About the Show:
Case Histories is set amidst the iconic landscapes of modern Edinburgh, bringing to screen the delightful jigsaw puzzles of Kate Atkinson’s novels and the complexity of her hero Jackson Brodie.
A former soldier and policeman, Jackson’s tough-guy exterior belies a deeply empathetic heart. He's unable to resist coming to the rescue and is a magnet for the bereaved, the lost and the dysfunctional.
Full of entertaining and original characters, each two part story is warm, poignant and life-affirming, enjoying humour whilst exploring the darkness that underpins each crime mystery.

Season 1



Episode 1: Case Histories (1) (Jun/05/2011)
Jackson Brodie pays a visit to a regular client to help look for her missing cat but things end up taking a peculiar turn after some of her neighbours ask with him to find their sister, who went missing 30 years ago.

Episode 2: Case Histories (2) (Jun/06/2011)
Jackson continues to look into the disappearance of Olivia Land and he pays a visit to the murder victim's father Theo Wyre, who is shocked by Laura's death. Jackson struggles with the news that his ex-wife is moving to New Zealand with their daughter.

Episode 3: One Good Turn (1) (Jun/12/2011)
Jackson discovers a woman's body in the water while out he is running. His efforts to retrieve the body fails but he notices that she’s wearing religious some earrings. Crime novelist Martin Canning has comedian Richard Moat staying with him. Martin ends up seeing a violent road-rage attack and attacks the assailant with his bag. The hospital request that Martin goes with the attack victim who because of his injuries shouldn't be left on his own. Gloria Hatter learns that her husband, Graham, is in hospital suffering a heart attack after a dominatrix session with Tatiana. Tatiana is revealed as wearing the same religious earrings as the dead girl. After seeing Tatiana at the hospital, Martin has a flashback to a girl in a hotel room. Jackson ends up learning from Martin that he once slept with a prostitute in Russia and accidentally killed her.

Episode 4: One Good Turn (2) (Jun/13/2011)
DI Louise Munroe and Marcus Stewart end up joining Jackson at Martin's house where Jackson has discovered a body battered to death. Jackson end up believing that the road-rage attacker, Terrence Smith, has murdered Martin. Jackson is relieved when Martin ends up showing up and dead man is revealed as Richard Moat. Deborah manages to track down the road-rage car to Graham Hatter, Gloria's husband. Gloria is discovered burning clothes in the garden and Jackson thinks she's planning a new start. He end up discovering a picture of the road rage victim inside the house. Jackson and Martin end up finding out that Hatter's cleaning company is making girls to work as prostitutes. Gloria ends up being scared by Smith after he turns up at her house looking for her husband.

Episode 5: When Will There Be Good News? (1) (Jun/19/2011)
Jackson is pestered by a client into looking into a seemingly routine case of marital infidelity. H esoon finds himself though becoming involved in a train accident while looking for evidence. A troubled girl also needs his help.

Episode 6: When Will There Be Good News? (2) (Jun/20/2011)
Jackson ends up being released from jail, but his arrest has made a connection with the Joanna Hunter case. Jackson attempts to find her before anything bad happens to her. Marcus finds himself becoming caught up in the cheating wife case.

Episode 1: Started Early, Took My Dog (May/19/2013)
Now back in Edinburgh following a child-snatching job in Munich, Jackson finds it hard to deal with guilt about whether he returned the child to the right parent or if he was conned. After Hope McMaster, a woman looking for her birth parents, approaches Jackson for help, he finds his search taking him into the centre of 1979 police corruption and murder.

Episode 2: Nobody's Darling (May/26/2013)
A woman believes that her daughter’s riding accident was murder and as he investigates Jackson Brodie needs to confront some tough truths of his own.

Episode 3: Jackson and the Women (Jun/02/2013)
Jackson attempts to help a teenage boy who has grown up in the shadow of his murdered mother to learn how she really died. He also has a dilemma of his own to deal with as a past case threatens his future.
