Two Man Army

Strike Back Premiered May 05, 2010 On Sky One

About Strike Back Season 1
The series takes place in a six-episode format. It follows the actions of John Porter, a former SAS Sergeant, and Hugh Collinson, a Section 20 officer in the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6). Both of them took part in a botched operation on the eve of the 2003 invasion of Iraq where two soldiers in their unit were killed. The series is divided on three main story lines that took place seven years later.

The first two episodes focus on the kidnapping of Katie Dartmouth, a British journalist, outside Basra, Iraq. Porter is redrafted to rescue her. The next two episodes take place in Zimbabwe, where the Government accuses the UK of orchestrating the assassination plot of Robert Mugabe; Porter is to enter the same prison the apparent shooter is being held and aids in breaking out. The last two episodes take place in Afghanistan and Pakistan, where a computer hacker is responsible for killing several American troops in Helmand Province. A loose arc also takes place during the series concerning who killed the soldiers

Vengeance: Episode One (Aug/17/2012)
British diplomat Patrick Burton, junior attaché Rachel Dalton and Lybian civil servant Keemal, are kidnapped in Nairobi, Kenya by militants loyal to Somali warlord Huseyin Waabri, and are being held in Mogadishu. Damian Scott is sent to rescue them. It is revealed that Keemal is in fact a member of the Gaddafi regime, and is in possession of four nuclear triggers, which he uses to bargain for his freedom. During the trade, mercenaries Karl Matlock and Jessica Kohl assassinate Keemal, compromising Scott's position, leading to his capture. Meanwhile, Michael Stonebridge adapts to his new career training Section 20 recruits. During a live-ammunition training exercise, Jake Hanson, who is suffering from some posttraumatic stress from his tours in Afghanistan, kills a recruit, forcing Stonebridge to kill him. He later hears of Scott's predicament, and volunteers to rescue them, along with Sergeant Julia Richmond. The operation is initially successful, however they are surprised to learn that Dalton has military training.

Vengeance: Episode Two (Aug/17/2012)
Dalton reveals she is high-ranking military intelligence operative, as part of secret mission to intercept the nuclear triggers. Now the group have escaped, Waabri places a bounty on their heads. Waabri also meets with Matlock who offers to buy the triggers. Scott, Stonebridge and Dalton find and intercept the exchange, confiscating the triggers. However unknown to them, they were swapped by Waabri's girlfriend. Dalton and company meet at the rescue point, but their helicopter is shot down. They are surrounded by Waabri's militia when they are "rescued" by Matlock's helicopeter. Scott trades the triggers for Waabri, however Matlock discovers the fake triggers and kills Waabri. The group are ambushed by the militia again, until they are rescued by an African army unit. However in the process Burton dies. It is revealed Matlock is taking orders from billionaire Conrad Knox in Cape Town, South Africa. Back in the UK, Dalton is promoted to head Section 20. Craig Hanson, Jake's brother and Stonebridge's friend, now a mercenary, takes revenge by murdering Stonebridge's wife Kerry

Vengeance: Episode Three (Aug/24/2012)
Stonebridge reassigns to Section 20 after passing a psychological evaluation. Section 20 continue their hunt for the triggers, which is being held by Othmani. Their first lead sends them to a compound in Niger, but the operation is sidetracked by a Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) air strike. Scott is taken by the CIA, and gets reacquanted with Christy Bryant, his former colleague in the agency who holds some undisclosed leverage over Scott. After Scott's release, Section 20 follow Othmani to a hotel in Niamey. Although he evades them, they follow him near the border to Algeria where he is captured by Tuareg warriors. The leader Markunda plans to auction Othmani between the British and El Soldat, Othmani's brother who plans to buy the triggers. However, El Soldat's men attempt to take Othmani by force, but are stopped by Scott and Stonebridge. They believe the triggers are on a bus, but as they intercept it, El Soldat's men arrives, forcing Scott and Stonebridge to abandon the search and escape. Meanwhile, Matlock and Kohl continue their own search for the triggers.

Vengeance: Episode Four (Aug/31/2012)
Scott, Stonebridge, Markunda and Othmani are holed up in a farmhouse in the Algerian Hoggar Mountains. As the local farmer patches up Othmani, El Soldat's men arrive and destroy their transport. After Scott and Stonebridge defeat the first wave of attackers, they wait until nightfall to escape. However they are prevented by Matlock and Kohl. Meanwhile, Major Oliver Sinclair learns that Dalton had a sexual relationship with Othmani while working in intelligence. After meeting Bryant, Dalton learns that El Soldat plans to betray Othmani after gaining his hands on the triggers. After talking with Othmani, he reveals that he has the triggers with him the entire time. A second wave of El Soldat's men attack the house. Othmani, realising that Dalton told the truth about his brother, blows himself and his brother up. However, Matlock and Kohl confiscate the triggers. Hanson arrives in Cape Town, apparently to work for Knox.

Vengeance: Episode Five (Sep/07/2012)
Section 20 move to Cape Town after Matlock and Kohl break into the suburban home of David Lombard, killing him and kidnapping his wife and son. They realise the wife's father Peter Evans has arrived. They recover him, but narrowly escape an ambush at the airport by Matlock's men and a Mossad unit. They learn that Evans was a former nuclear weapons scientist worked with the Israelis, and Matlock wants him to build a bomb from the nuclear triggers. Later, the Section are made aware that Knox is masterminding the operation, after discovering that a weapon from one of Matlock's men matches one from Rwanda, supposedly decommissioned by Knox's humanitarian foundation, as well as photographs of him and Evans' partner John Devers, who was assassinated by Mossad. Scott and Stonebridge track the kidnappees to Cape Town Stadium, but are ambushed by Kohl's team. They and Evans are later ambushed by a Mossad strike team at their safehouse. Scott realises that the lead female agent Rebecca Levi placed a tracking device on him when they had sex earlier in the episode, to find Evans. He splits off from Stonebridge and Evans. However, Stonebridge splits off when he spots Hanson and fires at him in revenge for Kerry's murder, allowing Matlock to kidnap Evans.

Vengeance: Episode Six (Sep/14/2012)
Hanson escapes Stonebridge's clutches. Scott offers Rebecca to join forces to rescue Evans and his family, but she refuses to. Evans is taken to Knox's vaccination research base so that he could rig the triggers to four nuclear bombs, where Knox explains he plans to liberate Africa "to a point where its voice is not just heard but listened toall over the world." Stonebridge is ordered to meet with Ava (Olivia Grant), Knox's daughter, just as a shipment of weapons from Sierra Leone is rerouted to the docks instead of Knox's decommission facilities, to convince her of her father's corrupt dealings. Section 20 report the shipment to the local police, however when the police raid, Scott is arrested before he can shoot Hanson. When Ava realises Stonebridge is telling the truth, she tells him about Knox's facility. Section 20 raid the facility, and although the hostages are rescued, the mercenaries escape with the nuclear weapons. As the hostages are taken to safety, Rebecca assassinates Evans. To prevent deportation from South Africa, Dalton decides that Section 20 go dark in order to catch Knox, who has covered his tracks.

Vengeance: Episode Seven (Sep/21/2012)
Now operating persona non grata, Section 20 set up base in Zimbabwe following the prison break of political prisoner and friend of Knox, Walter Lutulu by Matlock's team. The Section track Lutulu's activist daughter Lilian, who is being followed by local intelligence officers. They stop them, but Lilian is taken by Kohl to her father. Lutulu is later made aware of Knox's nuclear weapons, and is angered. As Scott and Stonebridge step out, corrupt South African official Joseph Dreyer, who works with Knox, has their team mates arrested. Scott and Stonebridge confront him in a strip club for their location, only to learn they are taken to an abandoned facility run by Knox's mercenaries; Sinclair is executed. Before Scott and Stonebridge's intervention Dalton breaks loose and escapes with the others, and Richmond kills Dreyer in revenge. Now operating in an abandoned hotel, they learn Lutulu is headlining a public speech. Bryant is seen meeting with Knox. An assassination attempt is made on Lutulu. While Scott aids in sending him to a hospital, Stonebridge catches the shooter, and they hide in an empty precinct away from an angry mob. However, Stonebridge finds himself being held at gunpoint.

Vengeance: Episode Eight (Sep/28/2012)
Community unrest plagues South Africa and Zimbabwe following Lutulu's shooting. Stonebridge questions the shooter, while Scott, Lilian and Lutulu are on the run from assassins. Knox and his new ally make a new plan.

Vengeance: Episode Nine (Oct/05/2012)
Knox plans on unloading nuclear bombs into politically unstable African nations, while Matlock reveals why he joined Knox. Stonebridge pressures Scott to reveal what leverage Bryant has over Scott.
