Richard getting his own back on Jean after her betrayal about the miscarriage was cruel especially coming home with lipstick on his collar and it's a good job Powell called the ambulance before the termination but still causing a lot of trouble was surprising and dying in the operating theatre was tragic

Charlie double checking the equipment does make it look like he's responsible for the death but he is going to be the weak link that brings them down, the triplets being the result of her father sexual abuse was surprising

Elizabeth seeing Otto holding hands with Angela must of hurt but he was lucky his son didn't see it and Mulligan putting the pressure on Elizabeth is frustrating

Elizabeth being determined to keep her troubles with Mulligan from Otto, Richard and Jean was never going to be easy and to think it all started years ago after a road accident was frustrating as he also took a bribe, Charlie coming to the rescue after Mulligan pulled a gun was great and Elizabeth being pregnant after Mulligan forced himself on her was a surprise
