The Paradise Premiered on BBC One on September 25, 2012
The Paradise is a drama series written by Bill Gallagher. Denise Lovett is a young country girl with only her wits to live on after showing up in a Northern city to take up a long-held promise of work in her uncle’s drapery shop. She soon finds out though that her uncle cannot afford to employ her as most of his customers have been seduced away by the The Paradise, the country’s first department store, across the street. She ends up being forced to take a job at The Paradise and falls in love with its surroundings and reckless owner, John Moray.
You cant blame Denise for going for a job at The Paradise when she finds out that her uncle cannot afford to employ her, it's just a shame that The Paradise is the reason for his hard times and the way she handled the dress she was asked to model that was two sizes too small was impressive Author: codebreaker Time: 10-11-2012 14:04

I'm not surprised Denise was stunned to find out that a customer had abandoned a baby in the store but using the situation as a free publicity stunt was interesting, Miss Audrey banning Denise from having any more ideas was bizarre but she knew she couldn't pass Denise's ideas off as her own and know wonder Clara was behaving strange when we found out the baby was hers and probable the little girl from the home Author: codebreaker Time: 10-31-2012 12:11

Miss Audrey getting a mysterious illness that was responsible for loosing her voice was probable a blessing in disguise but amusing to watch her trying not to talk and Denise being put in charge temporarily was bound to upset the other girls and getting Miss Audrey back for a birthday surprise was nice but the way she spoke to Denise was predictable Author: codebreaker Time: 10-31-2012 12:54

You just knew Miss Audrey would steal Denise's idea when she came up with the idea to attract more custom in ladies wear but so glad it backfired as she took the credit for it, I did like the line "come this way gentlemen we'll show you our corsets" but what Burroughs the barber did was terrible and he probable got what he deserved Author: codebreaker Time: 10-31-2012 13:51

Pauline offering to man the counter with the new attraction of exotic love-birds was interesting but after an expensive bird flies away I'm not surprised she became panic-stricken, Denise being unable to keep her true feelings from Moray any longer was expected but the way she blurted it out was amusing it's just a shame the kiss was interrupted and Clara trying to stir up trouble was predictable Author: codebreaker Time: 11-7-2012 11:10

Denise’s ingenious ideas to get the street traders to compete against the Paradise and increase their profits started of so well until Katherine turned up across the road but her second attempt by buying all the remanding fabric was a great retaliation Author: codebreaker Time: 11-15-2012 05:29

It was obvious the note Arthur delivered to Denise was from Moray but I thought he was marrying Katherine for her family money and Katherine insisting the wedding goes ahead after he told her was bizarre but with her father owning the land Denise's uncles shop is on will make thing awkward, the discovery of the dead body in the water they were bound to suspect Jonas Author: codebreaker Time: 10-20-2013 13:15

Tom Weston cancelling the annual staff outing just to stamp his authority was disgusting as Katherine is the owner of the store and with the head of ladies wear being up for grabs things are going to get awkward as Katherine has an evil plan for Denise to rise and fall were Tom fancies Clara for the position, Denise being commissioned to try and bring the Music Hall to the store was impressive as she had only the day to organise the event Author: codebreaker Time: 11-12-2013 03:21
Moray dismissing Denise's first idea for a tea party as head of ladies department was a surprise but at leased he changed his mind and the arrival of Susy’s mother was a shock as she looked like a homeless woman, Moray trying to drive a wedge between Katherine and her husband in a way to buy the Paradise should be interesting Author: codebreaker Time: 11-22-2013 14:56
Clara surprised me as she complained about Denise's idea about sharing commission evenly amongst the girls but then voted in favour of the idea and Sam borrowing Katherine's father watch from the display was risky but Sam hypnotizing Susy was amusing, Tom offering to send Denise to Paris sounded nice but he must have an ulterior motive Author: codebreaker Time: 11-23-2013 12:37

The photographer being determined to get Clara to be his muse was interesting as she was determined not to have her photo taken but Sam and his ghostly practical joke was brilliant and Clara standing Tom up to have her photo taken was a pleasant surprise Author: codebreaker Time: 12-7-2013 05:31
What a shame the mastery man died in the store and looks like he was a debt collector after Clémence but with Tom paying him off Clémence has no choice in being his mistress, Moray gambling with Tom for the Paradise was risky
