The Doctor Blake Mysteries Premiered on ABC1 on February 01, 2013
The Doctor Blake Mysteries is an original 10-part murder mystery series starring one of Australia’s favourite and most versatile actors, Craig McLachlan, as the maverick country town doctor Lucien Blake. A risk-taker, he’s impulsive and not afraid to upset the status quo.
It’s 1959. Dr Blake has returned to a place he once called home, to take over his deceased father’s medical practice. Everything seems peaceful on the surface, but seething underneath are the age-old passions of a regional town clashing head-on with the tensions and fears of the decade to come.
Haunted by the horrors of war, his own personal loss and changed by his experiences as a POW, the wry, dry, yet very human Dr Blake undertakes his other role as police surgeon with precision and gusto - yet many find his unpredictable and unconventional manner unnerving. Ahead of his time, Blake looks to the science of forensics and his own understanding of the human heart to help solve the mysteries that inevitably come his way.
Beside Blake, helping and at times hindering, are his housekeeper Jean (Nadine Garner), her nephew Danny (Rick Donald), a young constable, District Nurse Mattie O’Brien (Cate Wolfe) and Chief Superintendent Matthew Lawson (Joel Tobeck).
Change is seeping through the cracks of post-World War II values, and endless fears abound – fear of communism, nuclear testing, rock ‘n’ roll music, immigration and social breakdown. Dr Blake’s community turns to him for guidance in medical matters and so much more. They tell him everything. Everyone trusts the doctor and he has a damn good nose for things left unsaid.

You just knew Lucien would suspects foul play when what first looked like the first female doctor committed suicide but the girls trying to save her had also contaminated the crime scene, Lucien going after the surgeon and making a fool of himself was understandable as the surgeon had lied but still catching the killer was great Author: codebreaker Time: 4-20-2013 13:13

The actress being murdered at a charity event was a risky move as the Superintendent and Doctor was in the audience but Jean trying to defend the doctor to the Superintendent was bad timing as he pointed out her son could be a suspect and the Superintendent arresting the wrong person was karma Author: codebreaker Time: 4-22-2015 01:05
Lucien and Superintendent butting heads was bound to happen sooner or later but the Superintendent threatening to take down his friends with him was evil as that included one of his PC's and offering to resign if he leaves his friends alone was a surprise as I thought he would find away to get the Superintendent fired Author: codebreaker Time: 4-22-2015 02:37

It looks like the Superintendent looks has tampered with evidence but Charlie not being able to pinpoint what was different was unfortunate and allowing the woman to take the fall knowing she's not well was diabolical, firing the doctor was bound to happen sooner or later but him getting arrested for tampering with evidence was great Author: codebreaker Time: 2-24-2016 23:39

Derek Alderton being found dead was bound to come back on Blake as he was standing next to him when he was killed but his wife confessing made things awkward and Sullivan being trying to kill again was great
