The Hour Premieres on BBC Two on July 19, 2011

Romola Garai, Dominic West and Ben Whishaw star in The Hour, a thrilling six-part drama which takes viewers behind the scenes of the launch of a topical news programme in London 1956, written and created by Bafta award-winning Abi Morgan.
With a highly competitive, sharp-witted and passionate love triangle at the heart of the series, it's through the lives of enigmatic Bel and her rivals, Freddie and Hector, that viewers will witness the decade on the threshold of change – from the ruthless sexual politics behind the polite social façade of the Fifties to the revelations that redefined the world for a new generation.
Over the six episodes, the interplay and intense ambitions between our rising news team play out against the backdrop of a mysterious murder and Freddie's controversial and dangerous investigation.
Ben Whishaw plays Freddie Lyon, a brilliant and outspoken journalist, whose passion endlessly lands him in trouble. Getting to the truth of a story can be a dangerous and risky business and it's Bel, his contemporary and best friend, who is always there to bail him out. For Freddie, Bel is so much more as well – if only he were brave enough to tell her.
Romola Garai plays Bel Rowley, spirited and ambitious and facing the most exciting and daunting challenge of her life – running The Hour. Can her passion for the truth survive the political pressure the job will bring – and will her friendship with Freddie survive her undeniable attraction to front man Hector?
Dominic West plays Hector Madden, charming, charismatic – a man whose upbringing and education have instilled in him a sense of entitlement and whose glamorous young wife has the family connections to get him the job as front man on The Hour. But, beneath the confident façade, Hector has a lot to prove. Bel provides the challenge – and the spark.
The Hour's supporting cast includes Tim Pigott-Smith and Juliet Stevenson as Lord and Lady Elms; Anton Lesser as Clarence Fendley, the BBC's Head of News; Anna Chancellor as Lix, The Hour's brave and maverick hard-drinking foreign correspondent; Julian Rhind-Tutt as Angus McCain, the Prime Minister's eyes and ears; and Oona Chaplin as Marnie Madden, Hector's spoilt beautiful wife.

Ruth getting a nose bleed at the same time as the guy was hit in the face on the underground was a strange coincidence but then asking Freddie if he could find out why he was murdered and the police are covering it up as a robbery was interesting and what a tragic end for Ruth when Freddie found her hanging but was to late

It was obvious that Freddie would be shocked following Ruth's death and is convinced that she was murdered and the discovery of the old film should be interesting

Freddie's crossword is still continuing to baffle him and he believes that there is a hidden code which is an important clue as to who killed both Peter and Ruth but the break in at his fathers house was suspicious considering all that was take was a photo and the sound as Tom Kish landed after the fall was sick

It looks like Freddie has confided in the wrong person about his suspicions and with after effects of Tom's death that are still being felt in the newsroom but with MI6 who are now have a regular presence in the newsroom and it seems that Freddie in particular is being watched

I'm glad Freddie wasn't scared off by Lady Elms when she warning him to stop his investigation and leave the family alone and Bel being confronted by Hector's wife was interesting but Freddie wearing the scarf to loose the tail was amusing

It's a shame Bel got fired for Freddie's interview but what an interview and at leased he found out who the mole was

I'm not surprised Hector found Kiki hard to resist but I hope they get who was responsible for the bruises she has and his wife throwing his dinner in the bin was amusing, what a way for Bel to find out Freddie is married

What bad timing for the two policemen to arrive at the door to arrest Hector on suspicion of beating up Kiki but his drinking problem wont help the situation and the racial attack against Freddie's wife was disgusting, Bel buying artistic literature in hope to find out the truth about Kiki's attack was interesting

Kiki goes missing was a little predictable but Bel and Freddie look for the truth about what happened and attempt to locate Kiki was interesting, Hector getting drunk and abusing his boss was stupid but what Freddie found out about Laurie was great as it was the gift he gave Kiki was his undoing

With Bel and Freddie being determined to expose the police collusion about the anti-nuclear policy story was great because time was running out Laurie being corrupt but with Hector owing him his life from the war is making it hard with it planned for tomorrow’s show

I'm not surprise Bel wanted the team to stop their pursuit of the dangerous story after their source’s body was discovered in a Soho backstreet and all because their story was postponed but what a time for a raid on the club

The Scandal hitting The Hour as Hector’s face hits the tabloids was predictable but his wife loosing her job as well was diabolical as the guy firing her was also at the club, Lix and Randall finally manage to get some answers in their efforts to find their daughter was sad as they found out she died, Freddie taking a beating as a delaying tactic so the show could air was brave but I hope he survives and with Kiki’s accusations this was a great season final
