Janet King Premieres on ABC1 on February 27, 2014

JANET KING (Marta Dusseldorp) returns from a year's maternity leave determined
to prove she still has her edge, but finds a very different Department of Public
Prosecutions. Under growing political pressure, director Tony Gillies (Peter Kowitz)
has formed an uneasy alliance with his police counterpart, Chief Superintendent Jack
Rizzoli (Vince Colosimo), and Janet's pre-eminence as Senior Crown Prosecutor is
threatened by rising star Owen Ramsey (Damian Walshe-Howling), a former police
prosecutor, willing to cut corners to win high-profile cases.

When Janet falters in her first case against sexual predator, Alex Mareno, (Darren
Gilshenan), she pulls out all stops to convict high ranking police officer, Steven
Blakely (John Howard), for the assisted suicide of his terminally ill wife.

As the case against Blakely escalates, a terrible murder is discovered. Janet, her DPP
solicitors and the police are propelled into a series of investigations and court actions
that, week by week, reveal a complex web of corruption and conspiracy until the first
two seemingly unconnected cases collide in a shocking reveal that shakes the police,
judiciary and the government to their core.

Under intense scrutiny from Jack Rizzoli and his political masters, and with the
traditional institutions of justice compromised, prosecuting the case becomes a
dangerous battle of strategy and betrayal where no one can be trusted and no tactic
is off limits.

Finding the truth will threaten Janet's career, her young family, and ultimately her life.
Also starring Ella Scott Lynch, Hamish Michael, Andrea Demetriades, Christopher
Morris, Jeanette Cronin, Indiana Evans, Lewis Fitzgerald and Aimee Pedersen. Guest
stars: Terry Serio, Deborah Kennedy, Harriet Dyer, and Akos Armont.

Looks like the Crownies lives on with this spin off along with half the cast as well

This did feel like the Crownies because of the same cast and with Janet returning from maternity leave but being thrown into two interesting cases was a great start but the high ranking police officer helping his wife die was bound to be tough because of who he is but skipping bail after Janet pulled out all stops to convict him should make the next episode interesting

Well i agree this felt like more grown up version of Crownies seeing how each character are in different places is good they got rid personal storyline focus on Janet only which is great.  I also like the fact that you didn't have to watch crownies to follow this series however if you did you caught little bit of storyline they gave us to where character have developed into.

Those were tough cases but Janet did a good job but it did look like he committed suicide by leaving a note on his computer.

I agree looking forward to second episode

Blakely's suspected death was a little predictable as he was on the run for helping his wife die and Janet feeling guilt was understandable as she pulled out all the stops to convict him but the doubt of him being killed rather than suicide was interesting but what a cliffhanger

Erin was very lucky she wasn't hit with a bullet but being covered in the victims blood was tragic but her being the key witness in the case against the two bikies who shot Zebina was understandable as she was looking at them when they shot but the tattoo was a long shot

It was a good cliffhanger but the police really should better job protecting the witness consider they knew this could been a possibility

Well proving the tatoo was definitely a long shot but finding the body showed it could been suicide

Well getting that information from cop who hates her was lucky now janet has something to look for . Well that was certainly taking it a bit too far follow man who was picking up his child

Well that what a call a close call with car bomb but media suggesting Erin and Janet were having an affair was rather amusing

Richard trying to warn Tatum was nice but her using it against him was surprising as they used to be friends and giving her father an alibi was unbelievable considering it could ruin her career, attacking a suspected child offender picking his daughter up from school won't do her career any good

Lina's child abuse case being linked to Janet's case was a lucky break but with the car bomb she must be getting close for somebody wanting her dead and Lina is on the top of the suspect list for spreading rummer about Erin and Janet

Trying to get a warrant to see the birthmark on his penis was interesting but the way he looked at her in court I'm not surprise she had cold feet about testifying and that sounded like a threat from the judge

With the judge being found dead it's a good job Janet had police protection as she would of been the number one suspect and Owen refusing to see the girl at nine does make himself look like he's a mole but they should of had him followed to his important meeting

Well telling Tracy was smart because she found out who he was meeting with and knowing he was behind lesbian story was sad

Wow so much information happened in this episode i don't know ruin all revelations that happened in this episode but just when you think it was all over Janet figures out who was really behind the car bomb. I guess Janet didn't give Jack any options .  That 10 million pay off for Tony to keep his mouth shut was a good offer but asking 20 million was priceless .

Tatum's childhood recollections of her father did make it look like his arrest was a mistake but Jack killing himself rather than kill Janet was surprising after the car bomb

Janet heading up the Royal Commission into gun crime is a great honour but why wait until the death told reached 19 and I thought that woman running would also get shot, the guy issuing the summons shouldn't of done it at night while she was alone and that ending was a surprise

The suspect taking the money to Richard was surprising as they thought she was meeting the killer and the results from ballistics on the gun was surprising

Janet was going to put all her efforts in to finding the shooter with the gun also killing Ashleigh

If Todd stealing Major Simon Hamilton identity wasn't bad enough but buying a Ferrari in his name could of drove Simon to kill him and Janet's embryo case taking a set back was surprising, Richard being in the wrong place for his date could of blown the case and that was some gun haul in that container
Author: codebreaker    Time: 4-22-2016 03:32     Subject: 2x05 Apprehended Violence

Making all those guns safe before putting them back in the container as a sting operation was going to take time and them being in no hurry to collect the container after being cleared at customs was frustrating but what a cliffhanger
Author: codebreaker    Time: 4-28-2016 13:41     Subject: 2x06 The Thaw

Janet the Ice Queen being accused of perverting the coarse of justice had merit after hearing about those text's and who was responsible for the investigation was diabolical all because she lost the case over the frozen embryo

Ironic his wife fired the 3D gun that injured herself because he was having a gay relationship but unfortunate she got the wrong man and Janet sleeping with her protection was surprising as I thought she would hook up with the coffee girl

What a stroke of look they had CCTV inside the fridge container with the guns but needing her job back at the Royal Commission before any arrests made things more challenging and who would of thought the guy who gave Janet the job was involved but the biggest surprise was the coffee girl was Ash's killer and tried to kill her kids
