12 Monkeys Premieres on Syfy on January 16, 2015



12 Monkeys is a drama based on the 1995 Universal Pictures film directed by Terry Gilliam.

The show follows the journey of a time traveler, Cole, from the post-apocalyptic future.  Using a dangerous and untested method of time travel, Cole arrives in the present day on a mission to locate and eradicate the source of a deadly plague that will eventually decimate 93.6% of the human race. Will Cole be able to save the fate of mankind or is mankind bound by fate? Taking place in the ravaged future of 2043 and the present day (2015), 12 Monkeys explores themes of destiny, fate, love and the possibility of second chances.

Atlas Entertainment’s Charles Roven (American Hustle, Man of Steel, The Dark Knight Trilogy) and Richard Suckle (American Hustle, The International) serve as Executive Producers. Roven produced the original film. Terry Matalas & Travis Fickett (Nikita), writers of the pilot, will serve as Co-Executive Producers with Natalie Chaidez (In Plain Sight, V, Heroes) as Executive Producer/Showrunner. Jeffrey Reiner (Friday Night Lights) directed and served as Executive Producer on the pilot.

Since i hadn't watched the movie i came into this without any knowledge and i have say i really like the first episode but constant time travelling storyline should make this series interesting.

After killing the man he think responsible for the plague and nothing happens we were introduced to his daughter and this episode introduces a new bad guy who is killer for anyone finds out about plague. . They really should make sure time travelling is more accurate than accidental transporting him to wrong place.

James reluctantly volunteering to be sent back in time to 1996 to gather information on the lethal virus that had wiped out five billion people was interesting as it first looked like it didn't affect the animals and         
Kathryn not running when she had the chance on his second visit was surprising, still being reluctant to believe him after being right about the boy and then vanishing while splashing in the puddle was frustrating and the ending was disappointing

Cassandra replacing Kathryn but James having the same name was not what I expected as it started similar to the film with James kidnapping her the watch trick and taking her with him was a great way to save her

Sending James to Korea 2006 by mistake was great as that's the sort of thing that happened in the film but at leased they got him to the right place in the end and Cassandra saving James was great payback for him saving her

James trying not to cross paths with Cassandra in 2014 was understandable but the fazing in an out was a close call

Cole and Ramse being hunted was going to threaten the past and possible the future if he didn't make it back in time and the fact Cole talked during torture was understandable as he was hallucinating

Katarina joining the others for a drink was a nice surprise and I was wondering what the story behind her short marriage was until seeing those  photos so I guess he was an earlier experiment

Crashing the car at such a slow speed in the hope to over power Cole was lame but the Back to the Future reference was amusing as he did see him vanish

Aaron being more worried about his suit than the fact he just seen James disappear was amusing and what an emotional phone call while they organised an air strike

Cole was lucky to survive the air strike considering Dr. Jones time machine was broken and Cassandra thinking he's dead should make things interesting the next time they meet

There are far too many time jumps in this episode starting in 2017 and jumping 17 time before finishing back in 2043 after seeing Cassie die as if you blink and miss the year it just get confusing

Cole having to deal with the fallout of Ramse attempting to protect his new family was interesting but you just knew it would backfire and trust him to use the machine himself

This was very complicated episode and revealing why Cole keep on failing in previous episodes was interesting

Cassandra convincing 2015 Jones to try and save Cole was great and Aaron getting Cole's father killed trying to keep Cassandra safe was tragic but at leased he had some time with him

I am not even sure i understand all events that happened in this episode because it looked like no matter what Cole did it destiny for virus to get out one way or another meaning all that effort went for nothing .

Looks like Cole and Ramse have repaired their broken friendship but the Dr paid the ultimate price for trying to double cross them was karma and I thought Cassandra was going to be stuck in the future for a while

Cole and Cassie travelling to 1940s New York was fascinating especially as she didn't dress for the year at first and the outcome of trying to kill the boy was surprising

Jones having to place her trust in Ramse to bring Cole and Cassie safely home was understandable and what she promised was surprising but sods law he gets hit by a car on arrival but the look on the FBI Agent face when they disappeared was priceless

Cassie's hallucinations seem to be getting more frequent and the state of the first test subjects when the time machine starts malfunctioning was shocking and what a shame Ramse lost his son

This show has really jump the shark it getting rather confusing and absurd with all time manipulation

Cassie being sent to 2020 by Jones with the intentions of Killing the younger Jones did seem bizarre but James intervening was different especially with the ground hog day effect and saving Hannah was  surprising

Cassandra trying to talk Cole into going to Titan was understandable but you just knew he would figure out that Ramse was behind it and Jennifer wanting a moment to talk to herself sounded funny but as her older self was dying she had to take over

Attempting to stop the final paradox in 1957 was interesting and taking 11 month's was surprising but the drawing guy was a little disturbing with Cole saying the pages were stuck together and how on earth did the get it so wrong

You can understand why they were sceptical when Ramse returned with Olivia but them not taking any chance with her cage was great but using the machine to torture her was going too far

When Cole discovers who the Witness is I doubt he would kill his own child and would stop anyone else from doing it but Ramse would be willing to kill her without blinking it' lucky for Cassandra that he killed the wrong doctor

Cassandra and Cole had to keep the identity of the witness to them selves but having to get to the painting first to keep their secret from the others wasn't going to be easy especially with Jennifer mission being rather impressive and Jennifer using her hand to protect the secret was nice

Aethan courting Eliza after she first robbed him was rather sweet and what he did in the restaurant to prove he wasn't trying to humiliate her was nice but how she died was tragic and how many times he manipulated time to try and save her was unbelievable

Aethan trying to kill his parents was understandable after all he's been through and retuning to their home they made back in 1959 made sense and you just knew the others wouldn't be far behind, Olivia playing them all just to find the Witness was impressive but him having other ideas thanks to Jennifer was great
