30 Rock Season 1-7 General Discussion Thread (Spoilers)

30 Rock Season 1-7 General Discussion Thread (Spoilers)

Ok, this was my first time seeing this show. It was okay, it wasn't really might type of humor. I was surprised to see that they actually showed the Strip Club scenes on NBC. It was alright, I am curious now to see how working with Tracy Jordan is going to turn out. Poor Liz, if I had to go through all of that due to lunch with a client; I think that I would have just excused myself and left. Racing to the Finish.

you know i tried to watch it but i find Tracy Jordan an annoying character which put me off the show

This show was not my cup of tea.  i much preferred Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip to 30 rock for i find them sort of simular.  But i must say Tina Fey is pretty talented she writes and acts forr the show.

I watched episode one too many times and it is definitely not my kind of show.  Oh well!

RACING TO THE FINISH

This was the first time watching this show. I would need to watch more episodes to see if I really liked it or not.  I like Liz though.  I am glad she told her boss off.  And it was funny when she threw the water bottle at him.

I didn't know that this show existed until now!! It's ok, I agree with kwargalla in that I liked Studio 60...I like the girl who plays Liz Lemon but I dont know if I'm a fan of this show yet...

Well he does black man a bad name

yeah, bala, "tracy jordan" can be annoying but it's part of the social satire - black actors only get so many/so many types of roles. he was one of the token black actors on saturday night live - a great favorite of ours when we lived in the states. we left just after tina fey started on snl, which was too bad because she's a really incredible writer. matter of fact, we're going to give her a writing nomination!

we're racing to the finish

My favorite Tracy episode is the one where he is trying to get "street cred." So funny.

Surprisingly, NBC picked up both Studio 60 and 30 Rock...and they have SNL... I read that Studio 60 had a more dramatic approach to SNL while 30 Rock had the comedic take. Truly, Tina Fey is someone I really respect in Hollywood. She can act and write...just a hilarious woman. A great movie that she wrote while acting in it was Mean Girls...very funny and a "real" teenage comedy. I'll have to see Studio 60 sometime...too bad it got axed.

This is one of those shows where the humour only really kicks in for real once you know the characters and their traits  cos thats where all the in-jokes lie....... I think that Liz Lemon's name is v.funny and the way her lip curls up when she's getting p'd off.

Succession

Jack is the main contender for GE Head as Don tells him he's his pick... But who will take care of East Coast TV & Microwave Programming? Liz of course! Tracy isn't invited to Take Your Father to Work Day because he thinks his son thinks he's a joke as a comedian so he ventures into combining two of his favorite things: video games and porn.

This was a great episode and was as great as MILF Island...Liz being an executive was fun to watch as her interpretation included drinking a lot Jenna was absent, which is a bummmer because she delivers some of the best lines in the episode... Overall, it was great... What will happen next?

Sandwich Day

Floyd is back in town when a flight is cancelled and has to stay at Liz's place. It's Sandwich Day at NBC and when envy overcomes the TGS staff and eat Liz's one of a kind sandwich, they must go against the Teamsters in a drinking contest. Jack's new office is on the 12th floor and begins to wonder if NBC will be his home much longer.

Even better than the last episode! One of the funniest things in the whole episode was when Liz gets mad over her food getting eaten. It was like one of the episodes a couple weeks ago with the Kathy cartoon. Chocolate, chocolate, chocolate! Aargh! Kathy's office was just hilarious...I want to see more of her...she doesn't talk but has the most funny face expressions... BTW, it seems to be that Mark Wahlberg does not like unicorns. Jack trying to get Don to wake up with scare tactics was another good quality..."Sir, Hillary Clinton has been elected President!" Well we'll see how Jack does at his new job...working alongside one of his least favorite people (their name is a type of plant). The last joke I'll talk about is Liz doing a great Marcia Brady impression "Oh, my nose!" She sounded just like her...it almost seems as if they pulled a sound clip from the show and put it at that scene... I seem to be the only one who enjoys the show...

Cooter

When Jack moves to Homeland Security in Washington, it's not what he thinks. Back in NYC, Liz tries numerous pregnancy tests only to find out that she's pregnant on all of them. Kenneth goes against Donny in a race to see which page gets to go to Beijing for the Summer Olympics and Tracy perfects a prototype of his new video game.

This season finale finished my 3-in-a-row 30 Rock mini marathon tonight. I hope to watch the beginning of season 2 next weekend...which will bring me back here to talk all by myself...don't wanna be...all by myself anymore... I guess there's my daily shot of using pop culture like 30 Rock does...that is what I admire about it... 30 Rock revolves around what is going on in the country or world at the time of airing for the episode... Anyways, I guess the video game came back into play as Tracy perfects the prototype and Frank becomes addicted to it. Kathy and Jenna came back! (Well, I forgot to mention that Jenna was also in the previous episode as well.) Both of them bring their characters back in...Jenna does some very funny voices for the video game while Kathy has fun putting toy cars into her mouth... Unfortunately, I can see her next season dying of lead poisoning...that is the type of material 30 Rock would use yet the poisoning news is old so it would be like using something out of style in comedy world... The ending was great by tying up all the cliffhangers in about 45 seconds... But now as I end this review, I hope to see that Liz adopts a child next season...and she WILL be the next Erin Brockovich or Sarah Connor...and her son will be next in line... Surprisingly, I saw the first couple episodes of that show...

Oprah Winfrey In Final Talks to Guest Star on NBC's 30 Rock

Dreams really do come true!

Sources confirm exclusively that Oprah Winfrey—the queen of, oh, let's face it, everything—is currently in final talks to guest star on NBC's 30 Rock this fall, and has already been written into the script for the second episode!

What will she play and when would it air? Well...

I'm told that Oprah is slated to appear in 30 Rock's episode 302, which is tentatively set to air Nov. 6. The intial plan (subject to change) is that she will be playing herself, with all of her scenes opposite Tina Fey's fabulous Liz Lemon, and that her story would also play into a feud between Tracy Jordan (Tracy Morgan) and Jenna Maroney (Jane Krakowski) that will continue through several episodes.

As regular readers of Watch With Kristin no doubt know, Tina has long expressed a wish to get Oprah on the show, and last year, while doing publicity for her movie Baby Mama on Oprah's show, she put those positive thoughts out into the universe and, lo and behold, it worked!

In other notable 30 Rock casting news, Will Arnett will reprise his Emmy-nominated role as the duplicitious, divalicious Devin Banks for the Oct. 30 season premiere episode, called "Do-Over." And the third episode stars a little-known but talented comedic actress named Jennifer Aniston.

Jennifer Aniston is in talks to appear...

If you are a US resident, on Hulu, you can view the 30 Rock premiere a week early. How sweet is that?!
