"Covert Affairs" centers on a young CIA trainee, Annie Walker (Piper Perabo), mysteriously summoned to headquarters for duty as field operative. While Annie believes she's been promoted for her exceptional linguistic skills, there may be something or someone from her past that her CIA bosses are really after. Christopher Gorham plays Auggie Anderson, a CIA military intelligence agent who was blinded while on assignment and is Annie's guide in this world of bureaucracy, excitement and intrigue.

Annie Walker is removed from CIA training and thrust into the inner sanctum of the Agency for what appears to be their need of her exceptional linguistic skills, but there may be something or someone from her past that her CIA bosses are really after.

I don't think it will be too long, but when she finds out she might cross over to the guy and help him with whatever he did that made the cia go after him...

i think it was kind obvious that the guy from her past just happens to be someone and i think CIA knew how to use Assets to get what they want but now the question whether Annie will smart enough to be able to play both sides plus did anyone notice how difficult that car chase most show use an automatic car but this show used a manual car which was rather impressive and they say women can't drive stick. .

The wife thinking her husband is having affair -seriously if you wife is CIA analyst why is god named would you even consider cheating. it was great side-line story-line

Well another good episode team up experienced with MI5 guy who happens save her-she really develop some better fighting skills but a blind guy teach her to fighting is kind of amusing and who would of thought a radio transmission could be so dangerous.

so happy this show was added to VIP!!! I'm really enjoying this show. But really how did Annie not turn around and see Ben???? Way to not pay attention to whats going on around you.  I understand why she has no clue she's the bait the CIA is using to lure Ben but he was 10 feet away from her.  She didn't even notice when Jai took off after Ben (great foot chase).  Poorly written portion of a good episode.  I do wish they would hurry up and give us more info on Ben or bring Oded Fehr back (LOOOVE him!! & his episode) can't wait till next week!!

Remember she's not full trained CIA Agent she only had 2-3 months experience unlike Jay who has many years. Also you need remember she focus on that guy with gun.. She was focus on her target

Trained or not... Ben had already shot the bad guy so Bennett from ER wasn't about to shoot anyone.  And since i have no CIA training and can still hear someone walking up behind me let alone running i think the writers should have had her doing something other than just looking in the other direction.  Just saying.

yes, but now she knows and so does he.
I'm curious what role the son of the former director plays (forgot his name).
Is he seriously in love with Annie or is he just using her to get to Ben, cause that is his initial mission (I think).
And I still believe that Annie is eventually going to side with Ben, especially when they keep using her as bait and if she finds out that she can't trust as many people as she thought.
Only Auggie seems to be honest to her and but he doesn't seem to know who Ben is..

hmm, the pilot hasn't really hooked me, I might give it another episode or two, but the cast is just so boring. Plus, and I know this is nitpicky, but it slightly ticks me off (and this goes for almost every show) when they don't take the five minutes to actually practice the pronunciation of the languages they're supposed to be so proficient in.

Enjoyed this pilot and will definitely try to find time to watch more. I thought it was pretty clever the way they brought her love interest from the start back into it at the end of the episode and they succeeded in making me interested enough in what his story is to make me want to watch more. I also liked Annie's confidence, I would imagine that's vital in a job like that. I certainly couldn't do that job!

I love a show with a strong female lead.   This is the second time I watched the show and it was great.  Auggie is by far my favorite character.  The friendship between Auggie and Annie will be interesting to watch.

I'm sorry, but I'd rather subscribe to The Unit's portrayal of our covert operatives. It seems like a misguided effort to appeal to the couples demographic. The resulting macho-action/chic-flicy plot might fit best under the catagory of "alternate universe possibilities." God help the USA, if this show is the least bit accurate of the CIA's workplace.

This episode shows again that Annie cares and in the next episode Ben is back and we see that he cares too. I had expected a complete different episode for the season final, but the cliffhanger is great especially cause now the show can go many different ways....
I can't wait to see what is going to happen next season, how they are planning to keep things interesting.
But it was predictable who the mole was... I can't believe they haven't figured it out yet.

Episode 1: Pilot

This was a very good episode to start the show off with, the scene of Joan & Arthur Campbell arguing during Marriage Counselling was a little funny, I liked how Annie was able to talk her way not only back into the crime scene but also got close enough to retrieve the data, my favourite scene was the car chase Annie was involved in after she noticed a car following her, I was impressed with how Annie gained access to the Morgue but I was more impressed with how Annie & Auggie both told that FBI agent the same story, I would love to know just who the heck Ben Mercer really is.

The thing that stood out about this episode was how good Annie Walker and Auggie Anderson interacted with one another.
Author: spratt89    Time: 2-4-2011 17:01

Episode 2: Walter's Walk

This episode was slightly better than the season opener in my opinion, I loved the new digs the DPD got, I don't entirely trust the Jai Wilcox character at this very moment in time, my favourite scene was of Auggie giving Annie some fighting lessons that actually helped her once she was is in the field, I kind of saw the twist about James Elliot being a double agent coming I just don't know why, maybe it was because of how long it took him to appear before shooting that guy who was attacking Annie.

The thing I have noticed about the first 2 episodes is that Annie's personal life and work life are being balanced out quite well at the moment.
Author: spratt89    Time: 2-5-2011 03:39

Episode 3: South Bound Suarez

This was a pretty good episode, I wonder how many more skills Annie has up her sleeve that we have not seen yet, I liked the Diego character because of how he acted, my favourite scene was again of Annie driving a car but this time she was fighting Victor who had a gun pointed at her at the same time, I was surprised how Julia kept going back to Victor even after all he had done, I would love to see an Auggie centred episode soon and I think that he has more than earned the right to be back in the field even though he is blind.

I am not sure who to be more scared of, Ziva from NCIS when she drives or Annie when she drives as they both drive the same way, fast and dangerous.
Author: spratt89    Time: 2-5-2011 07:02

Episode 4: No Quarter

I thought this was a great episode, It was great improvisation of Annie to move the bad guy into position so that he got knocked down by one of those Airport Buggy's, I loved the constant bickering that took place between Joan & Arthur Campbell's characters, my favourite scenes were of Auggie being given a lie detector test, I would not mind seeing Oded Fehr's character Eyal making another appearance, it might only be me but I can honestly see Auggie getting a field mission before this season ends.

I have to admit the best thing about this episode is the continuing interaction that goes on between Annie & Auggie's characters.
Author: spratt89    Time: 2-5-2011 10:17

Episode 5: In The Light

This was a pretty good episode, I like how we get the occasional flashback to Annie & Ben Mercer, It might only be me but I get the feeling that Ben might have had some sort of connection to the CIA in his past, I was impressed by how Annie got Christopher McAuley to come back to the CIA but the way Annie did it was a little devious, I guessed Christopher would go after Hasaan Waleed as soon as Annie mentioned he was coming to the US, my favourite scene was of Jai chasing after Ben at the Docks, I have to say that Jai's character is beginning to grow on me a bit.
Author: spratt89    Time: 2-5-2011 11:20

Episode 6: Houses Of The Holy

This episode was much better than the last one in my opinion, the best thing about this episode for me was of Auggie helping out a couple of buddies from his old Special Ops Unit, my favourite scene was when Annie kicked that assassins butt, I might have been the only person but I felt really bad for Ashley Briggs, I would say the highlight of this episode was of Senator Jarvis resigning, I was not that interested in the sub-plot about Michael Brooks but it was good to learn that he was hiding the fact he had lost his job.

It was good to see Lauren Holly (NCIS) make an appearance as Madeline Jarvis even though she turned out to be the leak in the end.
Author: spratt89    Time: 2-5-2011 12:15

Episode 7: Communication Breakdown

This was a fantastic episode, I never would of guessed that Auggie was one of the people telling Liza Hearn CIA Secrets, I'm not sure if I believe Auggie when he says he is using Liza to find out who the real leak is, the best thing about this episode for me was the interaction between Auggie & Natasha's characters, I was very happy to see Auggie finally do some field work and I am hoping that we get to see it again at some point because based on this episode he has more than proven himself to be an able field agent, I like how almost all the sub-plots in the show so far have involved Annie's sister Danielle in some way or another.
Author: spratt89    Time: 2-5-2011 13:53

Episode 8: What Is And What Should Never Be

This episode was somehow even better than the last one, I loved how this episode started with Annie being found with a gun in hand and a couple of dead bodies on the floor while surrounded by cops, I found it funny how Annie kept getting an access denied noise which everybody else could hear because her speakers were up so loud, It may of taken 8 episodes but we finally got conformation that Ben was a former CIA  operative which I guessed a few episodes back, It might only be me but does anybody else notice how strange Annie runs but always seems to get away.

I liked how 2/3 of this episode was of Annie telling Joan everything about what had happened to her over the previous 2 days.
Author: spratt89    Time: 2-5-2011 15:14

Episode 9: Fool In The Rain

This was a brilliant episode, I have missed seeing Joan & Arthur have marriage counselling but what made that scene funny was that Theo was kicked out of his own office because he did not have clearance to hear what Joan & Arthur were talking about, I absolutely loved the Behrooz character because he was over the top happy, I was happy to learn Auggie was not the leak and I liked the new development in the search for who Liza is getting her information from, I look forward to seeing what happens now that Annie thinks she remembers seeing Jai in Sr Lanka.
Author: spratt89    Time: 2-5-2011 15:58

Episode 10: I Can't Quit You Baby

This was a really good episode, I was laughing at the scene when Auggie said to Annie “that would be stupid to refuse” just after Joan said “how would you like a trip to London”, I was scared at just watching the way Vivian was driving around London, I loved the scenes of Annie at the casino losing bad at crabs while also drinking allot to sell her cover story, I actually liked the Vivian character even though her driving scared me, I wish we had seen more of the minor sub-plot about Auggie at the Smithsonian, It might only be me but I have a bad feeling about Henry Wilcox.
Author: spratt89    Time: 2-5-2011 16:56

Episode 11: When The Levee Breaks

This was a very good episode to finish the first season off, I liked how this episode started with Ben handing himself in but did the CIA have to have so many people pointing guns at him, I liked the touching scene near the 10 minute mark when Auggie gave Annie a tracker and his phone number in case of an emergency, my favourite scene was of Annie saving Ben but the saddest scene was of Ben possibly dying in Annie's arms, I was not surprised to learn that Henry was giving Liza information, I cant wait for Season 2 as I want to know what happens with the Liza, Henry, Arthur & Joan storyline.

I also think they missed something. but it looked like Auggie believed those kids, so maybe that's just paranoia.
But I'm wondering what Ben is going to do about Annie. He is going to find a way to see her, eventhough it isn't allowed by the CIA.
And I still can't believe that Jay doesn't know his father is feeding the journalist info after he got that warning from the chief as well.

Interesting episode with Annie and Carlo having to evade arrest and figure out who set them up before the assassin can catch up with them, nice driving from Annie especially through the police road block but dropping the key to the hand cuffs made for an amusing final fight scene and i wonder what Auggie will decide
Author: kellemanske    Time: 6-29-2011 08:38

we already know (or at least strongly suspect cause it was implicated). He took the job to be able to extract Annie. But I think Arthur is setting him up to take the fall for him and I really don't like it. I wonder what Annie will say when she hears it. Cause she knows how badly Auggie wanted to go in the field and now he will never be able to do that anymore and basically it's all because of Annie. But I wonder why they didn't choose Jay. Would they suspect that it's his father who's the leak? And nice shot from the policemen at the end between Annie and Carlo straight killing the assassin.

I loved that we got to see Jay in action. And I like the new girl, I just don't think we'll see her that much because she's not really a great field agent.

I liked the way they covered up Annie passport problem and convinced her sister everything was OK but the way she wanted to see the passport when she got home was strange

Fantastic Auggie episode i love how he used an air hostess as a spy

The air hostess saying cant you see that won't fit was amusing but at leased he made good use of her eyes and Auggie recording the voice of the guy who blinded him was interesting especially with the background to what happened, Auggie saying goodbye for the first time was suspicious but good catch by Annie

But I'm wondering what Jay is going to do now his father threatened him and I'm wondering why Annies sis looked so strange when the doc said that annie worked in a museum.

It's a lie she told her sister she works Smithsonian but she told that guy she works in the museum. Those two places are different.

I thought the smithsonian was part museum, part research. And annie needed to find everything for the expositions.
