The Tunnel Premieres on Sky Atlantic on October 16, 2013

The Tunnel is a gripping new thriller from the makers of Broadchurch, set against the backdrop of Europe in crisis.

When a prominent French politician is found dead on the border between the UK and France, detectives Karl Roebuck (Games of Thrones’ Stephen Dillane) and Elise Wassermann (Harry Potter's Clémence Poésy) are sent to investigate on behalf of their respective countries. The case takes a surreal turn when a shocking discovery is made at the crime scene, forcing the French and British police into an uneasy partnership.

As the serial killer uses ever more elaborate and ingenious methods to highlight the moral bankruptcy of modern society, Karl and Elise are drawn deeper into his increasingly personal agenda.

Joining stars Stephen and Clémence are Joseph Mawle, who plays social worker Stephen Beaumont, and Tom Bateman as UK journalist Danny Hillier, who unintentionally becomes caught in the serial killer’s web, while Ashes To Ashes' Keeley Hawes and the venerable Liz Smith (The Royal Family) join them from episode two.

Tobi Bakare, Jeanne Balibar, Thibault de Montalembert, Mathieu Carrièrre, Angel Coulby and Jack Lowden also star, with Ben Richards (Spooks, Outcasts, Party Animals) heading up an Anglo-French writing team behind the 10-part series.

What's wrong with that and the fact it's a tunnel should make it a little different

The body being placed it the middle of a secure access tunnel would suggest a maintenance worker but the body being in two pieces wasn't a surprise or the fact it was two different halves and I'm a little disappointed how much was in French with English subtitles

How can the home help swap the medication when the old woman is obviously in pain and is also glad the help is there instead of her own children, Elise going alone to the slaughter house was foolish and she was lucky to get out alive

What a shame the French kids couldn't free the old man before the killer returned but why they thought the place was a wine cellar was bizarre as it looked more like an abandoned prison

I'm impressed they narrowed the cold storage where the old man was held to just two places from the audio from the web-cam but tragically the old guy died and I cant believe he escaped with so many police shooting at him, I was surprised the kids were still alive

The samaurai mission was gruesome but being stopped before he killed himself wasn't part of the master plan and for once he was speechless with Danny but as soon as Benji wanted to use the toilet I had a feeling he would kill himself, Elise saying Laura's dinner was bland was a little insensitive and Sophie was lucky

Stephen trying to escape on the ship was pointless but killing himself with the knife was a surprise and I knew Karl's son Adam fancied Elise but I didn't expect him to spend the night at her place

I cant believe he took the minibus full of children hostage just to highlight the child labour in the manufacture of trainers and killing the driver was tragic but at leased he did everything he could to save the children, the reporter was stupid to trust him

You can understand why Elise was pissed after the French police capture the prime suspect before losing him but shooting at the car knowing he had a police officer hostage was risky and I wonder if they still would of kidnapped Elise if she was still talking on the phone, the shooting at the farm house was a surprise

John worming his way into Laura's life was predictable but Karl's son falling for his on-line chat under the name Becky was interesting and talk about a close call entering his house, Laura was lucky to survive the booby-trap but why she hesitated after stepping off the trigger was crazy and now Adam is in danger

The manikin holding the mobile phone was a cruel trick as he was bound to think it was Adam and Elise tipping all the files on the floor looking for something specific seemed strange but talking Karl out of killing him was impressive as he deserved to die for what he had done

What a start to the new season with the missing parents in the tunnel and the plane crash so it looked like Karl and Elise have more than one new case to solve but I'm sure they are linked

Spoiler alert!
Don't read until they have been added
I should of guest the woman with the missing passport would become a suspect or she is the luckiest woman alive with everyone dying on the plane, Elise trying to get the young girl to talk was never going to be easy but she was right to think her stepfather saying I told you not the kid was suspicious and it looked like the girl shot at the retreat was the target

The gunman at the retreat filming his kills was surprising and they didn't do a good job of hiding the body of the girl left in the tunnel's mother, capturing the girl they were looking for was great but you knew she wouldn't talk as she tried to kill herself first
Author: codebreaker    Time: 4-17-2016 05:51     Subject: Sabotage 2x04 Episode 4

The woman dying while she was supposed to be in police protection was tragic and the hostage situation at the station was risky but the young female officer I thought was killed by another cop and I expected he would go the hospital to finish her off but glad he killed himself instead, Elise trading herself as a hostage was brave
Author: codebreaker    Time: 4-17-2016 07:19     Subject: Sabotage 2x05 Episode 5

The woman should of reported the unregistered boat rather than stick her nose in which got herself killed and I'm impressed they found the boat anyway but Robert getting away was predictable
Author: codebreaker    Time: 4-17-2016 08:17     Subject: Sabotage 2x06 Episode 6

Robert leaving without saying goodbye was a bad idea as they didn't want him to leave with the police looking for him but killing him to make a statement was karma and Elise asking Erica out for a drink was bizarre as she don't drink but I thought she fancied her
Author: codebreaker    Time: 4-17-2016 09:08     Subject: Sabotage 2x07 Episode 7

Not being able to talk to the woman because of British intelligence was bound to make things awkward and with Robert being killed she is going to be next if she smokes the drudged cigarette but her stalling didn't help as she was going to get to the drugged fag sooner or later, Elise and Erica sleeping together was a little predictable but the fact Erica played her was impressive
Author: codebreaker    Time: 4-17-2016 10:08     Subject: Sabotage 2x08 Episode 8

Erica coming back was surprising as she must of know they would figure it out but looks like she has fallen for Elise but  and going to the chemist without back-up was asking for trouble but Erica trying them help was a close call for Elise as she had been injected in the eye

Finally got around to watching this after my 1st attempt revealed that the French was not translated on the screen. The characters stayed true themselves, the new writer did not tamper with that, but the plot was simple ludicrous.

Overall, its still a decent series. S1 & 2 was good, but 3 takes the cake. And low and behold we get translations with 10 mins left in the finale. I was planning to pay to rewatch the series on Amazon for the translations - but the plot is not encouraging to warrant the additional cost.
