Halt and Catch Fire Premieres on AMC on June 01, 2014



Set in the early 1980s, “Halt & Catch Fire” dramatizes the personal computing boom through the eyes of a visionary, an engineer and a prodigy whose innovations directly confront the corporate behemoths of the time. Their personal and professional partnership will be challenged by greed and ego while charting the changing culture in Texas' Silicon Prairie. From AMC Studios, “Halt & Catch Fire” is created by Chris Cantwell and Chris Rodgers. What a way for Joe to spoil the moment with Cameron but Joe following Gordon and his family to the cinema with his idea was a bold move but you can understand why Gordon was reluctant with him having a family to support, spending the whole weekend rewriting the boot code was impressive and reprogramming his daughters spell checker was nice

Well it was good pilot it crazy to think IBM were market leaders when so many computer modal out here now but i agree manually rewriting the boot code was a very long process but his wife telling him it's Monday was priceless

Cameron sleeping on the job trying to make Joe's vision a reality while Gordon goes home was dedication but loosing 68% of their business going up against IBM was bound to make things awkward

Joe and John seeking the funds to make the new portable machine was understandable after loosing so much business and Donna solving the size at the kitchen table was impressive considering Gordon is supposed to be the expert but firing the guy after the crash was understandable as he has been nothing but a hindrance

Cooking the books was an amusing way to start and Joe's plan to get a story for the press was devious but putting Donna's own job on the line was terrible

Yes he really had tough choice firing all those people due loss of business but keep him on because he was their next door neighbour was wrong choice but he really didn't have a choice.

Well what Joe did to get publicity was crazy but Donna finding out he had back all along was smart and when she told her husband his reaction was the same as Joe . Glad he has someone point out ethics to him because Joe really shouldn't be his role model.

Cameron finding out what Donna thought of her was sad but almost going to their house and gaffti it was a close call thanks neigbour showing what she would be missing .

Well that one dedicated father willing to walk through a storm to get a doll for his daughter especially with amount pressure he has at his job . Cameron wanting to evolve the operating system to add command was ambitious i can't believe we take those granted .

I remember when we had to use commands to start a pc . Now we just switch on a button the computer automatically loads everything for us.

Cameron making the most of her new accommodation was amusing but not lasting long was predictable and Cameron using the games as a way to find the best programmers was clever

After what Donna did to help them at the risk of her own job Gordon going for the doll for his daughter was the least he could do but buying a brick for $80 was karma for forgetting and what Cameron wanted to do with the operating system was ambitious but would put them above the others, Joe entertaining the girls during the storm was nice

I had a feeling that Gordon was heading for a mental breakdown it's a good thing his wife came in early after she kissed her boss or things could been a lot worse i was surprised Gordon hadn't bleed out from that cut in his hand consider how big the hole was in back garden.

With Gordon's behaviour after Donna left town it was obvious he was heading for a break down and drinking while cooking with his children was asking for trouble, Donna kissing her co-worker first was a surprise as I expected him to make the first move

I have to admit Joe revelation came as a surprised who thought he swing both ways and what Cameron asked him at end was sad .

Donna not complaining about Gordon's credit card charges was understandable as she was feeling guilty over the kiss and John getting arrested was bad timing but Gordon stripping down the computer was quick thinking

This really was a surprise how they got money to fund the project but being arrested came as a surprise . Who would thought Cameron taught him how to do it was certainly wrong . Look like they decided go rogue i can't wait to see how this turn out but i am happy Donna didn't leave Gordon

Running that many computers at Mutiny was asking for trouble as it looked like a normal house but Cameron stealing the neighbours power was surprising and Joe not getting his check was karma for burning the shipment, the girls getting justice for the computers they brought was impressive

I'm not surprised there is tension between Cameron and Donna in the aftermath of Sonaris thanks to Gordon, lets hope Gordon helping to make Joe's vision a reality keeps him out of trouble but fainting didn't look good

Donna and Gordon having a vacation at home instead of camping made sense as they wasn't fully prepared and with the children were away they could have some alone time but she should of kept her mouth shut about not liking camping, the way Cameron found out Donna lied about Diane making the decision not to fire them was unfortunate

She is slowly losing her company with other people making decision without her but her idea was good creating a way no charge for the customer using a payment system. We takes this for granted now but it really was something back than.

The time jumps are getting a bit ridclous don't you think?

Each season they jumping time at this rate by end of the 5th season it would be 2016

We jumped from 1975 to 1993 in 3 seasons

I noticed windows version 3 but not the year and copyright from the 1990's was a different way to announce the year
