Love Child Premiered on Nine Network on February 17, 2014
Channel Nine’s new drama series Love Child, starring Jessica Marais, Jonathan LaPaglia and Mandy McElhinney; produced in Sydney. It’s 1969 in Kings Cross and Joan Miller (Jessica Marais), a smart and sophisticated midwife, returns home from London to take a job at the Kings Cross Hospital and find a new life for herself, at a time when Australia is coming of age and the new generation believes anything is possible. Jonathan LaPaglia plays the charismatic Dr Patrick McNaughton, head of obstetrics at Kings Cross Hospital, and Mandy McElhinney plays Frances Bolton, the tough matron who also controls the running of Stanton House, a home for unwed pregnant young women. Their lives intersect between Kings Cross Hospital, Stanton House and the wild streets of Darlinghurst beyond the hospital walls. The cast also includes Ryan Corr, Ella Scott Lynch, Sophie Hensser, Miranda Tapse

Checking the Kama Sutra while making out in the car was interesting but looks like it didn't cover contraceptive and I cant believe Viv's father drugged her like that so she could be sent to a home for unmarried mothers and what a stroke of luck Joan the midwife returned home from London as she was the only one who had the girls interests at heart and her face when she realised it was a forced adoption was sad Author: codebreaker Time: 2-20-2014 08:54

You just knew the girls would make fun of Patricia for asking where the baby comes out and Wendy volunteering to show how to put a condom on was amusing but Viv stealing a TV to watch the Apollo launch was surprising and a bigger surprise was how many girls piled around to watch, Matron giving a corset for one of the girls to hid her pregnancy was asking for trouble and Joan saving her life was impressive but I'm not surprised Annie wants her baby back

Joan putting her job on the line to try and help Annie get her baby back was nice but trust Joan to get drunk and let slip to the doctor about Annie getting her baby back as he's the one who's got the baby and telling Annie her baby died to cover up what has happened was sickening Author: codebreaker Time: 3-9-2014 14:36

Viv finding her brother after seeing him on TV was incredible but him agreeing with what his parents did was surprising and I'm not surprised Annie’s life is spiralling out of control after being told the baby died, Matron helping Martha was nice but I guess she's only doing it for the baby Author: codebreaker Time: 3-22-2014 02:02

Joan suspecting there was something off about the so called death of Annie’s baby with the confusion about the death certificate was great and the fact there were no infant death the matron said the baby died in confirmed they was a conspiracy of lies but finding out it was only three weeks before Annie gave birth the doctor lost his child yet they still have a baby Author: codebreaker Time: 7-13-2014 12:02 Subject: 1x07 Episode 7

You can't blame the girls sneaking out to enjoy the new year celebration's but helping the pregnant teen instead was nice and Joan willing to risk her new career as a doctor helping her was what you would expect but what a tragedy dying after giving birth, Viv's mother trying to take control of her life was ironic after allowing her father to drug her Author: codebreaker Time: 6-24-2016 04:19 Subject: 2x02 Episode 2
Joan was bound to try and find the father of Gail's baby and Patrick's letter to the board over Gail's death was understandable but changing his mind was surprising, Viv refusing to let Joan look at her made sense after seeing Gail die but the Matron having Viv's back over her drunk mother was surprising and you have to feel for Shirley after receiving bad news but Viv having twins was a nice surprise Author: codebreaker Time: 6-24-2016 04:20

Martha wanting to see Queen Elizabeth during the 1970 royal tour was understandable with her obsession but going with Patricia to Melbourne so she could marry her Prince Charming was nice until you realised his family were obviously racist, Viv getting arrested after stealing the guys wallet was expected but trying to blame Matron after her twins were adopted was wrong Author: codebreaker Time: 6-24-2016 09:40
I can't believe the custody battle over Gail's baby has becomes so serious that the grandfather would have the father beaten so bad he missed the social workers appointment and what a shame Annie left the baby with him but the baby disappearing was a hell of a wake up call and being called an unfit mother was surprising but glad she got a second chance Author: codebreaker Time: 6-24-2016 11:39 Subject: 2x06 Episode 6

I thought Martha's wedding was jinxed with all the things going wrong but Patty making a new dress so quickly was impressive and looks like Jim is going to be on the run forever but Joan not joining him made sense after finding out he slept with Patty and is also pregnant
