Black Mirror Aired From December 04, 2011 - December 18, 2011 On Channel 4

About the Show:
Black Mirror is a three-part television drama series created by Charlie Brooker. The series is produced by Zeppotron for Endemol. Regarding the programme's content and structure, Brooker noted, "each episode has a different cast, a different setting, even a different reality. But they're all about the way we live now – and the way we might be living in 10 minutes' time if we're clumsy."[1] An Endemol press release describes the series as "a hybrid of The Twilight Zone and Tales of the Unexpected which taps into our contemporary unease about our modern world", with the stories having a "techno-paranoia" feel.[2] Channel 4 describes the first episode as "a twisted parable for the Twitter age".

Episode 1: The National Anthem
In the run-up to Christmas the British Prime Minister Michael Callow is woken up and shown a disturbing video. On it he sees that people's princess Susannah of Beaumont has been abducted and will allegedly be murdered unless he has sex with a pig on live television. An effort to trace the kidnapper on a deserted campus proves to be in vain and Michael dismisses his aides' suggestion that a porn star perform the bestiality with the PM's face digitally superimposed. News coverage and Internet tweeters go into overdrive as Michael ultimately does his duty,in a deserted room with one camera man and a seemingly contented pig. Despite being ordered not to look, millions of people tune in though their amusement soon turns to horror at what they see. Susannah is released, though it is kept from the prime minister that she was let go half an hour before his television performance. A year later, when Susannah is pregnant and Michael's popularity ratings have soared...

Episode 2: Fifteen Million Merits
In a bleak, automated future Britain Bing is one of millions who pedal exercise bikes to create energy as a living. Their currency is merits, tokens with which to buy food from vending machines and which can be increased or decreased according to which shows one watches on giant television screens. A popular choice is 'Botherguts',which humiliates over-weight citizens. But Bing uses his merits as entrance money to get sweet-voiced fellow worker Abi onto the TV talent contest 'Hot Shot'. Unfortunately, despite her talent, she is but one of a glut of singers and ends up on the porn channel 'Wraith Babes'.An enraged Bing saves up another lot of merits and gets onto 'Hot Shot' to denounce its falseness. But will he be seen as a new Messiah or a voice crying in the wind and forced to sell out?

Episode 3: The Entire History of You
In the future, thanks to the Grain, a chip which can be implanted on a hard drive in the brain, every single action that a person makes is recorded and may be played back. Liam,a lawyer, married with a child, suspects that his wife Fi is having a fling with the brash Jonas, whom they meet at a dinner party. After playing clips from his own 'Grain' his suspicions are confirmed, and he gets drunk and attacks Jonas, forcing the guilty pair to show him what is in their memory banks. In fact the affair has been going on for months and Liam attacks Jonas, demanding that he erase all memories of Fi from his brain. This, however, does not result in marital reconciliation.

Episode 1: Be Right Back
Martha is devastated when her partner Ash is killed in a road accident on the day they move to a country cottage. At his funeral Martha's friend Sarah tells her of a new service that allows people to communicate with their deceased loved ones by using all their online communications and contributions. Martha is appalled but decides to stay in the cottage despite her sister's view that she is isolating herself. One day Martha gets a message from Ash and she realises that Sarah has signed her up for the service. She is displeased but,on finding she is pregnant, relents and relishes their conversations. Eventually she goes so far as to create a clone of Ash but he is not the man he was. They have sex but,in his case,it is based on memories of pornographic films. Martha soon sees the new Ash's limitations but is loath to part with him. Some years later it becomes apparent that she has made a compromise.

Episode 2: White Bear
Victoria wakes with a head-ache and bandaged wrists, pills spilled on the floor. A strange sign is flickering on the television but she can remember nothing. Outside she meets Jem, a young woman who explains that the signal on the television set comes from the White Bear transmitter. It has turned most of the population into voyeurs who do nothing but watch and sometimes film as a deadly elite known as the hunters kill those unaffected by the signal, such as Jem and Victoria. Escaping from a hunter they reach the White Bear transmitter, which they intend to destroy. However the White Bear set-up is not what it first appears and nor is Victoria.

Episode 3: The Waldo Moment
Comedian Jamie Slater provides the voice for Waldo,a blue cartoon bear who interviews politicians for a late night topical satire show where Waldo generally humiliates them. Jamie's producer Jack Napier suggests Waldo stands as the local MP in the upcoming election, against pompous Tory boy Liam Monroe - one of Waldo's interview victims. A reluctant Jamie agrees and meets the Labour candidate Gwendolyn, with whom he has a one night stand but is later told to keep away from by her campaign manager. On a televised discussion show Jamie sounds off against all the opposition, claiming they are insincere, and he becomes hugely popular as a result. However he suffers from guilt and urges people not to vote for Waldo. After Napier orchestrates an attack on him Jamie wakes in hospital to see the election results. Has Waldo won and if so will his success take Jamie with it?
