give evidence but Connie acting up I thought was asking for trouble Author: codebreaker Time: 3-17-2015 02:06

Connie telling Rosie about Ritchie having photos of the slap was wrong as he didn't want to get involved and Hugo being photographed in the park was wrong but the fact he was fighting over a truck just shows what sort of kid he is, Hector surprising Aisha with a romantic getaway would of been nice if he hadn't spoilt it be telling her about Connie Author: codebreaker Time: 4-1-2015 13:28
It's not looking good for Hugo with him first being photographed in the park and now having a tantrum in school but Rosie paying Harry a visit was surprising especially as she wanted to drop the case but as Harry had been classed as a child abuser on line you cant blame him wanting to go to court to clear his name Author: codebreaker Time: 4-1-2015 13:57
Digging into Ritchie's past just to discredit him as a witness was diabolical and you had to feel for Connie as she had no idea it would go this far but the verdict was great as she also blamed the parents for neglect Author: codebreaker Time: 4-9-2015 10:45

I didn't know it was against the law to hit a child that seem strange to me as most parents i know do hit the kids when they misbehave guess it's a different culture i came from. That slap did sound a bit loud for effect and i am guessing he was annoyed at the dad after argument they were having lead to his violent outburst .
Hextor stopping the affair was good thing but him thanking the slap for him to stop was sad.

Getting a witness was hard but if he had kept his cool he could of made it go away but his temper is what's going to get him in trouble and another guy cheating on his wife . Author: bala Time: 4-18-2015 06:11 Subject: Reply 11#11 codebreaker's post
This was nice distraction having an episode where the character has own problems to deal with but i am glad she decided to keep the baby Author: bala Time: 4-18-2015 07:36 Subject: Reply 13#13 codebreaker's post
That kid really does need some discipline but look both of them are not bothered but digging up dirt on them is just going to make the situation worse Author: bala Time: 4-18-2015 08:35 Subject: Reply 15#15 codebreaker's post
Connie telling her about the photos as payback for what happen with husband was awful i don't think she would told her if he hadn't rejected her but these sideline issues about characters are really interesting. Author: bala Time: 4-18-2015 09:39 Subject: Reply 17#17 codebreaker's post
Aisha being stuck in middle of this situation is unfortunate but finding out affair was bad but telling him about her affair seem like there can get past it. Author: bala Time: 4-18-2015 11:45 Subject: Reply 19#19 codebreaker's post
I don't think she realised how far it would go and now she looking for a way out Author: bala Time: 4-18-2015 11:55 Subject: Reply 21#21 codebreaker's post
This was the toughest episode out of the whole series to watch because Richie was really by stander and having his past revealed was unfortunate consequence to the point where he considered taking his own life . I am glad he managed to testify and his explanation was right he really didn't want expose all the secrets there were hiding.
The verdict was great hope this teach them and people to be careful when around children you can't expect other people look after your kids while at party , expecting a time out from parenting because it's a social situation. .
I am sure most parents are guilty of this once in while but this show what could happen when something unexpected happens. Author: Milks26 Time: 8-31-2016 17:32
What else can I say - but pretty damn good. I want to see the original Australian version so badly now.
I would've slapped Rosie and Hugo more than once. That woman was insufferable.
